|  BACKGROUND  |
o**************o

Zhang Liao, once under the only Lu Bu, serves as one of Wei's most important
officers. His most famous stand was on the fields at He Fei, where he took down
Sun Quan's giant army with small numbers. KongMing's Archives
(www.kongming.net) provides the following biography:

"It is said that Zhang Liao was the descendant of Nie Yi of the Eastern Han
Dynasty. To avoid the envy and hatred of others however, the family name was
changed to Zhang. Zhang Liao started his career as an Aid to Ding Yuan. When
Zhang Liao returned to the Capital after recruiting soldiers for
Commander-in-Chief He Jin, Wenyuan learned of his assassination and allied
himself with Dong Zhuo, the general who occupied the territory.

Zhang Liao was appointed as Cavalry Commander and helped Lu Bu after the death
of Dong Zhuo. When Li Jue and Guo Si attacked and defeated Lu Buís forces,
Wenyuan fled with his Lord to Xu Zhou.

In the first year of Rebuilt Tranquility (AD 196), Zhang Liao took up the post
of Chancellor of Lu Kingdom at the age of twenty-eight. On Lu Buís orders,
Wenyuan fought against Liu Bei, Lord Cao and Yuan Shu. His skill in battle
caught the eye of many, and after the death of Lu Bu, Zhang Liao accepted the
post of Imperial Corps Commander under Lord Cao, and received the title of Lord
of the Second Rank. In addition, Lord Cao also appointed him as Deputy General
of the eastern forces.

When Lord Cao was attacking Zhang Lu in Han Zhong, Sun Quan took the
opportunity to invade He Fei. Zhang Liao defended so vigorously that the
civilians and the people on the Xiaoyao ferry-way were in awe of his strength.

For this, Lord Cao promoted Wenyuan to General Who Conquers the East. During
the reign of Cao Pi, Zhang Liao was elevated to the rank General of the Forward
Army and titled Lord of Jinyang.

Zhang Liao died of natural causes in the year AD 222 in Jiangdu County. Zhang
Liao was known as a brave and intelligent commander, his personal friends
included Guan Yu, Xu Huang and Lord Cao himself (1). His son Zhang Hu continued
to serve Wei as an officer. Cao Pi posthumously titled him Forthright Lord."

|  MOVESET  |
o***********o

Zhang Liao's moveset allows great coverage from all sides. His attacks are
damaging and effective, which makes Zhang Liao a great character to use. The
only place where he would falter is his significant Charge time and weapon
speed. This can leave Zhang Liao open for time to time if not used properly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Regular Attacks
His 6 regular attacks are wide but lack speed. The chart below explains each
[Getting Gold Wyvern]
Battle-Battle of He Fei
Side---Wei Forces
Goal---Your goal is to attain 750 kills or kill 9 officers before Cao Ren
       arrives as reinforcements.
Method-Killing 9 officers is the easiest method. First, head to the right of
       base in front of you and kill Man Chong, which is an officer serving
       Pan Zhang. Next, head past the base to meet Ding Feng and kill him as
       well. Now, cross the bridge and kill Pan Zhang. After killing Pan Zhang,
       head to the supply base and kill Zhou Fang. Head over and around the
       base where Zhu Huan is and kill him. By this time, Zhu Zhi should have
       crossed into your area. Kill him and go north across the bridge to the
       northmost bridge where Zhu Ran and Chen Wu should be. Kill them and if
       Gan Ning hasn't showed up yet wait for him to. When he shows up near the
       north center checkpoint, kill him, but watch out because he is in hyper
       mode and is ready launch Musou Rage. After that, Cao Cao should be safe
       from being killed, and the weapon should appear south of where the
       you earlier destroyed the bridge. The weapon is accessible from the
       south side so go there, get it, and kill Sun Quan.
