    Version History [VER00]
    Everything Else [EVE00]
Binary Domain is a very linear game, any branching paths will shortly lead to
dead-ends, so it isn't really necessary for a guide to detail the route through
the game, in fact after the first couple of stages all of the standard, easy
encounters not worthy of note won't be mentioned. This guide will however
contain locations for all the shops and collectibles, item locations during
boss fights, strategies for dealing with bosses and new enemy types and tips
throughout to help with maxing trust levels and unlocking all the missable
trophies, as well dealing with any other optional or hidden stuff in the game.
The walkthrough is spoiler-free, so feel free to look ahead a paragraph or two
at a time to make sure you don't miss anything. There is a spoiler filled
section after the walkthrough though that details different possible
variations on the ending and their requirements, please avoid that section
    until you've completed the game.
The trust system affects both how your AI squad plays and certain parts of the
Trust is earned and lost based on combat performance, actions and dialog
choice. There's also a nanomachine that can be purchased from a civilian in
2-3 that grants an extra 5% gain in trust each time you earn some.
Combat performance: Killing quickly, efficiently and getting headshot, double,
triple, multi, one-shot and smash kills will impress the team and earn you some
trust with them, reviving downed teammates gains trust as well. Really slow and
poor combat performance can sometimes get a negative reaction, though it's not
that big of a deal and it's never that hard. Accidentally shooting teammates
(even when they walk right in front of your bullets) will result in lost trust.
Actions: These are different throughout the game, but they're basically about
playing the game well. Doing things before teammates point them out and
agreeing to and then following through with them also earns the player more
Dialog choice: The correct answer is almost always to agree with your squad
and tell them what they want to hear. Sometimes after battles e a squad member
will tell you how awesome you are and your reply can gain or lose trust, after
battles you can also sometimes gain trust by telling the team "Good job" or
other phrases. When in doubt 90% of the time the bottom answer spoken with the
cross button is the one to go with. Some choices don't really get a reaction,
though others can get a negative reaction and lose you some trust with that
    character or the whole squad.
You'll be able to see when trust is earned or lost by whether three blue or red
arrows appear briefly next to the character's name on screen. You can check
trust levels in the pause menu via the status option, LOW is below one bar,
NORMAL is two bars or more, HIGH is three bars or more and VERY HIGH is above
    three bars of trust.
There are missable scenes (see below section) and different outcomes for the
ending that are defined by trust levels, if you want the most positive
outcome aim to have VERY HIGH trust level with everyone.
    Missable Trophies
If you're collecting trophies there are several things to note before starting,
you will have to play through the game at least twice, hard mode isn't that
challenging though so if you're experienced with shooters I suggest starting on
Survivor difficulty. Survivor difficulty MUST be beaten in order to unlock No
    Mercy difficulty.
SECURITY-COM collectibles do not have to be collected all in one playthrough,
you can use chapter select on any difficulty to get any you missed and chapter
select lets you know how many you've collected and missed in each stage. If you
go into a stage from chapter select and collect a SECUR-COM you can quit
immediately after, it'll auto-saves that you've picked it up.
The Skill Master trophy requires getting all nanomachines in one playthrough,
this is easily missable, though the vast majority of nanomachines are bought
from shops, very few are picked up. Also, don't forget to equip them in the
status part of the pause menu whenever you get some new ones (it all works
pretty much like dumbed down support materia, for those who played FFVII).
For the Shop Master trophy they don't all have to be accessed in the same
playthrough, but unless you have a good idea of which stages you may have
missed them in it's definitely recommended to try to get this in a single
playthrough, it's also necessary to access many of them to purchase
nanomachines. You do not have to purchase anything for it to register as
accessed, though if you choose to load checkpoint or you die and have to
restart a checkpoint you should access any shop you accessed after the
    checkpoint before you died/loaded again.
    Missable Character Trophies
There's a missable scene in 4-4 tied to the *A Private Moment* trophy. Some
people are reporting that they got this scene with little trust, others have
not, in my personal experience testing this I've always got the scene when I've
correctly answered her dialog choices and had her at VERY HIGH trust level and
I've not got it when I've had her at HIGH or lower trust level.
Like above, there's also a missable trophy for Bo, *Comrades in Arms*, that
requires having a VERY HIGH trust level with him before 6-2.
    Farming and Trust
There are a few spots where if you hang back you can fight infinitely
respawning enemies, this is good for farming CR, earning trust and getting
one-shots, multi-kills etc towards the combat trophies. There is one spot in
particular at the end of chapter 2 that makes it very easy to max the trust of
the two squad members with you, this and other points like this are noted in
the walkthrough, the best spots are in 2-4, 2-5, 3-1 and 5-3.
It is possible to max everyone's trust in a single playthrough, but you need to
choose wisely who you bring with you whenever you choose your squad, for
example in 2-5 you should choose the squad members with the most trust, as you
have to go back for the other teammates later and they'll be with you when you
get to the farming spot to max their trust. I recommend not focusing on maxing
everyone's in your first playthrough, focus on the characters you like playing
with and learn the layout of the game first, if you're going for the trophies
that require ax trust you can get the rest on your second playthrough.
Lastly, as mentioned in the above section having VERY HIGH trust with everyone
will lead to the most positive outcome, it will also lead to having more squad
members available for a couple of fights later on.
As stated in the introduction, after the first couple of stages this guide
won't point out any of the obvious ammo, medkits or other supplies or give
strategies for the many basic battles throughout the game. It's also spoiler-
free so you can read on a paragraph or two ahead if you want to make sure you
    don't miss anything.
Next to the title for each stage there'll be a note of how many SECUR-COM and
SHOPS to look out for as well as nanomachines (NANOS), both those picked up and
available for purchase (excluding those that should be sold out as they were
purchasable in previous stages). If you missed something in a stage or you
aren't happy with your performance then don't worry, pause the game and choose
'LOAD CHAPTER' - choose the stage again and you'll be back at that point with
everything you had at the beginning of that stage (upgrades, nanomachines,
    trust levels etc).
                                 CHAPTER 1: HIT AND RUN
    1-1 Odaiba, Tokyo Bay (2 SECUR-COM, 0 SHOPS, 0 NANOS) [CHP11]
Take Big Bo's tutorial then move ahead, when walking through the destroyed bus
answer Big Bo with 'Definitely' to gain some trust. Straight after you leave
the bus you'll see the first SECUR-COM collectible on the back of the car.
A little farther ahead is your first confrontation, follow Big Bo's advice to
gain some trust. In combat you can gain the trust of your teammates by
impressing them with quick kills and by getting lots of kills that award bonus
CR (the game's currency), like headshots and melee kills. Get to grips with the
controls, if you know what you're doing with a third person shooter you can aim
for the heads, destroying them will make the decapitated robots turn on its
allies and distract the whole group.
After dealing with the first group of enemies ahead you'll notice a barrier, on
your left near the car is a pad that refills your Bosonic Charge for your Shock
Blast attack, stand on it to see your gauge in the top right fill up and
unleash your shock blast on the barrier ahead by holding R2 and letting go when
    it's charged.
Ahead Bo warns of the surveillance bots, taken them out to gain some of his
trust, or you can let them see you if you want to fight some more.
The next event will be a huge white robot called a Grand Lancer popping out,
you need to run past it but first you should run into the gap on the right wall
it broke through and pick up the second SECUR-COM collectible in this stage.
Catch up to Bo and follow him off the edge when prompted to press circle.
Follow Bo and hold circle when prompted, the three minute timer in this
swimming section is very generous, so keep it stealthy to avoid robots hanging
from flying transporter pods coming for you. The *Seek and Destroy* trophy will
    1-2 Seawall Interior (2 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 5 NANOS) [CHP12]
Follow Big Bo and when prompted aim the wire gun directly up and shoot the
flashing red area above. Move forwards into the red-lit corridor and a flashing
little suitcase will be obvious on some crates, this is your first NANO pack,
collecting and purchasing all of these in a single playthrough will get you a
trophy. Equip it by pressing start, choosing status, choosing the character
whose nanomachines you wish to change and then pressing triangle and arranging
Ahead listen to Big Bo's tutorial and fight your way across the bridge, take
the right towards the end and when you go up the few steps there'll be a
SECUR-COM on your left and some grenades on a crate nearby.
