    1.Introduction
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, and welcome to my first guide.

I decided to create this FAQ after unlocking the easier to get illustrations
and finding an 18 images gap on the gallery. I tried to look for answers in the
Answers section of Gamefaqs, but I could only find the question without any
    answer.

Digging further via Google, I found a topic reply in the Gamefaqs forums by
user Dazmund where he details the sixteen hidden or special teams, plus the two
extra images, linked to the two unlockable characters: Billy Kane and Saiki.

I was amazed that this information is not in the Answers section (as there is
both a question about the hidden teams and another one about unlocking the
Gallery Illustrations), so I decided to take a little time to compile
everything here. I will also be dealing with the ending movies and the
Invitation image that you can find on the third page of the game's Gallery.

The music is already unlocked as far as I know, so I won't dwell on that. I
included the methods for unlocking the hidden characters and the final boss for
    the sake of completion.

I have the PlayStation 3 version of the game, but it should work for Xbox 360
    users as well.

    2.Version History
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Version 1.00, July 2012. All images given. Hopefully this will be the first and
only edition, but you never know.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    3.How to get each image
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first batch of images is pretty easy to get. You just need to play at
least one fight in Arcade or Versus with every character, including the hidden
ones. The images are as follows:

    Elisabeth, Duo Lon, Shen
    Kyo, Benimaru, Daimon
    Iori, Mature, Vice
    Terry, Andy, Joe
    Athena, Kensou, Chin
    Kim, Hwa Jai, Raiden
    Ryo, Robert, Takuma
    Ralf, Clark, Leona
    Ash Crimson
    Mai, King, Yuri
    K', Kula, Maxima
    Billy Kane
    Saiki
    True Saiki
    Dark Ash

For the second batch of images, you need to win at least one fight with the
character in question. The order of the images is the same as before.

In order to get the images for True Saiki and Dark Ash, just play Arcade Mode
and make sure you fight them and beat them.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    How to fight True Saiki
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To fight True Saiki, just earn at least 2,500,000 points total after beating
the sixth team. If you beat him, you will get to fight against Dark Ash.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to unlock Billy Kane and Saiki
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The hidden characters are unlocked by performing Target Actions. Those are
the special instructions that appear below the energy bar (i.e.: Perform Three
Jumps) during the fights. They will be then fought after the third team.

To unlock Billy Kane, you need to perform at least 2 target actions per fight.

And to unlock Saiki, you need to perform at least 5 of them in every fight.

Beating the characters will allow you to select them in any mode except Story.
Please note that you can unlock only one of them per playthrough.

I know there is a hidden character in this game that you have to buy as DLC,
Iori with the Power of the Flames. Since I haven't bought him, I do not know
much about him, but from what I have read, he also has images in the gallery,
that should be gotten using the same methods for other fighters. I ignore if
he has an ending or at least a special picture at the end. Any help on this
will be greatly appreciated and credited to the first person who submits it.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Getting the Hidden Images
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want the third batch of images, you need to beat the game with the
    Special or Hidden Teams.

There are sixteen of them, and you will see the image after beating Dark Ash
    and watching the credits.

There are also two more images, one for defeating Dark Ash with Saiki and one
for doing so with Billy Kane. Remember that it is not enough to have the
character in your team, he must actually beat the final boss for the image
to be granted. The hidden images are as follows:

    Ash, K', Kyo
    Athena, Yuri, Kula
    King, Chin, Hwa Jai
    Benimaru, Robert, Andy
    Mai, Elisabeth, King
    Daimon, Raiden, Maxima
    Ash, Duo Lon, Shen
    Raiden, Clark, Daimon
    Leona, Vice, Mature
    Kim, Kyo, Kensou
    Ryo, Kyo, Terry
    Benimaru, Leona, Iori
    Kula, Yuri, Ash
    Ash, Chin, K'
Billy, Raiden, Hwa Jai (here have either Raiden or Hwa Jai beat Dark Ash)
    Kyo, Iori, Takuma
Billy Kane (after beating Dark Ash)
    Saiki (after beating Dark Ash)

In order to unlock the fourth and final batch, you will have to beat the Story
Mode (not the Arcade Mode) with each of the normal or predetermined teams.
Again, make sure you fight against the final boss. So you would be getting
    these illustrations:

    Elisabeth Team
    Japan Team
    Yagami Team
    Fatal Fury Team
    Psycho Soldier Team
    Kim Team
    Art of Fighting Team
    Ikari Warriors Team
    Women Team
    K' Team

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The Invitation Image
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This image, located on the third page of the gallery, will be locked from the
start. To unlock it you need to earn Trophies (on PS3) or Achievements
(on XBOX360) to uncover the image little by little.

If you notice, there is a completion percentage at the bottom. For every 3
trophies you win, you will unlock a 10% of the image, so you get a 3% for the
first and second trophy, and a 4% for the third one, and so on. This means that
you need a total of 30 trophies to get the whole picture revealed. It seems
that any 30 trophies will do, so work on the ones easier for you.

When you achieve the 30th trophy and you get the 100% of the image, you will
be able to see it up close, as any other image. This one is a blast as it has
tons of new and old KOF combatants portrayed in Chibi (super deformed) style.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    4.Ending Movies
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here you only need to beat the game in Arcade Mode with each of the
predetermined Teams. Same deal here, you need to beat Dark Ash to receive the
"good ending" for each team. This will also unlock the rest of the movies, that
are used to tell the story throughout the Arcade Mode.

After that, just beat the game with any edited team to get the Edit Team ending
and once more with Ash to get his ending. Just get any edited team, select Ash
as one of its members, and make sure he is the one defeating Dark Ash.

You should receive the Bad Ending after beating the game once, or if you do not
do good enough to fight against True Saiki.

    5.Credits

SNK Playmore, for making this game and for coming back after SNK's demise. You
guys and gals deserve better than to disappear.

Dazmund for posting the complete list of hidden teams. That post of yours gave
me the idea to create this FAQ. So I owe you an awful lot. Thanks!

    FAQ may be published.
