Review by Number1Survivor
"The Perfect Kill."
Hitman: Blood Money hasn't , in many ways , changed from it's roots. it's still basic really. You get your targets and you hunt them and kill them. but what has changed...
- You Get Money-
The main difference. Your money goes towards customizing your weapons and , at the end of each level, bribes if you've just run-and-gunned throughout the whole level
Laser Sights, Silencers , Extra Ammo are to name a few of the vast amount of upgrades available.
There are many different ways of killing now. The humble Fibre Wire can now drag someone up an elevator hatch and Screwdrivers, Hammers and even a Cane Sword are just a few of the fancy new weaponry on display.
GAME PLAY- 9/10
There is a lot of fun to be had in Hitman. It rotates around Stealth and making it look like your target was killed by accident, with more than 12 levels and a healthy selection of weapons. Hitman is a great way to kill your time. Most of the time you will end up having to revolve around hiding, stealth and sedating bodies, it's not really a change from the old Hitman games, but it's still a great deal of fun
LASTING POWER- 9/10
When you plow through the levels, there is some great joy in replaying them and just going around randomly shooting peoples kneecaps, you can also kill your targets in different ways as well. Add the fact that you can Customize weapons and a Silent Assassin rank to obtain and you've got a more than a few good days of playtime.
SOUND - 10/10
The guns rattle, cartridges fall to the floor with a clatter, bodies scream and fall to the floor, Hitman doesn't skip much on the sound front. Some melee weapon kills sound scary and messy too. The fronting soundtrack for the game is pretty mellow. The orchestral music makes a welcome return, as well as a few other tracks to add to the games atmosphere.
GRAPHICS - 10/10
A lot of care has gone into the graphics, mainly through the revamped Glacier engine. There is a lot of shadows and darkness, but in later levels it is quite bright and dazzling. The light shines of 47s head in a dazzling style.
STORY - 9/10
If you were looking for a good story, Hitman: Blood Money has a decent, The ICA (Agent 47s Agency) has assassins being bumped off from another company moving in, with mainly superhuman Albinos working for them, it's up to Agent 47 to wipe them out and take out the leader. If you've played through the other few, the twist at the end is quite a shock, and the ending has a nice cliffhanger too.
OVERALL - 9/10
I'm going to eat a slice of humble pie and say it isn't a challenger to Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell in terms of stealth, but in ways of ingenious kills , disguises and undercover espionage, Hitman: Blood Money knows it to the science, with vast levels, upgradable weapons and different ways of killing, Blood Money is certainly worth a buy, if you're not really interested in espionage, spying or shoot-em-ups. It's still worth a rental
