"A truly remarkable game that every PS3 owner should own"

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the fourth title in the Metal Gear Solid series. It follows up after the events of what happened in MGS2. Solid Snake is now old and he boasts a totally different appearence. He is no longer the guy you have seen in past Metal Gear games now. MGS4 takes the series into a whole new level of gameplay and style and improves upon features that were introduced in previous versions of the game. Hideo Kojima has truly created one of the most terrific masterpieces he has ever done to take the PS3 to the limit.

Graphics - 9.5/10

Terrific environments, incredibly detailed lifelike models, and much more compelling textures. The game runs very smooth at 60 frames per second, although at some times it can drop to 30 frames per second. You will be astonished by how smooth that MGS4 is like. Facial expressions are realistic in the game and really show what the character's motions and feelings are in the game. The graphics looks truly remarkable for a PS3 title that will make you astonished by playing every minute of the game

Story - 9/10

The story is really compelling in the game just like the previous MGS games. It feels like watching a cinematic experience right inside your own house with it's remarkable cutscenes that will make it feel like a movie. Most of the characters in previous MGS games have returned to take on new roles in the game. Raiden is no longer the same that he was in MGS2. He has turned into a cyborg ninja in the game and has a much more compelling role. Other characters coming back include Otacon, Ocelot, Colonel, Meryl, Vamp, etc. Kojima has also put in his own twists and humor in the game that was a stable in the series since the original MGS. You can find nothing more but a great and compelling experience.

Gameplay - 10/10

This is where the game truly shines. The experience is no different than any previous MGS games you had encountered before. Snake may be old, but his experience has not changed. You will face even more tougher enemies and exciting new bosses in the game. There are also over 70 weapons and any extra weapons you find can be traded in for Drebin Points, a new innovative feature in MGS4, to upgrade your weapons. Also in the game is the Octo-Camo, which is a really fun thing to mess around with including the textures and bump mapping. You will find so much enjoyment out of this game.

Sound - 10/10

The music is the most compelling music I ever heard in a video game. MGS4 supports 5.1 surround sound and has some of the best music that you will ever listen to. It really sets the style for the game at certain times when there is a dramatic cutscene. You will enjoy listening to the experience while playing this game

Conclusion

This is the best Metal Gear game by far. With stunning textures, high quality cutscenes, and remarkable gameplay, this is one adventure that you cannot miss out. If you are a PS3 owner, definitely buy this. This is a must have for any PS3 owner's collection. There is also a limited edition of the game with box artwork by Yoji Shinkawa, a Blu-ray containing two "making of" documentaries, and the game soundtrack going on for $84.99 at Gamestop. For non-PS3 owners who want to buy one specifically for this game, there is a 80GB version which includes MGS4 and a 40GB version which includes a special Gunmetal Gray PS3 and the Limited Edition version of MGS4. Whatever you can, you must play MGS4
