Goku. What do you think of when you hear that name? Strongest fighter in
the DBZ universe or greatest character in DBZ Budokai? Well, I'm gonna
assume both seen as how you are reading this FAQ. I too am a huge DBZ fan
and I love this game. I am writing this FAQ as a service to those who
would like to master Goku's technique. Read on and enjoy.

' 4 Who is Goku?
 '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Goku is one of the main characters in the Dragon Ball, DBZ, and DBGT series.
He is a Saiyan from the planet Vegeta and was sent to Earth as a child to
one day grow up an take over the Earth for the Saiyans. One day he was
out with his Grandpa Gohan and he hit his head. He get amnesia and
forgets all about his mission. He becomes a good guy and all throughout
the three series he saves the world time and again with the help of
his friends. In the DBZ series he has two kids, Gohan and Goten. Goku is
also the first Saiyan to transform into the legendary Super Saiyan. He is
Always training and striving to be the strongest.

These are the abbreviations I will use in this FAQ:

P - Punch
K - Kick
E - Energy
G - Guard
> - Forward
< - Back
+ - When two or more moves are connected with a + they need to be pressed
    simultaneously
U - Up
D - Down

These are the controls I use and I think this is a good setup. Try them
for yourself:

Square - Punch
Triangle - Kick
Circle - Energy
X - Guard
R1 - P+K
R2 - P+K+G+E
L1 - P+G
L2 - P+K+G


Here is how to:

Ki Blast - Press E (Each time you do a Ki Blast it uses 1/4 of a Ki gauge)

Select Goku's alternate costume - At the character select screen press Square
instead of X when selecting Goku

Taunt - Press P+K+G+E

Evade - Press U+G or D+G

Dash - Tap >> quickly (Hold the second >)

Dash Attack - Tap >> quickly (Hold the second >) and when you get to your
opponent press P, K, or P+K

Guard Break Moves - P+K or >+P+K or <+P+K

Deflect Ki - Press G just as the blast is about to hit you

Recover Quick - Press G immediately as character lands

Raise Ki Gauge - Hold G and tap << (hold the second <)

Destroy Arenas - Certain fighting arenas can be destroyed (only a giant
crater remains) when Goku launches a Spirit Bomb. The only difference is
when Planet Namek is destroyed it doesn't leave a regular crater it
turns into the planet when it is about to explode during the battle
with Goku and Frieza.

Vaccine - Negates the Viral Heart Disease for your character - Activated

Super Holy Water - Damage percentage is reduced - Effective every time you

Saiyan Heritage - After a senzu bean is used your power and defence is
increased - Activated after senzu bean is used

Ki Flash - Opponents Ki blasts fail - Activated everytime a Ki blast is
thrown at you

Serious! - Attack power increases when health is below 1/3 - Activated as
soon as your health drops below 1/3

Serious!! - Attack power increases when health is below 1/2 - Activated as
soon as your health drops below 1/2

Serious!!! - Attack power increases when health is below 2/3 - Activated as
soon as your health drops below 2/3

Rage! - Attack power goes up during the first 10 seconds of a fight -

Juggles are when you hit an opponent into the air and use combos to keep
that opponent in the air for as long as you can. Juggles take alot of
practice to get good at, but when you do get good at them it adds a whole
new aspect to your technique. The following is a list of the combos you
can use to hit your opponent into the air:

1) <+P
2) P>+PP
3) <+P<+P
4) <+KP

Once you get your opponent into the air you need to quickly follow up
with a combo. You can use just about any combo, but below is a list
of the best combos, in my opinion, for juggling with Goku:
