Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3
Review by Veggeta X
"Street racing, drifting game, modifcation game... It has it all to keep you at this game for months"
This game will probably only attract racing gamers. The 3rd sequel has now finally bought the rights of name for the company and cars. Fun indeed. Anyway, I shall start shouldn't I?
Graphics 10/10
Great! It gives GT3 competition when graphics are important. My cousins argue all the time about which game having better graphics and since this game came out... their mouths have been shut tightly. Well, at least until GT4 comes out. Graphics are great and detailed beautifully. When you switch gears the car actually really jerk as a real car now. The new raining feature makes it more beautiful. You have to see it!
Music/Sound 8/10
I can't say anything too bad about it. It has the right music to go along with racing I guess. The sounds for the car are mighty good and realistic now. As I said before, the blow-off valves has the realistic turbo push sound and I say it's beautiful listening to it.
Story 5/10
Not too much of a story as anyone would agree. The quotes and liners used are unique. You have to travel further into the game to see more of what it has to say. It ain't much but this game ain't about story so this subject should not matter what so ever.
Gameplay 10/10
This is where the most fun comes out from(obviously). The new 1 vs 2 people car race is the new challenge you will have to face. Wonderers and bosses through the highway are always fun to face too. I can't tell too much of the difference of control from the Zero but I can say that the rain effects the driving a lot. Drifting around and over the corners and in someone's face is mad crazy and fun! AI is still a bit stupid but can pull on you when you get careless. Gameplay has everything that's needed to be in a PS2 racing game. Modding cars are always fun too.
Replayability 10/10
After you get done with this game, you'd probably want to start a new with different cars and going different directions. Also when you get unlimited money you'll probably spend tons of time just modding cars and messing with the gears and speed and turns with each and every different car. It's fun to experiment.
Great fun game that will last for months and cheap too! Racing has never been so fun! The only negative thing I have on this game is... no Honda?!! No S2000? No NSX? What in the hell were they thinking? It's ok.. the Skyline makes up for it.
I love this game. Go buy it! You can get it for 20 bucks!
