Version: 1.91
Update: 4-4-2006
Very minor update. Golden Straw has been added, and Bomba location has been
elaborated on, since there has been some slight confusion regarding it.

Version: 1.90
Update: 3-12-2006
Added a few more of the missing items. Put some things into the arena section.
I've decided not to elaborate on the Eres stone section, mostly because there
is already a comprehensive guide up specifically for that now, and it is
probably better than anything I'm willing to spend an extensive amount of time
on, anyway. I think there are a couple more peddlers tucked away somewhere
that I haven't gone back and found, though...

Version: 1.70
Update: 2-24-2006
Fixed a few things, and added something rather important: Item locations. I'm
sure they're mostly correct, but I'd gather that I probably inadvertantly got
a couple wrong here or there. Arena section is still bare (for those of you
who emailed me with some info, just wait, it's coming....) But I feel the
locations are something very much needed. No locations for Eres stones yet,
however...

Version: 0.85
First Edition 2-19-2006
Most of everything is done. I've only got about, 90%+ of the items, but I'm
missing a handful of them. I'll either add them later, when I find them, or
someone can email me with the names and stats. (And will be credited, of
course.) I actually started the guide back in December of 2005/January 2006,
with the Japanese version, but I only had the statistical values for most
items, and about, half the item names themselves translated. I figured I'd
wait anyway, because some of the item names would probably be changed anyway.
I also decided not to count recipies, as there is already a compiled Recipie
guide, and I also left out locations, but if I really feel up to it, I could
eventually include those in a later update, if there is popular demand for it.

================
1.) Introduction
================

I made this guide for a couple reasons. One, I love the Tales games, and I
think one of the more interesting features of the series is all of the
different items and equipment you come across on your travels througout the
game. This guide is for two main purposes; for people like me who like to
collect each and every item, and also for a sort of quick reference to the
people who are just interested in what the best items are of each type. This
isn't meant to show the specific locations of each item (though, I might
eventually put the locations too), but rather, mostly thier statistical values
and such.

===============
2.) About Items
===============

I want to first start out by saying that anybody who has played an RPG knows
about items and their functions. Items are anything you find along your
journey: Weapons, armor, healing medicines, etc. as well as items that are
necessary in progressing the plot, often refered to as 'Key' or 'important'
items. Similar to other games in the Tales series, you can carry as many items
as you can find, however, you can only carry 15 of that same item. (The only
exception being Eres stones.) This limits you somewhat, as you'll often find
yourself rationing out healing items, so you don't run out.

Items are obtained in many ways; Found in dungeons, sold in shops, dropped by
monsters, or awarded in some way. So, it always pays to search every corner of
each dungeon, or pay a visit to the shops to get upgraded equipment, or
replentish your healing item inventory.

I've also now added the locations for most items. If you've played the game,
you'll undoubtedly know that the game has two parts: The Main Quest, and the
Character Quests. As you explore the Legacy, you'll come across chests
located in various parts of dungeons. During the main quests, you can pillage
these chests for nice items. During the second half of the game (the
Character Quests, of course) you'll revisit many areas, but the treasure
chests will have respawned with entirely new items. I've listed each item,
and where in can be found. I haven't listed the SPECIFIC spot an item is
located, in detail, but I have listed what items are located in each area, and
which half of the game you'll find them in. I've also listed the boss-drops as
well. Items that you find, that you can eventually buy in shops are described
as such. So, even if you can technically find an item in a dungeon, and buy
it later in a shop, it's only listed as being sold in a shop.

=========
3.) Tools
=========

Tools serve different purposes, but they are divided into a few different
groups, such as; healing items, stat-increasing items (battle), stat-increas-
ing items (herbal/perminant), and customization items. Most of them are fairly
common (such as healing items) and can be bought at stores. One good thing
is that, in the Tales series, healing items go off of a percentage system, so
even the earliest healing items are still very useful, as opposed to some
other RPGs, where the potions you find at the beginning of the game, and cure
you for 100 HP or something, become completely useless and obsolete later.
Other items, such as the herbal-based, stat-increasing items, and items used
specifically for the customization shop are a bit more rare to come by, so you
should hang on to them for when you really need them.

4.) Weapons
===========

Though it goes without saying, you equip weapons to increase the amount of
damage you do to your enemies. Often, weapons also give you other little
benefits, such as causing status ailments on enemies, or dealing certain
elemental-based damage, so it's good to check enemy weaknesses from time to
time. Some weapons are quite rare, while others you can easily buy from shops.
Obviously, the more powerful they are, the harder they will be to find...

10.) Eres Stones
================

In Tales of Legendia, your characters not only need to be at a certain level
to learn a new spell (or 'Crystal Eres'), but they also need the correct
number of Eres Stones, which are obtained by defeating enemies. They are not
used as items, nor are they actually used on the characters themselves. Note
that Eres stones don't have a limit to how many you can carry, since you need
hundreds, sometimes thousands to gain a new spell. Will, Norma, Grune, and
Shirley all learn new Crystal Eres from stones. Keep in mind that any enemy of
that'race' can drop the stones of that type.