Continue and up the elevator Big Bo will point out the game's first SHOP,
accessing all of these in the game will unlock a trophy and it's necessary to
check them all to purchase nanomachines and weapon upgrades, more of which
become available as you progress and reach new shops. I recommend prioritising
the nanomachines, other than that with spare money I recommend upgrading Dan's
rifle's accuracy and firepower to make headshots easier and quicker. Purchase
the nanomachines here and the *A Friend Indeed* trophy will unlock, purchase an
upgrade for Dan's rifle and unlock the *Weapon Crafter trophy*. After making a
purchase you'll hear a sound and see a game of chance play on the shop monitor,
you want it to land on the green or blue third and award you a prize of ammo,
grenades, medkit or charge that it'll spit out from the bottom, if you win
you'll also unlock the *Jackpot* trophy, this game will play out every time
    you purchase something.
Ahead is another encounter, there's a gas cylinder to the right of the machine
gun nest high up at the back of the room, shoot it to take the gunner out,
there's also an enemy on the floor above on the right side of the room. Impress
Bo with your skills then stay near him when he starts talking about how badass
you are, answer with "My bad" to gain some trust, these little convos will
happen after firefights sometimes, depending on if you play well or badly
teammates may praise or scold you.
Follow Bo into the next room then take the left towards the control panel, you
need to use it to move the container all the way to the right, turn it 90
degrees and drop it to make a bridge, if you want to avoid an encounter though
you'll have to keep getting off whenever you see red lasers as surveillance
bots will fly in from the left and in front multiple times. Move ahead and when
Bo talks to you answer with "Yeah" and "Sure" to gain trust.
Take the brief detour right to grab an SMG if you like then head into the next
room, notice where the green robots you first encounter in this room are, kill
everything in your way then go ahead down the small stairs and up the small
stairs ahead of them, now do a U-turn so that you're heading towards where
those green robots were, up the small stairs next to them is a SECUR-COM
document to collect, once you have it turn around and go through the door into
the next room which contains a SHOP.
When Bo asks, tell him "Charge", open the door and stay in cover or take cover
near the window and shoot through it, use your shock shot on the big black
robot and while it's stunned hammer its face with your assault rifle until it
loses its head. Check the other room you can go into if you like and then when
prompted use the lever near the giant shutter.
        BOSS: Grand Lancer [BOS01]
You won't be defeating it the conventional way, so no need to waste ammo on it.
Firstly, from where you entered the room there's a medkit in the dead-end on
the left, one on the right and one on the left that stand out in the center of
the room, one if you go through the opening in the middle of the room on the
right, one if you go through the opening a little farther up and on the left
side of the room and another up the ladder on the left at the far end of the
Evade the Lancer and go up the ladder at the far end of the room, use the
control panel and move the container so that you can drop it directly on top of
the Lancer to stun it. Press cross to get off the panel, now roll off the
platform you're on and roll as you hit the ground to keep moving, head straight
to the big door opposite the control panel and use the switch to the left of
it. Or instead of all that you can just run to the door and use your shock shot
    on the Lancer.
Go straight ahead and there's another medkit near the ladder. Climb the ladder
and head down the path, kill any of the little robo-spiders in your way, if any
get on you roll to try and nudge them off before they damage you. Climb the
next ladder and use the control panel to destroy the Grand Lancer with some
    1-3 Seawall, Tokyo Bay (2 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 5 NANOS) [CHP13]
Do your best to avoid hitting the pipes and hold circle when prompted, at the
third point where you need to duck hold it down longer as you'll be going under
three of those barriers in a row, when you finish sliding you'll get the *Water
    Slider* trophy.
Ahead after the firefight if Bo gives you another talk about how you're totally
knallhart, answer with "Yeah" and move ahead, on a girder in front of the junk
you have to climb over you'll see a NANO case to collect.
In the next section grab the sniper rifle Bo points out and answer his strategy
with "Roger", proceed to snipe each sniper, they're pretty obvious due to their
laser sights. Moving up you'll see a SHOP on the right, there's some supplies
in the adjacent building and outside on the opposite side of the building to
    the shop there's a SECUR-COM to collect.
The shutters ahead will open when you get close and inside you can follow the
road to your next destination, make sure to access the SHOP on the right side
once you take care of the first set of enemies. Walk along the road and answer
Bo with "I got it" and "No" to gain some trust, then get on the nearby pad and
refill your charge, grab the shield on the floor if you like but for the next
bit you may as well spam your shock charge and keep recharging it, go to the
button by the shutter when you're ready to face a wave of shield enemies.
Blindfire your shock charge from cover to give you a little time to shoot them
while their shields are knocked back, if you've upgraded your shock charge then
they may drop their shields. You can also throw grenades near them for kills or
to get them to drop their shield, or you can shoot at any exposed parts like
their feet or arms, or just throw grenades.
After the scene answer Bo with "No problem" then when the enemies arrive and Bo
drops off the ledge stay where you are, let Bo take the heat while you fire
down on the big one from above, if you still have the sniper rifle take its
head off so that it attacks friendlies. When you drop down on your left in the
corner is a SECUR-COM to collect.
                              CHAPTER 2: YEARN FOR REFUGE
    2-1 Shibuya Slums (1 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 10 NANOS) [CHP21]
From now on you'll get to choose your squad at certain points, so conversations
may go differently, if you want to gain trust though almost always the
positive, most agreeable reply is the best one, as opposed to the replies that
disagree or seem arrogant or odd to reply with. It's not a big deal if you get
one wrong, but if you get a few wrong and you're not happy with how you played
you can always pause the game and choose to load checkpoint. For now pick
whoever you like, though I recommend not choosing both Bo and Faye together.
Follow the team and give the agreeable answers to gain some trust, if you take
Bo and Faye though giving Bo the answer that gains his trust will lose some of
Faye's, also when you get to the first enemies agreeing to Bo's plan will gain
his trust but lose Faye's. As you exit ahead there's a waist high platform with
a NANOCASE and to the right of the linear path ahead there's a SHOP.
You'll have to fight your way up the street. A little way up the street
there'll be a sniper rifle on a blue stand to the right you can use to take out
the sniper at the end of the street, when you're near the sniper rifle look to
the left side of the street, there are some stairs, go up them to find a
Carry on to the bottom of the street and enter the building on the left. There
are two robots at the top of the stairs after defeating them your squadmates
will jump out the window, let them draw the next wave of enemies' fire while
you take most of them out from inside. When you're ready jump out the window.
        BOSS: Grand Lancer [BOS02]
There's plenty of ammo and sticky grenades in this area as well as a rocket
launcher on the ground floor of the right building and a SHOP on the floor
above that (if you've been buying all the nanomachines so far, this trip to the
shop will probably get you the *Spendthrift* trophy). You won't need much of
the supplies around this area, just grab sticky grenades from the second floor
and any ammo you need from the back of the APC near the window you jumped out
    of for now.
Use the rocket launcher or sticky grenades to take the armour off its head, if
you're at ground level watch out for its melee attack. Next you want to head to
the roof of the right building. When you get there enemies will appear at the
same level in the opposite building, shoot the yellow canisters to make quick
work of them, more may come a couple of times though so if you start getting
hit on the roof go into cover and take them out before focusing on the boss
With the Lancer's head armour off keep firing at the little blue weak spot on
the big bit at the top above and behind its face from you're position on top of
the roof, the blue weak spot should stand out in the center of the plate above
the enemy's face, you'll know when you're hitting the weakspot as the sparks
produced will be golden instead of blue. If you want to stun the boss you can
use shock shots with your assault rifle's R2 attack if you have any charge for
As instructed, you can shoot the electric cable above to land in the big puddle
below when the Lancer walks there, this will stun it briefly and allow some
    easy shots on its weakspot.
