Hi again folks, in this FAQ you'll find a everthing you want and I hope need to
know about MOD in Dead Island Riptide. This is not a walkthrough so don't
except or be mad about it. i don't tell where or how to complete some specific
quest in the game and in some parts there will be a chance of spoiler about
something in the story of the game. Besides that I hope you enjoying reading
this and find what you want.

<4-What is a mod?>

Mod is a collectable item that you can find in the game this item look like
a blue rolled paper (when you have to find it), you can gain them as reward
after complete a specific quests in the game or you can buy from someone.
These kind of items allow you to make or modify weapons in the game when you
have the proper parts and money, and or specific qeapon. When a weapons is
moded they can be recognized by a prefixe before the original name of the
weapon. In this FAQ the mods will be ordered by type, main places and
letter. The main places will be divide as: Jungle, Tunnel (the dungeon connect
The Jungle to Ferry Station), Ferry Station and Henderson.

<5-Effects Explanation>

In General all the elemental effects do the same thing: An additional damage
with the element, showing by a colored number, and a special effect in a
critical hit for a period of time. The force and the time of the effect it's
showed by the number below the symbol of the element.

Shock: The color of the damage is purple and its critial causes the enemy to be
electrocuted causing damege overtime when this happen the enemy can't attack.
Shock symbol is a single bolt.

Fire: The color of the damage is orange and its critical put the enemy on fire
causing damege over time, he still can attack when in this state. Fire symbol
is a single flame.

Bleed: The color of the damage is red and its critial cause a bleeding in the
enemy causing damage overtime, th enemy still can attack in this state. Bleed
symbol is three drops.

Poison: the color of is green and its critical causes the enemy to vomit
causing damage overtime, in this state he can't attack. Poison symbol is 
skull with crossbones

Impact: The color of the damage is purple and its critial causes the enemy to
fly away causing a huge damage when he hits a wall or a floor,somtimes
dismember himself when hits something. Impact symbol is 3 bolts

Explosion: Weapons with Explosion attributes have the power to explode when
you throw them hitting a target or not, for this drop doesn't trigger the
explosion effect. Explosion symbol is an explosion, curious fact doesn't it.

Critical Chance: This increase the percentage change to get a critical hit in
weapon. Critical change symbol is a skull with a hole.

<6-Notes and observations>

This is a quick explanation on the fields of the mods:

<6.1-Melee and Gun mods>

[Name] (Color): [Name] is the name of the mod, (Color) is the color that the
mod has in the invetory menu. These colors will be from the most common to the
most rare: (W)=White, (G)=Green, (B)=Blue, (P)=Purple, (O)=Orange

Location([Name]): This will be showed when you have to find a mod, and this is
the description of the place where the mod can be found. [Name] is the name
of the nearst landmark to the place of the mod or it will be a specific dungeon
 where the mod will be like Crossroads Bungalow in Jungle. The Mods found in
Tunnel will not have the [name] field because the main area itself is a
dungeond.

Mainquest/Sidequest/Teamquest([name]): This is showed when a mod is gained by
reward finishing the [name] quest. This shows which quest you will need to
complete with the description of the person that gives you the quest and what
type is it.

Bought from [Name]: This is showed when you have to buy the mod from [Name]
with a short description of where you can find and how he is look like with
the price of the mod.

Description: This the text that shows up when you select the mod in the
inventory menu.

Effect: this is the effect that the weapon gain after you use it.

Name: Prefix that the weapon gain when you use the mod.

Commom Weapons: this is the group of weapons that the mod can be used with.

Legendary Weapons: same as common weapons, but now with the legendary weapons.
Legendary weapons are weapons that are considered uniques in the game, this
means not that you can only get one in each save but they are different
because each one has its own name. If this section is missing means that the
mod don't work with legendary weapons even if the legendary itself has the
same class of the commom of the mod. For example: If you have a Blunt Speaker,
legendary baseball bat, you can't use the Shredder mod because the Blunt
Speaker is not in the weapon list list of this mod.

Parts needed: this is the list of items with the amount necessary to use the
mod.

Price: The cost for each use of the mod.

Video: A link for a youtube video show how to get the mod. This section will
exist only if the mod is found in the game and not reward by some quest or
bought from someone.

<6.2-Thorw and Ammunitaion mods>

and most of the time a elemental effect.

Location(Marik's Marina):It's in the workshop where you get the boat engine.
After get the engine you just need to turn right and you will see the mod on
a shelf

Description: Here is a simple way to use barbed wire as an addiction to various
types of clubs. Thanks to this easy procedure you'll be able to seriously
mutilate any unlucky chap on the other side.

That is her second quest.

