How does one launch a large projectile from the mask in 2 player mode?

As a side mission you need to launch a large projectile form the mask and we just can't seem to figure it out. Can anyone help??? Thanks

If you look in co-op tutorial mode, it'll say spin the right analog stick, then fire, make sure you already have your target because if you wait too long it will go away
