<Intro>

This FAQ is based on the Demo of Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner which is
within Degenki PS2 Volume 275 (D69). Since Degenki PS2 is a Japanese magazine,
the demo is in Japanese.

Where can I get Degenki PS2 Volume 275 (D69), you might ask. If you live in
Japan, you can easily get it. If you live outside Japan currently like myself,
then you could try this site:

www.mangaoh.co.jp

That's the site I used. You have to free order from them as well. To do that,
you need to be able to read and write Japanese. If you can't and have trouble
with free ordering from them, contact me if you wish. I could try to help you
out.

The above is a Japanese site, if you want an English site, you might want to
try out

www.akadotretail.com

You probably need to special order it from them. Since they have to get it
from Japan and then ship to you, ultimately it takes much longer time than
the above site. But it's your choice.

Now to actually play it, I would recommend you to get a Japanese PS2. That's
what I have and it works perfectly. To get a Japanese PS2, you might want
to try out these sites:

www.ncsx.com
www.play-asia.com
www.liksang.com
www.japanesevideogames.com

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

<Getting Started>

Turn on the PS2, get the Disc Tray come out. Put in the Degenki PS2 DVD.

After it loads, you should be at a menu with squares of selection.

Anyway, Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner is the default selection anyway since
it's the cover game. So, just simply press 'Circle'.

Once you do that, you will be taken to a screen where they shortly describe
the game. Press 'Circle' again to advance.

Now you are at a screen with the controls of the game.

Left Stick - Cursor Movement
D-Pad      - Cursor Movement
Circle     - Confirm
X          - Cancel
Triangle - Auto Battle On / Off
Square     - Next Turn
Select - HELP On / Off

Press 'Circle' again to continue.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

<Actual Demo>

Now you will be at the Title Screen where it says

Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner

Experience Version

and website URL of Atlus.

Obviously, press 'Start' to continue.

Then it will start with some footage, so sit back and enjoy.

Or you can skip it with 'Select' + 'Start'.

Soon, you will automatically taken into a battle with a horse like demo.

Anyway, at the up right corner, you have the 'Press Turn Icon'.

Your opponent is called

Ashura Hayagriva (Hayaguriiva in katakana)

Hayagriva is also known as the Batou Kannon which is Kannon with a horse's
head.

So you can turn on Auto Battle if you wish with Triangle or Next Turn with
Square.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

<VS Ashura Hayagriva>

The battle itself is very straight forward. Ashura Hayagriva's Weakpoint is
Ice. So do use as many ice based attacks as you can. Heal with items or with
Prithivi's "Dear" if you are low on HP. Continue this and you shall end the
battle very quickly.

Do watch out when Ashura Hayagriva uses 'Ice break' and 'Burn Storm'.

When the battle ends, you will get a special movie which really quite long.

And that's about it for the demo. It's very short but at least you get to
experienced the turn based battle system.

If you like this game, be sure to import it on July 19th, 2004.