Once the boss has moved up to the T-junction at some point you'll have a
conversation about jumping on top of it and you'll be prompted to press circle,
you'll then jump onto its head and get the *Jumper* trophy, while on here
you'll have infinite ammo for your rifle. As prompted aim and fire to spray
into its weakspot. Whenever it tries to shake you off let go of the aim and
shoot buttons and hold the left analog stick in the opposite direction to the
way you look to be falling in order to keep balance. Keep attacking its
    weakspot and it'll go down.
    2-2 Rotary (Bar) (2 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 4 NANOS) [CHP22]
Pick your squad and follow them to the big open area, here there'll be a robot
with a big green eye and some plot armour, face the same direction the robot
faces and at 11 o'clock you'll see a SHOP. Your squad will notice this 'Serv
Bot' and it'll start preparing some fuel, when the dropship comes get a triple
kill with the first three enemies before they even leave it by using a shock
charge attack. As always go for the transport pods carrying enemies instead of
    the enemies holding onto them.
When your teammate has taken the fuel to the shutter go ahead and blow it up.
Move forwards and follow the left wall inside the building full of whatever
that silver crap is, you'll get to a SECUR-COM near two doors, then head
opposite those two doors to in front of the APC to head onwards.
When the building's falling there's nothing to collect on this path so outrun
the debris and hit circle when the slide's in the blue bit of the bar when the
QTE comes up. In the following conversation you'll probably notice that 90% of
the time the cross button seems to get the best response.
Follow the team and up the first set of stairs head forwards to the SHOP. When
you get to the top agree with your teammates and cover the left, then when
you're finished here follow them across the walkway into the building, use
shock shots on the shield bots and the heavy gunner then take its head off or
grenade the group. You have to fall off the bridge at the next bit.
        BOSS: SPIDER [BOS03]
Where your teammates take cover you'll see a rocket launcher and your first set
of rocket launcher ammo boxes, the grey ones, there's more ammo in the cover a
short run to the right of this area too and hidden around all the various cover
in this area. If you run right of where the spider is initially you'll see a
large building with metal stairs going up a couple of floors, up the first set
is a SHOP, past that up more stairs there's a ladder that leads to a SECUR-COM
in the corner. Leave this building and head past the building into the nearby
corner of this map and you'll see a couple of medkits as well as another rocket
    launcher and some ammo.
There are two ways to tackle the spider, for both you have to shoot the armour
off the legs on the outside of it, each has a blue weakspot to shoot underneath
the armour so once it's exposed you can gun or rocket launcher it until it
blows and the leg is taken off.
The first way is to take off two legs that are next to each other, notice the
body will tilt exposing the weakspot underneath in the middle, this doesn't
take much fire to destroy and will end the fight there. The other way is to
destroy all eight legs (this method unlocks a trophy), on harder difficulties
some players may find this the easier way, doing it this way when you run out
of rocket launcher ammo you can head back to the building and shoot at the legs
from the ground floor, heading underneath the stairs here will make it easy to
avoid the missiles it'll send out.
Personally I find the first method easier and quicker.
If you defeat the boss by destroying all eight of its legs the *Spider Killer*
    trophy will unlock.
    2-3 Shibuya Underground (0 SECUR-COM, 1 SHOP, 16 NANOS) [CHP23]
You're in a safe area, feel free to chat with the nearby prostitute or the
local punters by getting close to them and holding triangle when prompted. This
place has plenty of opportunity to gain trust with your squad if you give them
the right answers. Yuki is the way out here, so you want to speak to everyone
    else first.
Before talking to your team talk to the guy in the red vest near Rachael, he
has something to sell, tell him "OK" and pay the 500 CR, he'll give you the
'Trust' nanomachine, from now on I recommend keeping it equipped for pretty
much the rest of the game as whenever you gain trust now the trust gained will
    be increased by 5%.
To gain a little trust for each team member speak to them and give the
    appropriate reply:
    Charlie: "I got it"
    Faye: "No"
    Rachael: "Yeah"
Big Bo: First choose "Yeah", then talk to the smoking prostitute and say
"Sure", go back to Bo and lie to him by saying "Yeah"
If you accidentally screwed up some answers you can press start and choose 'load
checkpiont' to do it all again. When you're ready to go head towards Yuki, but
don't forget to check the SHOP to her left first. After the cutscene head back
to Yuki and choose "Sorry" to gain trust from all of the squad.
    2-4 Mifune's Room (2 SECUR-COM, 3 SHOPS, 1 NANOS) [CHP24]
After meeting Mifune follow Yuki and where she first stops use the SHOP next to
her. After taking care of the enemies you can get a SECUR-COM by climbing to
inside the bar in the center of the room downstairs, it's on the floor, if you
run around the inner circle you can't miss it.
Follow Yuki and clear her a path, eventually she gets to a door that takes her
a few minutes to open so you'll have to protect her from enemies, at this point
the enemies will keep spawning until you eventually leave, so stay as long as
you want killing them racking up some trust and CR, though you'll have to make
use of your shock shots and enemy weapons which you'll have to keep collecting
from defeated enemies. It's always good to gain some extra trust but there's a
far better point at the end of this chapter to farm CR and trust for the two
team members who accompany you there.
If you do stay here and farm kills you can stay on the stairs and pop up to
headshot enemies then going down a little so that you're out of their line of
fire, but I suggest you hang around the corner at the back of the room (above
and behind where the door you should go through is), a single enemy will keep
coming out of the elevator, enemies rarely come from behind around here and
they're easy to deal with. Wait by the elevator, headshot the enemy when it
comes, smash it (occasionally shoot/smash off its right arm to make it drop
its gun for you), repeat for as long as you can be bothered. On No Mercy I
recommend headshotting the elevator enemy but not killing it, that way it'll
walk out and occupy the enemies behind you and they won't get chance to sneak
When you're done head through the door and there's a SHOP on the right of the
room and directly ahead from where you came in there's some supplies and a NANO
case. Get on the jet ski and keep heading forwards, basically you want to avoid
hitting anything except the red robots in the water, so watch out for any
obstacles, pillars, mines etc and don't slow down when you're in the line of
fire of any enemies. Once that section is over you'll get the *Aquatic Chase*
        BOSS: Iron Raptor [BOS04]
Once down the ladder take a left and go through the doors your squad will use,
downstairs is a SHOP and a stinger missile launcher, the stinger will not
replace your second weapon, when you put it down you have to go back and pick
it up as there's only one. There's ammo for this around the area and it's
simple enough to navigate, ammo can also be acquired by shooting down
transporter pods that are carrying it, so it's best to wait until they're
close before you take them down.
There's a SECUR-COM collectible in this area in the opposite corner from where
you started, to get there face away from the shop and leave the building
through the door ahead in the next room, then head over the bridge right to the
end, then take a left and head up into the corner, go up the yellow ladder,
then up another yellow ladder and it's in the corner behind some grey tubs.
This boss has four engines to destroy, the stinger takes a few seconds to lock
on and the fight is really just a matter of finding the ammo and avoiding its
missiles and the enemies your teammates should be dealing with. Flying enemies
will try to block your shot when you're locking onto the Raptor, keep strafing
and fire when you think you have a chance or your team manages to take them
It's simple enough to stay at the building where you got the stinger and to pop
out to get shots off and run to other areas with stinger ammo, but there's also
a mounted machine gun in the corner you passed on the way to the SECUR-COM, you
have to go up two ladders to get to it. It's quite effective against the
engines and it's quicker than the stinger, I find the mounted gun far more
effective than the stinger strategy and one of the benefits is the boss never
gets chance to fire off any missiles once you start firing at it, not to
mention it also one shots the smaller flying enemies that get in the way.
