    After listing all of the equipment by type and by character, I figured that I 
    might as well sort them alphabetically, too.  I also decided to list all the 
    locations of the equipment in this section.  I'm sure that I missed a few 
    locations somewhere in this list, so if you know a location that I have not 
    listed, then send an e-mail to me.
    
    Locations are described by the following words:
    
    START:  A character begins with the item already equipped.
    
    FIND:  The item is found in a chest (not on the world map) or, in the case of
           the Palmacosta Human Ranch, in some bright white shiny sparkly light
           thingy detectable only by radar using the Sorcerer's Ring.
    
    WORLD MAP:  The item can be found on the world map.
    
    DROP:  An enemy drops the item IN BATTLE.  A dropped item appears inside the
           Item(s) Found box right after you win a battle.
    
    STEAL:  Colette can steal the item.
    
    BUY:  The item can be bought in a shop.  Use Regal's Personal EX Skill to
          decrease prices by 10%.
    
    CUSTOMIZE:  The item can be customized.
    
    RUNE BOTTLE:  The item can be obtained by using a Rune Bottle on another item.
    
    EVENT:  The item is received through some event in the game.  This includes
            items dropped by enemies OUTSIDE OF BATTLE (such as the elemental
            jewels).
    
    (special prefix)
    FINAL:  If you see FINAL prefixed to one of the words above, then this means
            that you must be at the very end of the game; that is, you must have
            walked through the door behind the Dark Dragon in Vinheim and have
            watched the subsequent scene before you can obtain the item this way.
    
    Also, I have to set some things straight about some of the locations...
    
    Advanced Coliseum:  This refers to the Coliseum in Meltokio.  You have the
                        option of fighting solo or as a party of three.  If you
                        fight solo in the Advanced Class, then you win a prize.
    
    Derris-Kharlan:  For the purposes of this guide, the final area of Derris-
                     Kharlan, Mithos's castle, will be referred to as Vinheim.
    
    Flanoir:  After the Flanoir doctor scene, the shop in Flanoir sells different
              equipment, and the shop also opens customization.  To note this, I
              type (before) for before the scene and (after) for after the scene.
              If neither is typed, then it doesn't matter if it's before or after.
    
    "Flanoir scene":  "Flanoir scene" or "Flanoir doctor scene" refers to the scene
                      that happens when Altessa is injured, and you have to go to
                      Flanoir to ask the doctor for help.  While the doctor is at
                      Altessa's house, Lloyd meets with one of his party members.
                      After this scene, a lot of sidequests become available.
    
    Hima:  I think the equipment selection in Hima changes when you go there right
           before you go to the Tower of Salvation for the first time.  Again, this
           change will be reflected with the words "before" and "after," with
           neither word appearing if the item can be found both before and after.
           I'm still not 100% sure if this is correct, though.
    
    Luin:  The original Luin refers to Luin before it's destroyed.  It also refers
           to Luin after ten donations to restore it to its former glory.  The
           improved Luin refers to Luin after the 11th donation, after which Luin
           has new weapons to sell.  I type (original) or (improved) to
           differentiate between the two states of Luin.  If neither is typed,
           then it does not matter if it's original or improved.
    
    Tower of Salvation:  There are actually three different Tower of Salvation
                         areas in the game:  "the final seal" that contained the
                         Eternal Sword, the area above the final seal where Lloyd
                         and everyone else were escaping from Welgaia, and the area
                         below the final seal where Lloyd and everyone else raced
                         to save Colette after being betrayed by Zelos.  Confused?
                         Well, I'll refer to the area above the final seal as
                         (escaping from Welgaia) and the area below the final seal
                         as (rescuing Colette).

    Note:  Apparently, in this game, physical attacks count as an "element."
           Therefore, take care when equipping the Prism Guard or Resist Ring.
    UPDATE:  It's not just physical attacks but all non-elemental attacks (i.e.
             Meteor Storm) that count as its own separate "element."  I have
             adjusted the rest of the document accordingly.
    
