Question from ScuxdeluxeNZ
How to beat chaos witch quelaag without drake sword?
So my drakesword broke and I'm running out of humanity to summon man eater Mildred, should I go all the way back to the blacksmith?

Nah, just use any old sword and get some skill ;)
If you cant then go to the blacksmith via the waterwheel shortcut
If possible just summon help. She's pretty easy with a second human player helping. There's usually plenty signs near the bonfire just before the waterwheel.
Quelaag isn't much of a problem with any weapon so long as you avoid fire on the ground. It just may take you longer depending on the strength of whatever weapon you use. I had normal mobility (25-50% load), and I pretty much just leave my shield up and backpedal from her when she comes up close and uses her sword attacks. If you keep a steady backpedal, they shouldn't hit you at all but your shield is up in case something slips through on you. You may have to roll dodge for her lunging attack, but it is very highly telegraphed and shouldn't pose a problem. The only attack you need to be ready for is the AoE roar, which can deal a bunch of damage if you aren't blocking. Otherwise, just wait until the spider part is spraying lava, get behind her, and wail away until she turns around. Rinse, repeat.
Stay in close, to the sword arm side of the spider's head. Here, with a little attention paid to the boss's actions, you're not going to get hit by anything. You don't need Maneater Mildred or any other partners, this boss is a cakewalk. From point blank on that side of the spider's head, none of the sword attacks or lava will hit you. The only thing to watch out for is the attack where the spider stabs its legs into the ground, and, when she hugs the spider, back away, that's the explosion attack.
The best weapon for me at this stage on the game is the windged spear, which you can take on the cemetery near firelink shrine. That way you can do attacks with the shield on, taking less damage when the dodge doesn't work. Do big circle moves which the target lock on her and that way (and taking some attention) you escape the lava floor, stay near but at a certain distance to avoid the fire attacks and attack with both hands by her side on the moment that this monster launch a new lava floor. Be patient and you can do this. Oh, and don't be too distant, or she will jump and split lava, doing big damage.
Upgrade a weapon of your liking to +5. then take it to rickert, the blacksmith out side of new londo,(place with ghosts) and upgrade it to magic. quelaag is weak to magic. equip a fire resistant shield and armor.
You may have an item called Gold Pine Resin.
You know what to do.
No, don't go all the way back just fight her with some other sword
she's not too difficult, just stay out of the fire and watch her sword swings
If you're at Quelaag's Domain then you're getting to the point where you should stop using the drake sword anyways
That depends on your build really. But this point I was at level 35 and a faith based character. So I had 20 faith. I just used lightning spear while Maneater Mildred Distracted her. Then when she was near death just went in for the kill.
