I. Introduction / About this FAQ
++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This FAQ is Story Mode FAQ. That is, it will show you how to get a certain 
ending. Unlike Guilty Gear XX (and #Reload), the ending does not entirely 
depend on your performance. You have to choose how a character will respond. 
In some cases, that will just change the way the other character responds. You 
might get away with fighting that guy; you might end up fighting him/her 
regardless of choices, but your opponents will be different. Of course, it can 
definitely affect your endings. I realise that there is no official guide and 
no accurate info about Story Mode. In fact, some FAQ's were inaccurate and 
I had to figure some of them by myself! I hope this FAQ can save some trouble.

However, this is not a complete FAQ. I might have IK-ed an opponent within 30 
seconds, and I write "IK this person." But it might actually be "normal 
victory within 30 seconds." Furthermore, I might have completed the pre-
requisite ending before I tackle another character's ending, and assumed that 
there are not pre-requisites. 

Finally, this is NOT a move list guide; this is NOT a combo list guide either. 
This is only Story Mode guide. Consult other guide for this. My main interest 
is knowing each character's story, not combos, competitive play, etc.

II. Notations!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Time to get familiar with abbreviations.

(NV): Normal Victory. Will be used only if it MUST be normal victory.
(OV): Overdrive Victory. The move that kills an opponent must be an overdrive.
(IK): Instant Kill. You must IK this opponent.
(AIK): IK all the opponents whom I mentioned before this label appears.

(12): Regardless of what you choose, you get to fight him/her. 
(1): Choose the first/top one.
(2): Choose the second/bottom one.
(1?): If you chose the first one, go to this path.
(2?): If you chose the second one, go to this path.

(NCW): No Continue Whatsoever. 
       This means you should NOT retry ANY of the opponents 
       up to the point I specified.
(CTS): Continue Somewhere (or at some point). 
       This means you should retry at least one of the fights 
      until the point I specified.

(>"N"): More than N seconds should be left when you win.
(<"N"): Less than N seconds should be left when you win.
(TU): Time Up. Make sure you have more health than the opponent!

(PRQ:Character(ending #)): 
Pre-requisite ending required. Some endings require
pre-requisite endings that parallel (or is related to) 
the specific  ending. For instance, if Baiken's 2nd ending 
is a pre-req to I-No's 2nd ending, then it is (PRQ: BKN2).

(NPRQ): No Pre-requisite.
If you don't have that prerequisite ending, you will be directed
to this route.

(else): if multiple conditions are not satisfied, you will be directed to
	this route.

(+): Positive ending. Music for happy endings plays if you unlock this ending.
(o): Neutral ending. Music for normal endings plays if you unlock this ending.
(-): Negative ending. Music for bad endings plays if you unlock this ending.

(REG): The opponent regenerates (whether this is Gold Mode power or not).
(GLD): The opponent has Gold Mode powers.
(<enter fraction here>): the character starts the battle with less health, 
			 i.e. fraction * total health, not counting damage 
			      taken in preliminary actions.

(>(fraction)): Your character should have more than this amount of health
               remaining by the time you defeat the opponent.
(<(fraction)): Your character should have less than this amount of health
               remaining by the time you defeat the opponent.

Other info about specific stages will be posted in notes.
And from time to time, I couldn't help giving a slight hint or writing a 
personal opinion about some endings. Feel free to ignore them if you want :)

III. Special Credits

I decided to make this special section to thank particular members who
pointed out certain errors. That is, people listed here are the ones
who directly helped me improve this FAQ.

1. Ryan Worcester & Michael Bonds
My thanks for pointing out missing parts of May's story path.
You have to choose the first option AND defeat all the opponents
up to the second (Boss) I-No without continue.

2. Bryant Ruano
Thank you very much for filling in missing parts of Axl's story path.
If you defeat I-No with an overdrive, you will be directed to a different
route.
He also pointed out that info on Sol's story needs to be modified.
When fighting with Slayer, if you choose the first option AND Instant
Kill Slayer, that will directly lead to I-No; even though you never use
Continues, you will get a bad ending (Path 2) no matter what. Otherwise,
You will fight Faust; of course, you need to defeat all the fights w/o
Continues to get the good ending (Path 1).

3. Blake Rodriguez
Thanks for pointing out missing pieces in Bridget's story line.
If you defeat Zappa with more than half of his health remaining, you will
get to fight with Baiken, and the rest follows. Otherwise, you bump into
Faust instead. Note that there is no way that you can get a good ending
(Path 1).