    
    Some equipment have a defense against certain types of elements.  This is 
    represented by a hidden numerical value for each element.  These numerical 
    values are added together from all of a character's equipment, and the 
    resulting numbers determine what the character's elemental defenses are.
    
    
        If elemental defense is -2 or less:
            "Weak" : Damage taken is doubled.
    
        If elemental defense is -1, 0, or 1:
            Damage taken is normal.
    
        If elemental defense is 2, 3, or 4:
            "Reduce" : Damage taken is halved.
    
        If elemental defense is 5 or 6:
            "Invalid" : Damage taken is nullified.
    
        If elemental defense is 7 or more:
            "Absorb" : Damage taken is absorbed.
    
    
    Go to the Status screen and press C-Down for a list of equipped defenses.
    Note:  If elemental defense is -1 or 1, then the element's symbol will appear
           on the Status screen, but no word will be displayed next to it.
    
    
    Example:
    Presea equips the following equipment:
     Prism Guard, Elemental Circlet, Penguinist Gloves, Reflect Ring, Persian Boots
    The elemental defenses from all of the equipment are added:
        Non-Elemental = 0
                Water = 7
                 Wind = 7
                 Fire = 7
                Earth = 7
            Lightning = 5
                  Ice = 7
                Light = 5
             Darkness = 1
    Water, Wind, Fire, Earth, and Ice are absorbed.
    Lightning and Light are nullified.
    Non-Elemental and Darkness are normal damage.
    
    
    Another example:
    When fighting Volt, equip Sheena with the Card of Lightning and two Paralysis 
    Charms.  Sheena will be immune to all Lightning-elemental attacks.  Volt uses 
    only Lightning-elemental attacks, so Sheena will be immune to all damage from 
    Volt!  Just make sure to cast S.Seal: Water or something similar on Sheena.

    However, some weapons also inflict extra damage against certain enemy types.

    Fenrir, the monster that accompanies Celsius, is an Ice-elemental Beast.  
    Therefore, Zelos's Flame Dagger is a good weapon to use because Fenrir is weak

    There are lots of equipment that affect Luck.  Luck affects various things, 
    such as Sheena's and Zelos's Personal EX Skills.  If you can get Sheena's Luck 
    over 200, then her Personal EX Skill will evade enemies 100% of the time.  If

                                     Devil's Arms
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    
    
    Many people have questions regarding the Devil's Arms and their use as well as 
    their locations.  I felt that it warranted its own section.
    
    SHORT ANSWER:  As a character kills more enemies, that character does more
                   damage with a Devil's Arm.
    
    LONG, BORING, DRAWN-OUT ANSWER:
    
    First of all, I have to tell you about the "kill count."  That's the name I 
    gave to the hidden stat that counts the number of enemies a character has 
    killed.  Ever since the beginning of your file, the game has kept track of the 
    total number of enemies that each individual character has killed.  That is, 
    the game keeps track of Lloyd's number of kills, Kratos's number of kills, etc.
    
    Kill counts may be transferred to your next game by buying the Battle Info in 
    the Grade Shop.  As far as I know, there is no way to actually look at your 
    kill count.  By the way, kill counts are not the same thing as encounters.  
    Kill counts = number of kills, and encounters = number of battles.
    
    The Devil's Arms, as you may have found out, have 0 Attack.  What it does not 
    tell you is that the Devil's Arms actually add a modifier to the damage 
    algorithm.  It simply adds the kill count to the damage.  So basically, the 
    Devil's Arms add 1 damage to your attacks for every enemy you kill.  
    Unfortunately, there is a limit; you cannot just increase your Attack ad 
    infinitum by killing enemies indefinitely.  I think the limit is around 3000, 
    which is still plenty since no weapon gives you 3000 Attack.
    
    Note that, even after obtaining all of the Devil's Arms, their true power (the 
    kill count modifier) will remain locked until you go to the bottom of the 
    Temple of Darkness and defeat Abyssion.
    