    2-5 West 1 Treatment Tank (2 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 10 NANOS) [CHP25]
Who you choose to take with you here will determine who you take with you later
in the stage, as you have to be with the other two squadmembers after. There's
a great way to max out these two squadmembers' trust later, so I suggest taking
the two with the most trust now so you can work on the other two later.
You can only go forwards and then left, after that there's a SHOP directly to
your left. Hang back when the little red suicide bomber robo-crabs appear and
kill them at a distance, they turn into balls and explode up close. Keep to the
right side path and there'll be a big pipe with '05' written on it, on the
other side of it is a SECUR-COM.
Around the corner and near the ladder you'll encounter your first monkey
robots, aka Simians, melee attacks work great on these (so long as no arse-hat
teammates get in the way, if they're also hit you'll lose trust).
Through the large room with the sewage water the team happily wades through
when you get past the next door there's another SHOP on your left. Head the
only way you can and after the scene you're alone, head back but this time
instead of the doors you came through to the room with the SHOP use the ladder
    now on your left.
Head through the corridor and when you get to an office between the two sets of
terminals on your right there's a SECUR-COM on the floor. Kill your way
forwards and go up the ladder, then use your shock shot on the barrier of
barrels then head on up to the control room. Operate the lever, then when you
leave this small room back into the bigger one on your left in the corner is a
NANO case. Head down to the bottom where your squad is and go the same way you
went earlier before leaving the other two.
Push the button to call for the elevator, around the back of this area is a pad
to charge Dan's shock shot. After the scene immediately shock shot the group of
monkey bots, here is the best spot in the game to do a lot of things like farm
CR (which helps with the nanomachine and weapon upgrade trophies), get smash
(melee) kills and multi-kills (both go towards combat trophies) and get lots of
double, triple, multi and smash kills to impress the squad and increase their
trust to the point of maxing them very quickly (which goes towards their trust
trophies). The monkey bots will spawn until you get close to the elevator, so
don't go back past the top of the ramp you start in front of, stay here and
keep melee attacking them as they come and when they drop down (up to five can
drop, depending on how many are already out) you can take out a group of 4 or 5
for a multi-kill with one shock shot, they also drop charge which rolls down
the bottom of the ramp, you can run down while smashing them to pick it all up
and shock shot groups some more, or you can just go to the pad to recharge.
When you're done here head for the elevator.
This next bit is straight forward, just keep shooting the monkeys off your
teammate, don't stop firing at any point and try to avoid friendly fire.
                                 CHAPTER 3: BAD GROUND
    3-1 Patio Cafe, Upper City (1 SECUR-COM, 1 SHOP, 4 NANOS) [CHP31]
Another safe area where you can talk to the team and gain some trust, here's
how to answer each of the squad:
    Charlie: "Sure"
    Faye: "Nope"
    Rachael: "Yeah" and then "Sure"
    Big Bo: "Stop!"
To Bo's right (your left if you're facing him) there's a SHOP, to Bo's left
there's an orange, green and white robot, to this robot's left there's a
SECUR-COM on the floor behind the counter. When you're finished here speak to
Charlie again and choose to move.
During the first part of the car chase focus on the enemies in front, always go
for the transporter pods, don't worry about the police cars. You can press
cross to duck to reload a little more safely and/or regenerate health, other
than that there are robot cars that are pretty simple to deal with. During one
of the following scenes the *Fugitive* trophy will unlock.
    3-2 Highway, Upper City (2 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 2 NANOS) [CHP32]
I recommend taking Cain with you now, as he comes in handy at the beginning of
3-4, though it's not necessary to bring him if you'd prefer to bring others.
Take out as many of the robots you start near as you can as quickly as possible
with shock shot, grenades or whatever, the safest option though is to retreat
from your car cover to the back of the van and strafe right and left using it
as cover. Depending on where the huge missile launching Howitzer is you can
shock shot it then get on the nearby vehicle to use the mounted machine gun
against it and the enemies that appear at 10 o'clock to the front of the
vehicle, doing so quickly will impress some squad members. There's also a
SECUR-COM on the ground next to the big vehicle with the mounted gun farthest
    from where you started.
The enemies at the other end spawn infinitely, so you can hang around and kill
as many as you like with the mounted gun and push the button near your
teammates to reveal the exit and leave when you're ready, though first you
should visit the SHOP near your teammates.
In the following corridors there is only one path as the shutters come down on
other directions as you get near them, stick to the left walls when moving
through this area and you'll come across another SHOP, when you get there turn
around and head back to the stairs you came up but instead of going down them
go past them, behind a pillar next to the top of the stairs is a SECUR-COM.
Soon you'll come across a new type of enemy, grenades are ineffective as they
change form to protect themselves, so take cover and aim for their faces.
    3-3 Agro-Center, NAASO (2 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 4 NANOS) [CHP33]
After you defeat the security bots (aka Jarheads) you can pick up their
full-auto pistol, this replaces your regular pistol and not your secondary
weapon. Feel free to kill the harmless workers in the next room, in here (Bo
calls it the shipping area) after you go up and down the first set of stairs
with the working robot walk past the second set of stairs ahead and around the
corner there's a SECUR-COM to collect. After you head onwards and take the
elevator there's a SHOP directly ahead where you get off.
In the next room above and to the right will be some security robots shooting
down, take these out then focus on the little robo-spiders, if any get on you
you can roll to nudge them off. From the door you entered stick to the wall on
your left and follow it all the way round, from there the path around to the
exit is easy to navigate, but make sure you take the left path first and
follow it around to grab the SECUR-COM on the floor.
The next section has you in moving carts, to continue at some points you'll
need to shoot the red lights, you can do it before your teammates point them
out while you're still moving, doing so more than once will gain you some
trust. After that's done and you go up the elevator there'll be a SHOP as you
    get off on the left.
    3-4 Agro-Center Lab, NAASO (2 SECUR-COM, 0 SHOPS, 0 NANOS) [CHP34]
For the next section it's convenient to have Cain with you, but it's not a big
deal if you didn't bring him. Cain isn't affected by the gas so he won't choke
on it and need to get in the ventilation chambers with you, human teammates
will need to go in these rooms with you though and if you get in one and seal
it without them some trust will be lost, so when you get in make sure to issue
the "Regroup" command if they aren't near you.
In this gassed area you need to destroy the ozone gas units (light blue panels)
with your shock shot, one is on the side of the vent-things above the door you
came in through, one is on the right when you turn the first corner (where the
security bots are initially), one is right next to the pad that recharges your
shock shots near the first ventilation chamber and the last is above the exit
on the opposite side of the room to the entrance and placed in the same way as
the first, to get there you'll have to use your shock shot on the barrels that
block the way next to the second ventilation chamber. If you stand so you can
see the last gas unit above the exit and walk backwards into the corner of this
section there's a SECUR-COM between the last two pods.
On the roof jump over the cover and head straight forwards, at the end around
the corner there's a SECUR-COM on the floor, if you've collected them all so
far you'll unlock the *Data Collector* trophy (no problem if you've missed any,
you can go back and find any missed through chapter select). Head back to where
you started and hold there, try to take out the transporter pod with the heavy
gunner before it gets to the roof. Go up the ladder when you're told to and
after the cutscenes the *BAD GROUND* trophy will unlock.
                              CHAPTER 4: REFUSE AND RESIST
    4-1 Monorail, Upper City (2 SECUR-COM, 0 SHOPS, 0 NANOS) [CHP41]
Follow the set path through the train and as you pass through one of the doors
into another train carriage look to the ground on your right, in the corner
next to the door will be a SECUR-COM.
The train section is straight-forward, anything outside the train you should
aim for the transporter pods, kill anything else however you like, though going
for headshots on the heavy gunners makes things easier (they're pretty easy to
    decapitate with the sniper rifle).
