I need as many different combinations to beat this god darn thing...
So guys, what party members and paradigms should I use?
Also, what accessories should I use as well to beat Long Gui's the easiest and quickest?

Additional details - 3 years ago

What exact 4 accessories? Also, how do I get gaian rings? i think i might need genji gloves and connoisseur and collector catalogs cause I'd be farming for dark matter.

For accessories, you'll need Gaian Rings, damage reduction, and possibly Instant Chain accessories. Basically make sure your party is as sturdy as possible, and after that the chance to instant chain is a bonus.

I use Fang, Sazh, and Vanille, although you could substitute in Hope and maybe Snow. For Paradigms, use Sab/Syn/Sab to start, until you're done buffing your party and debuffing at least one leg. Then use Rav/Rav/Rav on the leg until it's staggered. Com/Rav/Rav until it's about to de-stagger, and use Fang's Highwind move. That should kill the leg. Repeat on the other leg. Sab/Syn/Sab again until the head is debuffed, then Rav/Rav/Rav to stagger, Com/Com/Com for damage. Rinse and repeat.

For your last two Paradigms, set up a Sen/Med/Med for healing and Sen/Sen/Sen whenever it's about to use Ultima (or Roar, but you have to be really fast about it). If you're still having trouble, substitute in a Med in some of your Paradigms (such as Rav/Rav/Med, Com/Rav/Med, or Sab/Syn/Med).

Assuming you've already beaten the final stuff this is probably the fastest way to get the job done.

Start off with a party of Sazh (captain)/ Snow/ and Hope. Equip the Hi-Pleidas(I think it's what they are called, they're is something around that name) on and Sazh upgrade it fully. Equip whatever else you want for accessories. After entering the battle, make sure you have the paradigms Rav/Rav/Rav and Com/Com/Rav or Com. Start by summoning Brynhildr, and Ravage the head. Once it's staggered switch to the Commando paradigm and relentlessly use blitz on the head. If done correctly you should kill in one stagger.

Notes: Creating a paradigm to setup buffs helps, wearing strength boosting accessories helps, make sure not to activate gestalt mode with Brynhildr, truthfully I was only watching a video over this I've never actually done it yet

ok I have a strategy thats easy, but not fast. in all it could take 9-12 minutes to kill.

THE MAIN THING TO KNOW IS that you CANNOT (CANNOT) reduce the Damage of Ultima.
so

Maxed out cryst for easier battle

Party you should use, Snow(Leader),Lightning,Hope
Equipment
Tier 2 or 3 Weapons
Tier 3 is highly recommended for 6th ATB

6th ATB bar is Obtained by getting a 3rd tier Weapon
3rd tier weapon is obtained by upgrading your weapon with
a trapezohedron.

Accerories
Snow
Weapons
Save the Queen(Upgraded from Paladin)
You want this so you can give Snow the Perfect Defense ability when u Use
Steelguard or MediGuard when u block Ultima
Perfect defense makes it so you ONLY take 1% or less of total damage
you take from ANY attack ( highly Suggest you only use when he casts Quake,Roar and Ultima)

Genji gloves(If you have them)
Generals Beltx3(x4 if you dont have genji gloves)

Lightning
Genji gloves(If you have them)
Generals Beltx3(x4 if you dont have genji gloves)

Hope
Twenty sided dice(If you have it)
Generals beltx3(x4 if you dont have twenty sided dice)

Paradigms

Sen/Sen/Sen(Main)
Rav/Com/Rav(Lightning should be Com)
Syn/Syn/Syn
Med/Med/Med
Sab/Sab/Sab
Com/Com/Com

if you want to use shrouds it will make the battle go faster
along with a summon

Helpful Tip!
When Playing Snow its Best to Cast Cura 3 times in a Row(2 times if you dont have 6th ATB bar)
Because the others will get you and your party into Green HP while using this 2 or 3 times will get you full HP and ready for another assualt or rebuffing, Re-debuffing.

First you want to Stay in Sen/Sen/Sen for Ultima, then go Med/Med/Med for Recovery.
Now go Sab/Sab/Sab and Manually Cast Slow on the Long Guis Head to slow him down and give you tiem for Buffing. Go syn/syn/syn(You can Skip the buffing phase if you use Shrouds, But come back After Debuffing for Enfire) As Snow, You want to cast Bravery,Faith and Vigilence on all party members,
You should have Haste,Protect,Shell on you by then, if you dont have Veil on all party members I suggest waiting until Hope casts it on all party members. ok time for Debuffs, go Sab/Sab/Sab and Auto Cast Curse on Both Legs, then if you want you can cast Slow or something on one of the Legs to Increase the Stagger bar while u wait for Hope and Lightning Cast Imperil,Deprotect,Deshell and Poison on both legs, If the Long Guis Head runs out of slow Recast it on him, when it sticks then your ready for your assualt(If you started with Shrouds go Syn/Syn/Syn for Enfire. Go Relentless Assualt and Take out both legs, IF HE CASTS ULTIMA,ROAR, or MOST LIKELY QUAKE GO TORTOISE, or Sen/Sen/Sen the Med/Med/Med for Fast Recovery. WHENEVER YOU GET HALF HEALTH(In the YEllow) OR IN THE RED HP GO Med/Med/Med for Fast Recovery. Once he Falls go Sab/Sab/Sab and Cast SLOW ON HIM, then cast Curse on him, wait for Lightning and Hope to put Imperil,Poison,Deprotect,Deshell on him. once these are on him go Relentless Assualt to Stagger him to at least 950% then go Cerberus for the BEAT DOWN! once the Stagger is ALmost Up Use Snows SOVERIEGN FIST! to Deal 2-4 MILLION DAMAGE TO HIM, you can ONLY do this damage to him with a genji Glove but it still does ALOT of damage without one. Once he starts to get up go Sen/Sen/Sen for his Attacks that follow. once you Survive it go Med/Med/Med to Recover then Repeat the First Steps to Take out his Legs again. Its also IMPORTANT to know that your buffs will ALL wear off at ODD times so its best to g oand REfresh them when ANY of these Buffs wear off on THESE SPEFIC characters

Lightning/ Protect,Shell,Faith,Haste,Bravery

Hope/Protect,Shell,Faith,Haste

Snow/Haste,Bravery,Faith,Protect,Shell

if you follow this strategy and NOTHING goes wrong you should Beat the Long GUi within 9-13 minutes
best part about this strategy is

ITS NOT BASED ON LUCK like ALL THE OTHERS ARE

NO SUMMONS

NO SHROUDS

and NO SPAMMING DEATH

I Hope this Helps you

I am stuck on him to, but i know that going sen, sen, sen whenever he uses quake, roar or ultima and having at least 1 sen in each paradigm is helpfull
