What traits for ultimate damage dealing items?

Trying to figure out how to make the best damage dealing items. Also, is the peacemaker really the best choice? I manage to do around 700ish with normal use so far, using the most logical choices like
Rank Special, Very Painful, Loner Slayer L, Destroyer, Rank Fortify. What would be better traits? :)

The following is from a video featuring Meruru soloing a DLC boss. The item that was used most had these traits:

-Cost Bonus
-Rank Special
-Effect Boost 1
-Effect Boost 2
-Something that gave a 100% chance of critical

This was a special DLC item (Infinite Meteor). It's hard to say what the best damage dealing non-DLC item is without proper experimentation, so I can't really answer that.

It's also worth noting that you should debuff the enemy with Soul Steal (from Pendelook) and the like for the best effect.