After the section on the roof of the train when you're back inside deal with
the enemies inside and outside the first two carriages, then just before going
into the third there'll be a SECUR-COM to the left of the door.
    4-2 Station Platform (3 SECUR-COM, 3 SHOPS, 4 NANOS) [CHP42]
A shock shot or the EMP grenades to the left of where you start will work great
on the first set of enemies, then you can rush straight into the cover on the
left or right side and hold the cross button and forwards to climb over to the
inside of it for cover from all sides, these are useful at a few of points in
    this level.
After you go down the first escalator take care of the regular robots and
shotgunners and head all the way to the end of the corridor, on the left
there's a SECUR-COM. Head back and follow your teammates down to the train
station, there's a SHOP around the corner on your left as you enter, as well as
a sniper rifle nearby to take out the sniper up high at 1 o'clock. After
taking care of the enemies here at 11 o'clock some transporter pods will come
in with more enemies, quickly snipe the pods to avoid dealing with them on the
When the trains come go through them to get to the other platforms, hang at the
back and use the cover until the next train comes until you get to the last
platform. On the last platform before you head to the escalator, at the bottom
right side of this platform inside one of the bits of cover you can climb
inside of there's a SECUR-COM. Fight your way up to the escalator, enemies will
be waiting at the top, if you're been hit from the bottom and top of the
escalator chuck a grenade at the top and once it goes off rush up and around
into cover, then head to the ticket barrier to start the next boss battle.
        BOSS: Gorilla [BOS05]
From where you come in on the left past the barriers is a SHOP, on one side of
the first Nap Space pod on the left side of the room is ammo and on the other
is a medkit, behind the escalator are two sofas with a shotgun and ammo, on
the sofa on the right side of the escalator there's some decoys (that are
useless for this battle) and between the Nap Space pods on the right side of
the room there's some more ammo.
This boss has only melee attacks, many of these can be avoided by rolling
backwards, though when it goes crazy and comes for you you're best off running
around the escalator, fighting around this area gives you a little breathing
room whenever you go round a corner. The weakspot is on its forehead once you
strip the armour off its face.
You can fight this boss by running around and getting some shots off before he
gets pissed or whenever he's distracted by your squad but a lot of the time
when it's near you it'll guard its face with its giant forearms. The best way
to do it though is to hit it with a shock shot then use your assault rifle or
the shotgun to hammer its face at close range. It gets more aggressive as the
fight goes on so if you don't have many charges save them for later.
You're joined by a new squad member, although he is the last teammate you need
to add to your squad in order to get the *All Members* trophy it doesn't unlock
until you manually add him to the squad when given the choice yourself (which
    happens in the next stage).
Follow the team and once you go down the big escalator before leaving the
building there's a SHOP on your left, once you leave the building don't head
left to where the team is, instead head all the way to the right to find a
SECUR-COM. You can hang out in the building and fight the various enemies and
heavy gunners if you like. When you're done leave with the rest of the team
    4-3 Underground Parking Lot (2 SECUR-COM, 4 SHOPS, 9 NANOS) [CHP43]
Once you fight your way to the end of the first room there's a small area to
the right of the door with a SECUR-COM in the corner. Continue on through to
the huge room, once you've fought your way to the end and you've passed the
black cars there's a SHOP to the right of the huge red doors you need to go
When you get near the door a scene will play and you get to choose your squad,
you can add Shindo now, if you added all the others earlier in the game then
the *All Members* trophy will unlock. You'll be in the same area in case you
got to the doors before you got to access the shop. Kill everything in the
room, blow up the cars if enemies get near them.
        BOSS: Gorilla [BOS06]
It's much more aggressive and difficult to kill this time. There's no reason to
bother attacking him much during the corridor sections and don't waste your
shock shots on it, just follow the set path and eventually you'll come to the
room where you'll fight it properly.
When you and Shindo drop down through where the red doors were there's a SHOP
straight away on the left. Follow Shindo around and up the ladder, drop down
and as instructed wait for the Gorilla then shoot the yellow fuel tanks when
it gets close, it'll be stunned and give you time to hammer the weakspot on
its forehead with your assault rifle. Once it's back up keep out of its way.
After following it for a minute you'll hear a resistance member saying he
thought you guys were the best of the best, while the Gorilla is busy smashing
some obstacles in its path go ahead and to the right, behind a green forklift
is a SECUR-COM, now head to the next ladder but before you go up it there's a
    SHOP on the left.
Go up and run ahead and off the end of the platform, as instructed pick up the
remote and help whoever's there to push the explosives forward, when the
Gorilla is several steps away from it stop pushing, hold the cross button and
down on the left analog stick (this will make Dan quick turn and run) then
detonate when you're at a safe distance, run back up to fire at its weakspot.
Go up the final ladder now and the path leads to where you'll fight the boss
When you get here there's a SHOP on the ground which will be behind you when
you drop down. There's regular ammo, ammo for the mounted weapon and medkits
all around the outside of the room at various points. The mounted weapon here
is very powerful, to load it you'll have to carry the grey ammo boxes to just
behind it where the green bit is on the floor, a prompt to press circle to
load will appear, you can also just tell your teammate to reload it by saying
their name if you're using a mic or by holding L2 and pressing square if you
aren't. Try and move as much ammo for it as close as you can to it before the
    boss gets there.
Bait the Gorilla to come to you while you're standing somewhere far but still
in view of the mounted gun, when it comes run to the mounted gun, along the way
when the Gorilla turns and is making its way to you stun it with your shock
shot or the fuel canisters, then get straight on the canon and aim for its
head. Remember to check if the mounted gun is loaded before you use a shock
shot. When enemies come through the doors near the mounted gun throwing
grenades in that area is effective, run and gun to finish them off when you're
on your way to bait the Gorilla elsewhere.
After this boss if you've had a positive enough experience with Faye and you
have enough trust with her you should get the scene between her and Dan that
unlocks the *A Private Moment* trophy, if you don't then the scene plays out
the same except Cain interrupts it.
    4-4 Secret Resistance Base (1 SECUR-COM, 3 SHOPS, 9 NANOS) [CHP44]
Another safe spot, here are the dialog options to gain some trust:
Faye: "No Problem" or "Love you" or "Hang in there"
Cain: "Yeah", then "Yeah" or "I like you", then "Hang in there"
Take a right when you leave the medical room Faye's in and at the end are two
resistance members by a desk, on the desk there's a SECUR-COM to pick up,
around that corner there's also a door on the right that leads to a room with a
SHOP. If you haven't by now you can probably afford to max out some of Dan's
assault rifle upgrades, getting one to its highest level will unlock the
    *Craftsman* trophy.
Head to the guy by the door at the end of the part of the corridor Cain's in
and tell him you're ready when you're done, after the cutscene you'll be in a
    boss fight.
        BOSS: Crab [BOS07]
Each corner of the room has various supplies. The smaller enemies are easy to
take down, they aren't designed for battle, so take them out whenever they're
The big boss has a few melee attacks with its arms and can pick up and throw
the explosive canisters and large crates around the room, keep your distance
from it and run and roll when it picks something up to throw. The four arms at
the top need to be destroyed, shoot the armour off and aim at the lit up bits
when they're exposed. Destroyed arms can drop a full charge for your shock
shot, so you may as well use the shock shot to stun it and give yourself some
time to destroy as much of it as you can.
As soon as the boss is down follow the team, although the enemies in the boss
room do keep respawning you repeatedly lose trust very quickly with all present
teammates if you don't stay with them during this section. When you get to the
big blue van in the far corner of the room there's a SHOP.
Another vehicle section, I recommend equipping Dan with the Assault: Quick
Prompt nanomachine (1 slot, increases reload speed by 1.5 times), also the
default assault rifle will be the best weapon to use throughout this section
due to the upgraded fire power and quick reload speed.