    LOCATIONS OF THE DEVIL'S ARMS:
    
    Lloyd's Nebilim is in Flanoir.  After obtaining the Evil Eye, head to Flanoir 
    where a man named Abyssion will give you the Nebilim as well as the ability to 
    detect the other Devil's Arms.
    
    Colette's Evil Eye is in the Toize Valley Mine.  After using the boulder trap 
    to crush the Naploosa Bacura, check its debris to discover the Evil Eye.  This 
    should be your first Devil's Arm to get.
    
    Genis's Disaster is in Altamira.  Go to the Altamira Hotel and pay for a room. 
    Choose to stay up during the night (if you do not get this option, then you are
    not far enough in the game).  Head to the Casino/Theatre area.  There should be
    a man on the bridge that connects the Casino and Theatre.  Give him 1000 Gald 
    to receive the Disaster.
    
    Raine's Heart of Chaos is at Hakonesia Peak.  After obtaining the other eight 
    Devil's Arms, return to Flanoir and talk to Abyssion for a scene.  Then fly to 
    Hakonesia Peak where Raine will negotiate with Koton for the Heart of Chaos.
    
    Sheena's Gates of Hell are in the Temple of Earth.  After a certain point in 
    the game, a gnomelette eventually appears inside Altessa's House.  Speak to the
    gnomelette, then return to the area inside the Temple of Earth where the Dragon
    resides.  Just past the Dragon are the Gates of Hell (the weapon, not an actual
    entrance to Hell).
    
    Kratos's/Zelos's Fafnir is in the Gaoracchia Forest.  Enter the forest from the
    Mizuho side or the Ozette side.  Go northwest two screens.  In the screen that 
    you're in is the chest containing the Fafnir.  You may have to use the light 
    from the Sorcerer's Ring to clear out the plants.
    
    Kratos's/Zelos's Soul Eater is in the Triet Desert.  In Triet, there are two 
    people who, after talking to them, trigger a point in the Triet Desert where 
    the Sand Worm guards the Soul Eater.  Defeat the Sand Worm to retrieve the Soul
    Eater.
    
    Presea's Diablos is in Latheon Gorge.  In the second "screen" of Latheon Gorge 
    is a chest containing the Diablos.
    
    Regal's Apocalypse is in Welgaia.  In Welgaia is a building with an elevator 
    inside it.  In one of the rooms on the first floor of this building is a chest 
    containing the Apocalypse.

        Yay, I finished this equipment guide.  Contact me if there's any problem
        with this guide, even if it's a minor grammatical error.  I plan to cover
        all the locations of the equipment in the next update.
    
    Version 1.01 - November 25, 2004
        I forgot to sort the armor (head) for Colette, heh.  I am progressing very
        slowly in Tales of Symphonia (due to newly released games), so it may be a
        while before I get the locations of all the equipment.
    
    Version 2.0 - December 18, 2004
        The equipment locations are mostly done.  I'll have to replay the game yet
        again to wrap up some loose ends, but I think the equipment locations
        section in this version is pretty accurate.  I also added a Devil's Arms
        section.  It's a little incomplete since some Devil's Arms (like Disaster)
        won't appear until you get other Devil's Arms, and I have yet to record it.
    
    Version 2.1 - February 20, 2005
        Okay, I have finally stopped playing Paper Mario:  The Thousand-Year Door
        just long enough to update this guide.  For one thing, I added the starting
        equipment for Kratos, Raine, and Sheena to the equipment locations section
        (can't believe I forgot that).  I also changed Physical to Non-Elemental
        (see the elemental defense section).  I also reworded the Devil's Arms
        section to better describe kill counts and whatnot.  I still have to update
        the Devil's Arms locations part, though.
    
    Version 2.2 - May 6, 2005
        Oops, the Elder Cloak can be found in Flanoir only BEFORE the Flanoir
        doctor scene.  Thanks to Vincent for pointing that out to me.  Also added
        two new subsections:  HP/TP Regeneration and Luck.  And I STILL have to do