Description: The instructions below will allow you to heat up the blade of a
machete to a temperature so high you will be able to cut throught the flesh of
the walking dead like butter. I advise you to be careful while using it -- it
can cause serious burns.

club (ideally a metal one), then you'll be able to assemble a mace that will
come in handy in the current circumstances. ablow from this appliance should be

Location(Jimmy's Workshop): Its in the room where you get the Heavy Duty Pump
to Dry the water to the passage for the tunnel its right of a workbench and

Description: Regular brass knuckles may not suffice handle an enemy that
doesn't feel a thing and whose only desire is to eat your face. The inspiration
for my upgraded brass knuckles  was a certain superhero -- with the addition of
a couple sizeable blades you'll make those freaks mince meat. I wish you luck,

of the entrance of the Ocean View Bungalows on a shelf

Description: i found that a piece of blade and some eletricity is enough to
stun a half-dead son of a bitch. All you have to do is use insulating tape to
stick a battery and some wires to a blade and ... voila! -- we've got a fancy
toy.

Location(Research Laboratory): When you enter in the area go to the left and
you will find a mine field, shoot the mines with a pistol or throw a weapon to
make them explode, after you pass that field you will find a bunker the mod
will be on the second floor under the bed.

Description: Below I describe a way to turn a knife into an eletric grenade.
You throw this contraption at the walking dead,, the blade plunges into the
rotting meat, and at the same time realeses an eletric charge that will strike
anyone around the hit. Son of bitch. I should get a Nobel prize for this
invation!

you'll alse need a bladed weapon you can use it with. A poisoned blade is
always better than an untained one, I know a thing or two about it... Just make
sure you follow the procedure carefully.

deactivate two tower, the same area where is the fast travel, you will see a
ladder in the right climb it and the mod will be near the metal chest.

Description: I made something up that I don't have a name for yet... maybe an
eletric rifle? I don't know about that... But getting to the point --  a
weapon modified this way is capable of eletrocuting in addition to dealing the
usual damage. I strongly advise you to make use of it if yiu want to deal with
the plague more effectively.

as pie as long as you don't accidentally barbecue yourself.

pukefest. Just remember not to stand upwind when using it!

active the sidequest ER Given by Sean, he is the guy who sells Medical
Equipament in Makesgift Hospital, to go there first.

Description: Combine a couple deodortants in the way I describe and you'll have
a homemadebomb! Just make sure the bottles aren't empty!

Exploding Meat (W)

Location(Ferry Station): After you pass the bridge for the south part of the
city go down to the stairs on your left the mod will be in the end of the
corridor behind some crates.

Description: Warning, This is not a cooking recipe! A piece of carcass wired
with explosives can save your life. If you're not a fanatic vegetarian you can
certainly manage this. Remember to fasten the explosives tightly to the flesh
so it doesn't fall apart prior to delivery.

the map go north from there and you will see a small barricade the mod eill be
of the right side it's the same place where you can get the Diary 10.

Description: Okay, now I know this sounds disgusting, but hear me out. A jar
filled with flesh can be used to bait the walking dead. Throw it hard and when
it shatters the undead wil gather around it like vuntures over a rotting
carcass.

Description: According to my observations, the brains of those ubiquitous
damned still remain active although in quite a peculiar way. One can take
advantage of this by adjusting their brainwave frquencies using my invention.

This section is for future section about question that readers could send me in
the future. Now i will anwser some question that i think those readers could
have about it.

Q1-How do you know these mods really exists?

A1-Since there isn't a official list that I could find on the Internet I made
that list from the mods that I could find from the web and also from the mods
that i found that there isn't on the web. I am saying here about offical list
as anyone in the time that I posted this FAQ didn't find yet a Shotgun Ammo
blueprint and that is my reason for this kind of answer.

Q2-Is there a way to unmod a weapon?

A2-No, unfortunately if you mod a weapon that weapon can never be unmoded.

Q3-I can find the parts to use the Electrotherapy for a second time do you
have any Where i can get it.

A3-Well you will need to do the side quest again. Yes pal seriously you use the
quest items you found for this sidequest as parts for the mod. So you can only
use once per playthrough.So if you want to use for more than one time you will
have to play cooperative with some one that doesn't finish this quest yet or
finish the game.

Q4-what I gain get the same mod in another play?

A4-I think you gain nothing more, just the satifaction to get it again.
Remebering that if you get a mod in a previous playthrough by finding it you
will not see him anymnore in the future even if you play in coioperative mod.
But other players can see it if they did not get them yet.

Q5-I can find the Hooligan Mods that you write about just the Striker mods
intead of. Is this some kind of bug?

A5-I'm playing the PC version and I found Hooligan mods, but I already had this
doubt once. when I searched for an answer on the web that is what i found: the
PC players can find hooligan mods and the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 players
can find striker mods, but in the end for the game they are the same. So
making a short answer: no it's not a bug.

Q6-Why you put videos of you own channel?

A6-I put them because this way i know they can only be deleted by myself and
not by another person.

Q7- What you use to record the videos?

A7-I use a program named "fraps" and another one named "WinAVI All in One
Converter" to downsize the videos.