Same as the last vehicle section, focus on the transport pods instead of the
enemies and then the robot cars. After the first wave of enemies and the
cutscene you'll be in the back, head towards the front of the van to access the
shop, there's a boss coming up so if you have any spare CR it's a good idea to
upgrade Dan's rifle. Don't worry about ammo here, it's easy to make it through
this section with just the pistol even on No Mercy and you'll be constantly
resupplied with ammo in the next section.
After the cutscene a few QTEs appear, hold the left analog stick in the
direction the arrows point in and as before time pressing circle to get the
slide to land on the blue bit of the bar.
        BOSS: Tsar Runner [BOS08]
As mentioned earlier, equipping the Assault: Quick Prompt nanomachine is useful
for this section as you'll be doing a lot of reloading. No need to worry about
ammo, Shindo will drop some for you whenever you get to below 250 rounds for
    your default weapon.
There are going to be numerous robots hanging from transporter pods, it's not
worth bothering with them at all, they'll only come back and they just distract
you from the boss. The Tsar Runner itself has four attacks:
    1. Melee attack, when the boss is behind the van it'll telegraph this attack by
doing a big wheelie, hit an exposed weakspot to cancel the attack
    2. Melee attack, it'll stand up and telegraph a strike, hit an exposed weakspot
    to cancel the attack
    3. One or two missiles, shoot them out before they hit the van
    4. Around eight missiles, shoot out the missiles as quickly as you can,
shooting a group of missiles next to each other will set them all off
There are also regular bots hanging from transport pods for all but the last
phase of the fight, don't waste any time or ammo on them, they aren't at all a
    threat and only distract you.
The van you're in doesn't regenerate health, so it's best to focus on defence
rather than offence and make sure none of its attacks hit the van. If it's
behind the cab and more to the left you can shimmy Dan along the wall a little
to the left to fire from around that opening. I recommend reloading every time
you take out some missiles or cancel a melee attack in order to make sure
you're not caught short when you need to shoot more missiles or cancel its
    melee strike.
There are four weakspots, one under each forearm's armour, one under the head's
armour and one that's visible when the boss is standing up, it's in the spot
between its legs, this one is also visible when it's in bike form and it does a
wheelie while getting ready to strike.
Focus on taking off the forearm armour first, then the head, the forearms
provide the biggest and easiest target to hit when you need to cancel its melee
strikes. Destroy just one of its forearms first, then focus on destroying the
head, as you should go for the weakspot underneath it whenever it's visible
before it goes to strike I suggest leaving a forearm till last as leaving the
head last may make it more difficult to cancel the melee strikes as it's a
    smaller target.
Towards the end a scene will occur with some 'pull the left analog stick in
this direction' QTEs, after you should only have to focus on the weakspot
underneath it when it telegraphs a strike.
Destroy all the weakspots and the boss is defeated, the *Runaway Truck* trophy
    will unlock.
    4-5 Outside Amada Corp. (1 SECUR-COM, 1 SHOP, 0 NANOS) [CHP45]
Ahead there are two missile launching Howitzers and a bunch of regular robots.
Run straight forward and take a left, there's a SHOP, and if you keep heading
in that direction right into the corner you'll find a SECUR-COM. Take care of
the regular green bots then line up your shock shot to hit both Howitzer, run
right up to one and unload a couple of mags in its face. You can also get chaff
grenades and a rocket launcher from the shop. Fight the remaining Howitzer up
close, simply walk backwards and forwards while firing at it to avoid its melee
Once they're done follow the team and you get to control a Howitzer. Head into
the dead end near the door you went through (if you load checkpoint you'll be
here anyway) so you only have to worry about what's in front of you. The
Howitzer has a terrible melee attack and it fires both missiles quite wide of
where you aim unless you're holding L1, for groups of enemies don't bother
holding L1 and tightening the aim.
When the dropship comes on the right you can take the whole thing down by
putting a load of missiles into it, if you destroy its four engines the
*Transport Takedown* trophy will unlock. From here strafe around (or sit still,
doesn't matter too much) and take out the bigger enemies first, another
dropship will come to the left side shortly after the last one, take it out and
time your shots a little ahead of the heavy gunner's carried by transport pods
to take them out before they hit the ground.
A Grand Lancer will come towards the end, focus all your fire on it and take
its arms off, keep firing as if it gets up close its melee attack is quite
powerful. Beat this section and the *Hacker* trophy unlocks. Watch the
following scene and the *REFUSE AND RESIST* trophy unlocks.
                            CHAPTER 5: INTELLIGENT ARTIFICE
    5-1 Amada Corp. Entrance (3 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 5 NANOS) [CHP51]
Looking away from the entrance to this building on the right side of the room
there's a SECUR-COM on the farthest away table.
Agree with Shindo's plan to gain some of his trust (that you disagreed with
Faye's plan doesn't lose any of her trust), if you can defeat all the robots
before you get to answer Shindo will result in trust gained from all of the
present squad, though that's going to be a tall order on harder difficulties.
These new enemies, the Shinobi, are quick and a threat at close range, spraying
at their legs is the quickest way to deal with them, if they lose a leg they'll
be significantly less agile, keep rolling away to avoid their attacks.
        BOSS: Medusa [BOS09]
There are three floors in the first part of this fight, up the first stairs you
can get directly underneath the boss where there are a pair of medkits, if you
go up another set of stairs and head to the left side of the room there's a
SHOP (you can access this one during the first phase or after the boss fight),
it's at about 10 o'clock if you just entered the room. There's also ammo on the
same floor as the shop at both of the dead ends.
Start by hitting the obvious big blue weakspot at the bottom of it, when it
moves your next targets will be the top of each tentacle, where it has some
blue lines on one side. After the third tentacle goes down you have to climb
the limp one, when each section starts to light up go left or right until you
get to a part of it that isn't lit so you can climb up without being
electrocuted, pause before you climb up in case the one above is about to light
up. When you get to the bits that light up at certain parts go around until you
see an opening to climb where the section above is unlit too. Move left, right,
up and down to avoid the lasers that target you. When you get to the point
after the second obstacle a teammate destroys there'll be a section where the
lit up bit goes around to the right, follow it until a bit of the section above
becomes unlit long enough for you to climb up it without being electrocuted.
On the next floor if you go around the big circle you'll pass some medkits and
ammo but also two trees surrounded by a short hedge, on the floor next to it
there's a SECUR-COM. There's an elevator you can send down to pick up your
teammates (you don't have to, but they take care of the security bots for you),
it's on the inside of the floor, it's not a door on the outside, press the
button to send it down. At Dan's eye level are the parts of the boss you need
to hit, the silver panels all around it come off easily and the boss' weakspot
revolves around behind them, hit it as much as you can and follow it when it
moves, it lights up the area it's facing. Don't hang around in the open in one
spot long enough for the laser from its tentacle to target you.
If you shoot the area behind the panels you can actually make the boss spin
around, to the left if you keep shooting the left side and right if you keep
shooting the right side, if you're having a hard time following the weakspot
this is a quicker way to make it come to you, just watch out for the tentacles.
Follow the set path and soon you'll be protecting Shindo while he uses the
toilet. After the fight in the next room answer Shindo with "No problem" then
    "Yeah" and finally "Yeah" again.
Head up the stairs Cain points out and when you're in another corridor once the
robots are taken care of go behind the desk to get a SECUR-COM, a little
farther up the corridor there's also a SHOP.
    5-2 Surveillance Room, Amada (2 SECUR-COM, 2 SHOPS, 4 NANOS) [CHP52]
If you're aiming to get all of the squad to VERY HIGH trust or you're going
for the max trust trophies I suggest taking Faye and Cain now as this is your
last opportunity to earn some trust with them. Don't worry about Shindo, you
can easily max his trust in the next stage.
There's only one path through these corridors, so explore the few short detours
to dead ends for supplies if you need them. Whoever you didn't take will warn
you about the little blue robots, you can try to avoid them as is suggested but
you can also impress the team by taking them out, send them flying with a shock
shot and they're pretty easy to deal with.
