    2. Why Should I use Xu Huang?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Xu Huang has long reach (aka his pole axe). His attacks are pretty good crowd
clearers. His SSST attack is an excellent crowd clearer as well as his musou
attack. Nothing much else to say about him except he has a cool jump charge
attack and a all around good character to use.

    3. Brief Background on Xu Huang (Courtesy of kongming.net history archives)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Throughout his life, Xu Huang handled all matters with caution and great care.

He relied on discipline and order. He started his career as an official in

Hedong, where he was a courier between offices and was responsible for the

daily order of business. Later on, Gongming* followed Yang Feng and was

promoted to Cavalry Commander for his outstanding achievements in battle, and

was also titled as Lord of the Capital Precinct under the Han rule (1). When

Lord Cao set out to move the Emperor Xian from Chang An to Xu Chang, Yang Feng

and Han Xuan opposed him. Xu Huang rode forth and challenged Lord Cao’s forces,

wielding his trademark axe. Xu Chu was sent out to duel with him, but neither

man could get the advantage. Unwilling to fight against Xu Huang, Lord Cao used

Gongming’s old friend Man Chong to try and recruit Xu Huang into his army.

After much consideration, he left Yang Feng and helped Lord Cao establish the

new capital in Xu Chang. Xu Huang was successively appointed as Deputy General

and Auxiliary General. Gongming was a good friend of Zhang Liao, and also of

Guan Yu while the latter served Lord Cao. Together with Cao Hong, Xu Huang was

ordered to defend Tong Gate against the attack of Ma Chao. When Cao Hong fell

into Ma Chao’s trap, Xu Huang immediately rode forth to save his Lord’s nephew.

After the defeat of Ma Chao, Xu Huang chased Guan Yu and his son Guan Ping at

Yencheng. Guan Yu tried to appeal to Xu Huang by using their relationship,

however Gongming would not falter in his duties towards his Lord. For this,

Lord Cao admired him greatly. Under Emperor Cao Pi, Xu Huang was elevated to

the rank of General of the Right, and was titled Lord of Luxiang. Later after

defeating Liu Bei, he received the title of Lord of Yangping. In the year AD

227, Xu Huang joined Sima Yi in the campaign against Shu. When faced with Meng

Da, a general of Shu who agreed to defect to Wei, Xu Huang lost his temper and

riled at him, calling him a traitor. Meng Da answered with a volley of arrows,

and Gongming was critically injured. He died of wounds on his way back to the

capital, at the age of fifty-seven. Cao Pi posthumously titled him Courageous

    Lord.

*Gongming is Xu Huang's style name

    a lot of ground though.

ST: Xu Huang swings his axe in an upward motion, hitting them in the air,
    just enough to juggle them.

SST: Xu Huang continuallys swings his axe around him, good crowd clearer.
Press T more in order to do my swings. (Number of swings depends on what
type of weapon you have equipped)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Weapons are back to it was in Dynasty Warriors 3, if you don't know yet, in
order to get better weapons, you either have to defeat Officers or destroy
boxes to get Treasure boxes in order to gain a new weapon.(By the way,
weights for weapons #1-3 are random). In order to get your last and of coarse
best weapon, you need to fulfill certain requirements in order to gain it.

    Power: +4
Attacks: 4 (How many consecutive square hits you can use)

    How to Get:

Stage: Battle of Chang Ban(Must be done on Hard Mode)

How to Get: Defeat Zhang Fei and Guan Yu after Liu QI arrives with
    reinforcements

Strategy: 1st make sure you don't catch any bases that Liu Bei will come
across, DO capture the neutral bases nearest to you in beginning as it will
halt the advance of Zhou Cang which is a good thing. Also get the 2 last
neutral bases in the most south eastern part of the map. Then go back to battle
you will normally do (just make sure you don't kill Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, or Liu
Bei. Eventually Zhao Yun will catch up with Liu Bei and Guan Yu will come as
reinforcements and finally Zhang Fei will stop guarding the bridge to catch up
with his brothers. As Liu Bei marches to the most southern part of the map,
Liu Qi will arrived with more reinforcements. After this just go kill Guan Yu
and Zhang Fei to get the "Valuable item" found message. Check your Battlelog
in order to find where it is and get it. Then go back and go fight Liu Bei, be
careful though, he is accompanied by Zhao Yun which is powered up at this
moment. I recommend saving at this moment (if you didn't already), just in case
you mess up. Anyways, once you depatch of Zhao Yun, with a bit of effort, just
go defeat Liu Bei to finish this battle. Congratulations you defeated Battle of
Chang Ban and getting the Maruader!

    10. Frequently ask questions

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whats the best place to max out Xu Huang in order to get his 4th weapon easier?

I recommend doing any 5 star stage, as the officers give out the best stat
    increasers.

What are the best items for Xu Huang?

    What I gave him was:

    1. Tiger Amulet: More power means faster rate of killing people
    2. Peacock Urn: More life means the longer you can stay alive
    3. Tortoise Amulet: This along with Peacock Urn means more defense against
    enemy hits.
    4. Wind Scroll: Although not necessary, its recommended to use this because
why not have extra reach with Xu Huangs already long reach?
    5. Ginseng (or whatever comes to your mind), I picked this because it means
faster refilling of my musou which = more killing, but hey, its your choice.
