Ok, here is my review on Persona 4. In this game, they took out the most controversial thing in Persona 3: the guns and replaced them with cards. Now onto the review.
The story here is simple. You play as a guy from the city who recently moved to Inaba. You then find out there has been a series of serial murders. But you are not alone, along with friends you make through your journey, you find out the truth. This may sound like a boring story, but story is not important, it is gameplay.
The most important part of any game. Once you survive the slow beginning, you don't want to put this game down. it is that addictive. While you and your friends investigate the murders, you have to rescue people who gets thrown in a alternate world located inside a tv. There are also social links from P3 to power up your persona. The best part of this game that they fixed from the last game is direct control. Basically, you get to control your party member's actions. so this game is addictive the first time you put this game in your PS2.
The graphics here are so last gen. you have a few anime cutscenes and the in-game graphics look nice. but the graphics here are good for a PS2 game.
The music in this game is good. Especially the boss battle and regular battle theme. The voice acting matches the characters perfectly. You will enjoy the soundtrack this game has to offer.
The characters in this game you will like. Even if they live part from each other, they have a closer bond then your party members from Persona 3. Proof of that is when you power up your party member's social links, they can help you out in battle like take a fatal blow for you. The people you meet includes a famous store manager's son, a girl who loves kung fu movies, and the daughter of the manager of a famous inn. Point is you form a close bond with them and others.
In conclusion, this game is fun. I guarantee you will love it the first time around. Also this game is long and even if you beat the game, you will still have fun playing this. So if you have a PS2, this will be a great addition to your pile.