After the corridor section you'll get to a point where the character you left
behind opens a door for you, in the room through that door there's a SHOP on
    the right.
Once you reach the lab when you get into the third room (the one with eight
tables in it) there's a SECUR-COM in the far left corner. Later, after you've
passed through the lab and taken the elevator, as you get off there'll be a
SHOP right in front of you. The team will regroup in the next room and you'll
be told to use the terminal, to the right of it there's an octagonal table,
behind that there's a SECUR-COM on the floor. Use the terminal and the one in
the next room to initiate a boss fight.
        BOSS: Gaussius [BOS10]
Walk backwards off the platform and walk back and forwards while you're on
separate floors using the large step as cover and focus your fire on its
forehead while avoiding its beam attack, when it gets to the floor you're on
strafing and rolling will avoid this attack pretty easily.
Once the forehead weakspot is down focus on the other three, one on its back,
one inside its ribcage and one on its tail, you can dodge and attack when it's
distracted or you can stun it with your shock shot to easily take down some
weakspots. As suggested by Faye later in the fight you can also distract it by
shooting one of the alarms up high on each side of the room except the one with
    the computer.
    5-3 Scrap Area, Amada (2 SECUR-COM, 0 SHOPS, 0 NANOS) [CHP53]
Kurosawa now joins the party, you can't equip nanomachines to him, upgrade his
weapon or get a trophy for maxing his trust but it is possible to max it if you
hang back at a few points in this stage and keep killing the infinitely
    spawning Hollow Children prototypes.
After the first set of prototypes are beaten answer Shindo with "Sure" or
"Stop!" or "You idiot!" then "Hang in there" or "Roger" to gain trust. When the
path branches left and right just after Kurosawa talks about the Hollow
Children prototypes go right first to get a SECUR-COM. Use your shock shot on
groups here, these enemies tend to drop a lot of charge.
When you get to the room where Shindo and Kurosawa both have to work on opening
the door and you have to protect them from more prototypes you can stay here
for a while farming them for CR and gaining trust by impressing Shindo and
Kurosawa, stay at the bottom of the ramp and use your shock shot on the
groups. Don't let any get to the top of the ramp, even if it's because one of
the gas canisters explodes and the remains of the prototype flies up the ramp,
it'll lose you some trust. This area is great to rack up multi-kills with shock
    shots too.
You'll soon get to another door where the exact same thing happens again, stay
here for as long as you want killing more prototypes, you may have maxed
Shindo's trust before now but if you haven't you should do it here and earn the
trophy for it, you can max Kurosawa's trust at this point too. When you're done
leave and climb up the crates.
Follow the path and you'll be in a straight corridor full of garbage, about
halfway through it on the right hand side behind a big pile of rubbish is a
SECUR-COM. The next room is your last chance to max trust for these guys, the
enemies do infinitely respawn here but your partners will go down eventually
    and run out of medkits.
    5-4 R&D Floor, Amada (2 SECUR-COM, 1 SHOP, 4 NANOS) [CHP54]
Don't be intimidated by the 15 minute timer, you'll have plenty of time to
spare. Ahead on your right between your squad and the first set of enemies
there's a SHOP on the right, if you've been collecting and purchasing all the
nanomachines throughout the game then you'll get the *Skill Master* trophy
here. Through the shutters you'll be fighting multiple security bots, a couple
of which have shields, once you clear out this corridor head through the door
at the end and detour to the left, sneakily hidden behind the last bit of the
wall that sticks out on the left there's a SECUR-COM.
Go up the elevator and kick the door in, when you go up the next ladder and
drop down there's another boss fight.
        BOSS: Cerberus [BOS11]
This boss is quick, so unless you have some shock shots to stun it you'll need
to keep your distance, though the shock shot is very effective in this fight.
There's ammo along the left wall in both areas, a medkit on the right side and
you can get to the second area by going up and down the short stairs over the
pipes (the only way out), past these stairs on the right there are two medkits.
There are two weakspots, the first is on its forehead once you remove its face
armour, the second is its crotch area. I recommend going for the crotch
weakspot first if you have the shock shots to stun it, going up close and
taking this one out will remove its tail and back legs making it unable to leap
At some point it will call for reinforcements, there'll be two security bots
and a sniper on top of a nearby building, lookout for incoming fire or the
laser sight from the sniper to find them, they keep coming once they're called
so put some cover between you and them and focus on the boss.
After the cutscene you can either head back and save Bo by shooting the
weakspot on the boss's forehead or press on, climb up the ladder and shoot your
rocket launcher at the satellite dish, either way Bo will survive but I
recommend going back to save Bo yourself as it will unlock the *Big Bo Rescue*
trophy. If you try to save Bo but fail to do enough damage in the minute the
game allows a scene will play where he's dragged over the edge, pause this
cutscene, hold the PS button and quit to the XMB, then load again and retry (or
just do it through chapter select later).
Once the dish is down follow the only path, make sure you get some charge from
the pad and when you move forward you need to use the shock shot on the pipes
that fall and block your path. Go up the ladder and Charlie will say you better
hurry, drop off the platform but first go around the right of it to find a
SECUR-COM on the floor before you follow the team.
In the bridge section you'll need to sprint across anticipating where the
bridge will fall through, at the end there's a QTE, land the slider on the blue
bit of the bar. After the cutscene the *INTELLIGENT ARTIFICE* trophy will
                               CHAPTER 6: DENYING DESTINY
    6-1 Amada Admin. Building (1 SECUR-COM, 1 SHOP, 0 NANOS) [CHP61]
After the opening fight answer Rachael with "No problem" or "Yeah" then "God
Damn" or "No problem" or "Yeah" before moving ahead. Keep fighting through
rooms of enemies until you've gone up two sets of stairs, in this room there's
a SHOP against the right wall. Instead of following the team once this room is
cleared there's a set of stairs going down opposite the ones you came up, go
down these and take a left around the bottom to get a SECUR-COM off the ground.
Follow the team and you'll get a cutscene, after make your way around the
outside of the room killing robots until you get another cutscene which leads
    to a boss battle.
BOSS: Special Ops Unit "Shinobi" [BOS12]
There are supplies at the top of the stairs on both sides, two sets of ammo and
two medkits, there's also a shotgun and shield around the outside of the room
at about 11 o'clock from the stairs.
The human enemy and security bots will attack from the floor above (the bots
will drop down sometimes though) while Shinobi (the fast, black armoured robots
that melee attack) attack on your floor. You don't have to attack the human
enemy so don't bother wasting the ammo, it has no effect on the fight or story
anyway. Head to the bottom of the stairs where it's safest and tell the squad
to regroup, the enemies will come to you and your squad will mostly keep them
distracted for you. Aim for the Shinobi's legs with your assault rifle or the
shotgun, you can quickly try and get shots of at close range with the sniper
rifle if you still have that too.
A scene will occur mid-fight, shoot the enemy anywhere (it doesn't matter
where, it always gets the same result), if you miss then hostage will die and
you'll have to do the scene again.
After the scene go back to beating Shinobi and watch out for the laser sight of
the human sniper from the second floor. Once the Shinobi are dealt with now no
more will come, deal with the remaining robots and the fight ends.
    6-2 Chapel, Amada (1 SECUR-COM, 1 SHOP, 0 NANOS) [CHP62]
Head towards the team and the game's final shop will be on the right next to
Bo, if you accessed all the other shops in the game then accessing this one
will unlock the *Shop Master* trophy, just past this shop on the floor next to
it is the final SECUR-COM, if you collected all the others you'll unlock the
*Data Retrieval Complete* trophy. Spend any CR you have now on upgrades, talk
to Charlie when you're finished here and tell him you're ready. After the
cutscene if you had VERY HIGH trust level with Bo the *Comrades in Arms* trophy
    will unlock.
If you had VERY HIGH trust level with the whole squad prior to the scene then
Cain will be present for this section of the game. Who survives this cutscene
and is present from now on is dependant on your trust levels with the squad,
once you've beaten the game you can check the spoiler-filled Endings section to
    learn more about it.