11.) Shops
==========

Shops are located in the various towns in Legendia. However, there are also
traveling merchants you'll find in various areas as well, so you can restock
in some areas without having to travel back to town. Keep in mind that some
of the shops will upgrade their wares from time to time, so check in often.
That being the case, when you initially go to a shop, every item I've got
listed here might not be available to you right away....

Obviously, the number listed to the right of the item is the amount of Gald it
costs.

you'll gain access to the Crafting/Customization shop. You don't pay any gald
for anything, but you'll usually need several items to create even one item in
the shop. It's a good idea to keep most of the items you find throughout the
game, as you may find that you sold an item that you need to make that super-
powerful armor, and you can't get another. It's an especially good idea to
hang onto the Herbal stat-increasing items, as well as any items that have
something about customization in their description, as they will become very
important in the craft shop, and you won't be able to find very many of them
to begin with...The Shop also gets one upgrade when you're at the end of
Grune's character quest. At that time, you'll be able to make many of the most
powerful weapons and armor in the game here. So, I've listed the items, and
the ingredients you'll need to make them in this section, obviously.

13.) Arena
==========

Also during the character quests, you'll have access to the arena, in the
basement of the Werites Inn. Similar to past Tales games, there is a single
battle mode, where you chose one character to battle, and a party battle mode
in which you obviously use your whole party. The prizes aren't so great until
you get to the highest rank (Advance in single match, the Special single match
Advance party match, and Party Special match.) These higher ranks will get
you some nice accessories, and the Advance single match will get you a weapon
or armor that is the best for the character that you won that round in the
arena with.

To start out, I'm just going to say that I'm only going to list the 'advance'
and 'special' rank prizes, since the beginner and intermedite ranks just get
you items you can buy in the store (like Gels, life bottles and those other
temporary stat-raising bottles).

Single Advance
--------------
To win each item, you'll have to beat the entire advance ranking with that
character, and that character only. The prizes for each character are as
follows;

Senel:      Mumbane (Armor)
Chloe:      Golden Armor (Armor)
Will:       Mjolnir (Weapon)
Norma:      Golden Straw (Weapon)
Moses:      Gungnir (Weapon)
Jay:        Ninja Mask (Helmet)
Grune:      Purple Hood (Helmet)
Shirley:    Shaman Dress (Armor)

You'll also win 30000 gald in addition to the item.

Single Special
--------------
Single Special is a bit different, because you can actually beat that rank
with anyone, but the prize will always be the same. Note that you can only
fight this battle once;

Heaven's Claw (Weapon) for Senel.

You'll also win 500000 Gald in addition to the item.

Party Advance
-------------
The party battles are pretty straightforward. The four 'active' characters in
your party will fight in the battle, obviously. The prizes are;

Extreme (Accessory)
Elixir

You'll also win 60000 Gald in addition to the items.

Party Special
-------------
Again, it's straight forward, and like the other battles, and like single
special, you can only fight this battle once;

Krona Symbol (accessory)

You'll also win 1000000 Gald in addition to the item.

14.) Tales Lore
===============

As many people are somewhat aware, most Tales games have references to other
games in the series, more often than not, through character cameos. Legendia
sadly doesn't have any cameos, but there are a few Items that appear that are
important to the plots of previous games. Now, I'm not talking about common
items that are reoccuring, like the Exaclibur, or Golden armor, but ones that
are a bit more specific in nature. This section isn't for any practical
purpose, but it's just to help people notice and understand the little 'easter
eggs,' so to speak.

Last Fencer
-----------
The Last Fencer first appear in Tales of Eternia. It was a plot-specific
weapon, that you needed to beat a certain boss, if I remember correctly. The
Last Fencer has come up from time to time in other games as a reference, but
it originated in Eternia.

Eternal Sword
-------------
People who have Played Symphonia should recognize this weapon pretty easily.
However, it actually first appeared in Tales of Phantasia, and it's purpose
was almost exactly the same as it is in Symphonia. It's a powerful weapon that
allows the wielder to somewhat control the flow of time. It's made up of two
component swords--The Flamberge and the Vorpal Sword, swords of fire and Ice,
respectively. The Eternal Sword also makes an appearence in Tales of Eternia,
as what is debatably the best weapon for Rid/Reid.

Unicorn Horn
------------
The unicorn horn was an item that was plot-related, that you had to find in
both Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Symphonia. It's generally associated
with having great healing powers, and that's pretty much what the description
for it says in this game.

Aifread's Hat
-------------
Aifread's name actually pops up from time to time in just about every Tales
game, but you never really see the guy, usually. He's just some legendary
pirate who has left countless treasure troves around the world, and usually
you can undertake sidequests to look for these hordes of spoils. In Legendia,
Aifread was apparently around at some time, because one of his ship-mates
resides in Werites. Defeat all (or most) of the rare monsters he tells you
about, and you'll get Aifread's hat.

Skeleton Mask
-------------
Chloe's best helmet, the Skeleton mask, is actually the same mask that Judas
wore in Tales of Destiny 2, to hide his identity. Infact, after you equip the
mask, you'll get a skit in which Chloe runs around yelling and insulting the
other party members, like a certain other character....
