Resident Evil 5's vast replayability shines from a mini-game that has been in
the series since part 3.  With 8 different stages, 10 'different' characters
and a whole lot of different strategies to play each stage, Mercenaries has
pushed things to the limit with the online Co-Op playability and implementation
of Leaderboards.

At first, Mercenaries may seem tough - perhaps too tough for your liking. Please
don't expect to score an SS Rank on your first play through a stage.  No one has
ever done it, and no one - most likely - ever will, simply because Mercenaries
requires you to slowly memorize a stage, looking for possibilities, strategies,
relying on information you know offhand about treasures, time and combo bonus
items, and spawning conditions of the various enemies.

Of course, that is a process which isn't accomplished over just a mere few hours
of playing.  With this Guide at hand you'll find that you have a distinct
advantage over others who don't know about this information.  Work your way up
by memorizing information and adopting your own perfected strategies, meet
experienced - perhaps legendary - partners, and always aim for the top. I know..
you can do it!

You can initiate a combo by killing enemies quickly one after another, within
the time span of 10 seconds.  Doing this allows you to rack up those points
tremendously, especially when you manage to get lengthy combo's.  It's not
necessary to pick up a Combo Bonus item in order to perform combo's, but these
nifty items - which are found in brown chests - will add an additional 1000
points on top of the regular combo bonus, and they last 30 seconds.  Way to jack
up your score!  See below for the regular additional points you gain by 
performing combos:

Whenever you see an orange time bonus statue, approach it and destroy it with
a Melee Attack to gain either a +30, +60, or a +90 seconds time bonus.  You'll
want to get these time bonuses first since you'll definitely need all of them
in order to get the best scores.

Note: Killing an enemy with a melee attack will add +5 seconds to the timer.

There are 8 stages in total, and you unlock a stage by completing the one before
it with a B ranking or higher. All stages are locations somehow related to 
Resident Evil 5, but stages differ in The Mercenaries mode.  Full details on

150 enemies spawn per stage (including chickens and the initial set of enemies,
which are not shown in the tables below - yet).  Killing them all will end the
stage automatically, granting you a time bonus (as explained above).

This DLC can be bought from Xbox Live or Playstation Network for approx $5.

The stages and characters are roughly the same, but the mechanics are somewhat
different from the regular Mercenaries games, so that is exactly what this
section will cover.

Writing a walkthrough for Versus would be undoable and certainly wouldn't do
justice to what this mode can offer.  Instead, let's start by giving some basic
tips, followed by more strategic advice, after which the mechanics are uncovered
for each mode.

TIP #1: Since you'll also be facing other players, a word of warning: Other 
        players will be much more aggresive than anything in-game, as is usually
        the case with online matches.  Be sure to spot their red targetting 
        laser and try to stay out of their scope sight as much as you can.  Move
        at all times, and never stand in front of someone trying to inflict as 
        much damage as you can.  A much better idea is to instead run right past
        them, do a quick turnaround and shoot them in the head.  Quickly run 
        past them once more and repeat.  This way (unless they are a rather 
        skilled player) they can't get you in their sight, but you *can* get 
        them in yours!

TIP #2: Snipers will want to stay close to their partner.  Although the regular
        Sheva can certainly hold their own with her Machine Gun, it doesn't hurt
        having a partner on your side when players get up close!

TIP #3: Make use of the GPS map to quickly spot other players - who have a
        different color.  When playing as a team, quickly differentiate between
        the competing team's color and your own.

TIP #4: Levels in which Proximity Mines are the most effective are Ancient Ruins
        and Prison.  These maps have many commonly passed corners.  Placing a
        Proximity Bomb just around the corner is a real deathtrap, especially if
        you can quickly rush in to finish the job.

TIP #5: When you die, your initial weapon's clip is refilled.  You can greatly
        use this to your advantage with certain characters.  While it isn't a
        big deal when a regular handgun is refilled, it can certainly come in
        handy when - for example with regular Sheva in Slayers - an entire
        Machine Gun is refilled

TIP #6: When you're the leading player, try hard to not get grabbed by Majini's
        as - because of the upped difficulty - it is very hard to break free
        from a grapple on difficulty grade 10.

TIP #7: During a match of Slayers, be sure to snatch all the Combo Items ASAP.
        Not only does this help you rack up your score enormously, it also
        cuts your foes short on these bonuses.  Leave the Time statues alone
        unless your foes are about to win the battle.  Why bother to increase
        the time if you're just aiming to win the round?

Survivors Modus:
================
o Enemy spawn rates are reduced, and less enemies will spawn simultaneously.
o Combo's are gone.
o Points are only gotten by damaging other players, and no points are gotten
  from killing or shooting regular enemies.
o Players take 50% damage from regular monsters while inflicting 150% to them.
o Monsters and Majini have a drop rate of 100% for a random item.
o You can find weapon upgrades on the maps and you start with one weapon.
o When you get killed you get a deduction of 1000 points, and if you kill an
  other player you'll receive 1000 points.


Slayers Modus:
==============
o Time Bonuses and Combo Bonuses remain identical to regular Mercenaries games.
o The player with the lowest scores automatically receives double points for
  all their actions - allowing them to keep up.
o Players take 70% damage from regular enemies such as Majini's.
o If you defeat another player during a Combo, your bonus will be the same as
  defeating Boss Enemies.  So during a 5-Combo, killing a player nets you +2000
  points, and during a 6-Combo you're rewarded with 2500 points for example.
o When you die you will randomly respawn on the map.
o The Difficulty Grade is fixed, but depends on your ranking during the match.
  If you're the #1 player you're facing Grade 10 Difficulty, while all other
  players will be playing on Grade 6 Difficulty.  
o Damage multipliers are not in effect on Versus Mode, so the difficulty will
  mostly be visible in the time you are given to input button commands.