        BOSS: 4x Cuirass-1 [BOS13]
These are just a warm up for the next fight. Around the outside of the map
there are plenty of supplies and different weapons on crates, the ammo and
medkits will reappear on the crates if you end up running low.
You can hit multiple of them with a single shock shot, while stunned aim just
for the head. Use the pillars for cover and move around the outside of the map
to take cover where you can see when they pop smoke.
Don't spam the shock shot though, save most of the charges for the next fight.
If Cain isn't present due to your choices and actions earlier in the game then
you'll be down a specific squad member for the next fight and it has an effect
    on the cutscene afterwards.
        BOSS: Cuirass-Assault [BOS14]
Like the last battle, around the outside of the map there are plenty of
supplies and different weapons on crates, the ammo and medkits will reappear on
the crates if you end up running low. You have no way to recharge your shock
shot here, so they're best saved for the later phases of the fight. Around the
edge of the map you'll also come across a huge Ikazuchi M6 Rocket Launcher,
it's very powerful but also quite slow, so try not to waste any shots.
Don't bother using the cover mechanic around the pillars, just putting them
between you and the enemy is enough, that way you can strafe in and out of
relative safety. Keep your distance, stay on the edge of the map behind the
pillars when he's not near you and sprint/roll away as fast as you can when you
    see him throw bombs.
There are four phases to this fight, each one represented by how many of the
big red barrels the boss has on its back, as you do more damage it'll lose
    them one at a time.
     Phase 1 (3 barrels):
It has a minigun, keep on the outside of the map strafing around behind the
pillars, run when you see it throwing bombs. Stick to just the assault rifle
for this phase as you'll need the other munitions later.
     Phase 2 (2 barrels):
It has a shotgun, whenever it rushes run around the map keeping pillars between
you and it for cover. It uses the smoke it throws out to close distance, so
when it pops smoke near you run to the other side of the room, try to save some
shock shots for phase 4 but if you have to then use some during this phase when
    it gets too close.
     Phase 3 (1 barrel):
It has an RPG launcher, keep moving but not too close to the walls, pillars or
crates because of the splash damage. This phase can be handled like phase 1,
    just using the assault rifle.
     Phase 4 (0 barrels):
It has a blender attachment for melee strikes. It starts rushing a lot here,
keep running behind the pillars putting them between you and it when it comes
to you or whenever you aren't firing. It'll also attack at range with an attack
that looks similar to Dan's shock shot, though this one is more easily avoided
if you're strafing around or by rolling to the side, it can also be cancelled
by damaging the boss. This is the time to use any remaining rockets and shock
shots, throw everything you have at it.
Don't forget that the medkits and ammo respawn on the crates around the room,
sprint around the outside until you come across them if you're running low.
After the next scene the *DENYING DESTINY* trophy will unlock, keep watching
after the credits for another scene, after that you'll also receive a
difficulty related trophy if you played on Survivor or No Mercy.
Completion of the game will unlock Chapter Select on the main menu.
Completion of the game on Survivor difficulty will unlock No Mercy difficulty.
    Congrats on beating the game!
The below is what I believe affects the outcome, this section is based on my
experience testing a lot with different trust levels, if you have a different
experience please contact me and note trust levels and if you did much to piss
your comrades off like shooting them and making negative dialog choices a lot.
Note that some players seem to have experienced Bo's loyalty/disloyalty with
varying trust levels, this is either glitched or there's a hidden value or
requirement that defines the outcome, in my experience always giving him the
positive answers and having his trust level at VERY HIGH has led to the loyal
outcome, having HIGH or lower trust has always led me to the disloyal outcome.
As stated earlier in the guide, VERY HIGH trust level is three bars or more on
the pause/status screen and HIGH is two bars or more.
If you have VERY HIGH trust with all characters Cain will return in 6-2, he'll
then take the blow to save Faye, unlike human characters though Cain can
survive it, this means he'll be present to fight alongside you in the last two
    battles of the game.
If your trust levels are not high enough he simply won't show up at the end,
the player is left to presume he didn't escape Amada.
    Big Bo
If you have VERY HIGH trust with Bo by 6-2 then in the cutscene before the
penultimate battle where he has a gun to Dan's head he'll lower it and the
*Comrades in Arms* trophy will unlock. What happens next is dependant on
whether you fulfilled the requirement for Cain to come back, see below
If you have a HIGH or lower trust level with Bo he won't lower his gun and he
and Dan will fight before Bo jumps in one of the Cuirass-1s, you then have to
fight him, after the final boss Bo makes up with Dan before he dies.
    Cain and Bo
These are the combinations of the above and how they affect each other:
You didn't fulfil the requirement for Cain to come back or Bo to be loyal:
Cain won't show up, you'll have to fight Bo, Rachael will die protecting Faye.
You fulfilled the requirement for Cain to come back but not for Bo to be loyal:
Cain will come back and save Faye, you'll have to fight Bo.
You didn't fulfil the requirement for Cain to come back but did for Bo to be
Cain won't show up, Bo will die protecting Faye.
You fulfilled the requirement for Cain to come back and Bo to be loyal:
Cain will come back and save Faye, the whole Rust Crew (Bo, Cain, Charlie,
Faye and Rachael) will fight alongside you in the final battles.
No matter how you treat Shindo and Kurosawa Shindo their outcomes will always
    be the same.
Easy Method to View All Endings Yourself
It's possible to view all the variations on the ending with just a single
playthrough, this requires getting VERY HIGH trust with the whole team. If
you're having trouble maxing trust throughout the game even with the farming
locations in the walkthrough here's an easy breakdown of who to take and when
(mix and match whoever you like, this is just a basic guideline to give an
      1-1 to 2-2
Take Charlie and Faye (don't take Bo and Faye together, what gains Bo's trust
    will sometimes lose Faye's).
Acquire the Trust nanomachine and keep it equipped for as long as you need to
throughout the game (see stage walkthrough for more info).
Take Charlie and Faye again. Farm at the elevator spot before the room with the
jet skis (see stage walkthrough for more info).
Take Charlie and Faye as later in the stage you'll be forced to switch to the
two you didn't take, Bo and Rachael. Farm at the ramp where the Simians keep
spawning when you're in the elevator room (see stage walkthrough for more
Take Cain and whoever you have the least trust with. Farm in the beginning room
of the stage using the mounted machine gun on top of the APC (see stage
    walkthrough for more info).
      3-3 to 5-2
Take whoever you have the least trust with, bear in mind Cain and Faye will
    leave at 5-2.
You'll easily get Shindo and Kurosawa's trust to VERY HIGH in 5-3, just hang
back before the doors they both open and in the last room to farm (see stage
    walkthrough for more info).
     5-4 to 6-1
You have no choice in your team in these stages, Bo, Charlie and Rachael will
be present in case you're still somehow below VERY HIGH with them.
See the walkthrough for dialog answers to all the non-missable dialog choices.
Depending on how much you farm it's very easy to max everyone's trust, let
alone get it to VERY HIGH, so don't worry about it too much.
Once at 6-2 with VERY HIGH trust for everyone you should get the most positive
ending, after you've beaten the game load up your 6-2 save, pause the game and
choose 'load chapter' to 6-2, save the game in a new slot as prompted, you'll
be doing this for each of the variations of the ending you want to view. From
here use friendly fire to take Charlie or Rachael down to HIGH or lower trust
if you want an ending without Cain and friendly fire Bo down a level of trust
to get an ending where he's disloyal, mix and match those variables to get the
desired endings (see above sub-sections for more info).

No changes have been made to the guide, it's just been re-uploaded to put

        via Steam today.
Anything else you'd like to know about the game will pretty much be covered in
the Data Files from the pause menu. If you like to collect PSN trophies there's
also a trophy guide courtesy of barticle here:
