Review by RiseOfAquarius
Skyrim is a great game, it has beautiful graphics, some beautiful story lines are associated with the quests, and lets not forget the strongest point in this game, the gameplay and the music. The game starts off with the main character starting off as a prisoner, then being saved from his/her execution by a dragon, which ends up being Alduin, a dragon that the main character was destined to kill.
Story: The storyline of the game is nice, but it could not keep my interest in it for too long, it eventually made me lose interest. But the stories for other quests are what made the the game's plots better, such as the Dark Brotherhood story, and basically all the stories, and folklore you can read about in books. I award story an 8.
Graphics: Without a doubt, this game has extraordinary graphics, even on an sd tv. They are absolutely beautiful. The only problem with them is that there can be texture issues and the characters faces need a little more work. I award the graphics a 9.
Music: The game has really nice music, my favorite being the theme that comes on when you fight the dragons. Some of the themes when you are out in the wilderness really fit in with the environment and it makes an even better effect. The inn also has some nice music playing sometimes.
Gameplay: The combat in this game is extremely simple but it's really fun and some fights can get really intense. The magic and the dragon shouts make the experience even better, along with the criminal activity one can commit by using thieving skills. Role playing has never been better. The games huge size can keep you entertained for hours, and keep you wanting more. It's very addicting. Exploring and being in combat in Skyrim is just awesome.
The game would be perfect if it had not had any problems. I find the worst being the framerate issue presented in the Playstation 3, which is the system I have the game for. It already corrupted my first character so I just started over. The glitches and bugs are also things that kill the experience. Hopefully Bethesda can patch this, to give this game the potential it truly has. Many say this game did not deserve the Game of the Year award, but I say otherwise. Why don't other companies make games with this immense size? Because it is difficult, but I am sure Bethesda will one day bypass that limit. =)
