    Introduction
    ------------
    
    
    
    The purpose of this mini-Guide is to provide some clarification
    on the range of items found or "dropped" throughout the game and to 
    then suggest the best items and levels for simulation play.
    
    
    
    ITEMS
    -----
    
    
    There are two varieties - the standard Superhero item
    and the rarer Boss item.
    
    
    SUPERHERO ITEMS
    ---------------
    
    
    The Superhero items can be found in weapon caches and are also
    dropped by Bosses. These items provide Power bonuses and are 
    all character specific - meaning they cannot be equipped by 
    another character.
    
    A Superhero item will always be one of the following:

    Gauntlets - Thor (+ 2 Damage, + 1 to North Winds)

    NOTE!	
    
    There are NO Superhero items for Blade or the Silver Surfer in
    EASY or NORMAL mode.
    
    
    Due to the random distribution of the items any attempt at
    cataloguing every single item becomes problematic. Repeated
    playthroughs (3 - 4 times) are still NO guarantee that every 
    item will be found or "dropped" by a Boss.

    The Boss items are superior to the Superhero items, and as
    such should be equipped whenever possible.

    SIMULATION TACTICS
    ------------------
    
    
    
    The Simulations can be challenging, as some characters have
    greater offensive powers than others and may in fact not be
    suited to coping with the multiple foes appearing in their
    designated Simulation. There are, therefore, three different
    different classes of heroes:
    
    
    Classes:
    
    
    
    A - Perfectly suited to combat in all areas - RADIAL, RANGED
        MELEE.
    	
    
    B - Possess 1 - 2 strong abilities. Usually lacking a strong
        RADIAL ability.
    
    
    C - Lacking offensively and/or defensively. Usually low Health 
        and ALWAYS needing a Boss item to boost abilities.
    
    
    
    NOTE THE FOLLOWING!	
    
    
    1.
    
    If wishing to achieve success and possibly a Bronze or higher
    ranking with EVERY character, it is recommended that the
    Simulations are NOT played until ALL Boss items have been 
    retrieved from a first playthrough of the game.
    
    The C - Class characters will need to be AT LEAST Level 40
    to maximise their chances of success. Without maximum point
    allocation to some characters' strongest ability, the Simulation
    will be difficult.
    
    
    2.
    
    The key to success is to ROTATE through the Boss items as they can 
    assist with both offence and defence. This can even be done 
    mid-combat.
    
    
    3.
    
    Characters can STILL be attacked during Extreme attacks.
    
    
    4.
    
    ENERGY will NOT regenerate during FLIGHT.
    
    
    5.
    
    When fighting Bosses, the key to success is to keep reducing their 
    Health by 20%, at which point they will always drop both HEALTH 
    and POWER Orbs.
    
    
    
    
    
    Locations:
    
    
    
    HELICARRIER
    -----------
    
    
    General Tips:
    
    
    Straight-forward if defeating all foes before advancing to the next room.
    Use BLOCK and ROLL when needed and use GRAB and throw enemies into one another 
    to stun.
    
    
    Ultron Striker:
    
    
    They only possess physical attacks. GRAB and throw and focus on foes using
    ranged attacks FIRST.
    
    
    Ultron Warrior:
    
    
    They attack with energy pulses that can be easily blocked or avoided with
    flight if watching. Warriors will ALWAYS move back before using the pulse
    attack.
    
    
    Doombot:
    
    
    They use a damaging ranged attack and should be dealt with FIRST.

    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Use RESERVE STRENGTH and then enter rooms using SHIELD TOSS. Target
    Doombots FIRST and try and line foes up for multiple knockdowns. 
    
    Use GRAB and toss and then MELEE attacks. Once Power Orbs are collected
    attack outstanding foes with SHIELD BASH.
    
    
    Boss (Winter Soldier):
    
    
    Use the Extreme Attack then RESERVE STRENGTH and then repeated attacks with 
    SHIELD BASH. Once Power is gone BLOCK and use MELEE between the Winter 
    Soldier's attacks. 
    
    
    NOTE! Constant use of the timers (depress SQUARE) will push the time back up
    to a maximum of a minute.
    
    
    
    DAREDEVIL
    ---------
    
    
    
    Class : B

    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Use HYPERSENSE to improve vision and follow with repeated use of 
    EXTENSIVE STRIKE. Also use GRAB and throw enemies, followed by MELEE attacks 
    to collect POWER Orbs for continued use of HYPERSENSE. 
    
    BATON THROW is also useful in controlling crowds.
    
    
    Boss (Bullseye):
    
    
    Use the Extreme attack and then stay as CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to Bullseye to 
    limit his ranged attacks. BLOCK and repeatedly use EXTENSIVE STRIKE and
    MELEE.
    
    
    
    
    INVISIBLE WOMAN
    ---------------
    
    
    
    Class : A
    
    
    Recommended Costume:

    EXECUTIONER'S AXE
    
    
    
    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Constantly use FANTASTIC SHIELD and follow up with KINETIC BOLTS.
    Use CONCUSSION BLAST to keep the Ultron Strikers from getting too
    close.
    
    Boss (Radioactive Man):
    
    
    Arguably the easiest Boss fight. Maintain FANTASTIC SHIELD and simply
    use KINETIC BOLTS between the Radioactive Man's attacks.
    
    
    
    IRON MAN
    --------

    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Use the RADIAL attack NANOASSAULT whenever possible to weaken foes, and 
    follow with UNI-BEAM. Keep moving to collect POWER Orbs and repeat. For 
    short bursts of MELEE use ENERGY REROUTE.
    
    
    Boss (Ultimo):
    
    
    Keep moving behind Ultimo and use ENERGY REROUTE + UNI-BEAM to force an
    Orb drop.
    
    
    
    LUKE CAGE
    ---------
    
    
    
    Class : B

    Constantly use STREET SMARTS. Use CHAIN STRIKE to scatter foes.
    Use GRAB and follow up with MELEE attacks. Use DRILL BIT to finish
    weakened foes.
    
    
    Boss (Ultron):
    
    
    A very difficult fight as Ultron's attacks are very damaging. Equip
    HEART OF MEPHISTO and CONSTANTLY BLOCK. ONLY attack when Ultron
    revolves to fire energy beams, and then IMMEDIATELY BLOCK again.
    
    
    
    SPIDER-MAN
    ----------

    Boss (Scorpion):
    
    
    Use WEB WARRIOR on AIM agents and then MELEE attacks. WEB BULLETS to 
    keep the Scorpion's attention from Dugan followed by MELEE attacks.
    
    
    
    THING
    -----
    
    
    
    Class : B
    
    
    
    Recommended Costume:
    
    
    Modern
    ------
    
    - Critical Strike

    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Constantly use TOUGH SKIN. Use HAND CLAP to stun foes and
    follow up with GRAB with MELEE attacks.
    
    Use UPPERCUT to stall extra foes.
    
    
    Boss (Rhino):
    
    
    Use TOUGH SKIN and keep the fight away from Mr. Fantastic. 
    BLOCK and WATCH for the Rhino's two horn attacks, and attack between 
    these. 
    
    
    
    
    SPIDER-WOMAN
    ------------
    
    
    
    Class : C
    
    
    Recommended Costume:

    HEART OF MEPHISTO
    
    
    ARMOUR OF GALACTUS (vs. Wrecker)
    
    
    
    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Constantly use METABOLIC AURA and follow with ENSNARE and then MELEE
    attacks on energy-resistant foes.
    
    Use a charged VENOM BLAST on Doombots. Unfortunately Extreme attacks
    are very ineffectual.
    
    
    Boss (Wrecker):
    
    
    Use FLIGHT and continually hover and pepper with VENOM BLAST.
    
    
    
    ------------------------------
    
    
    
    OMEGA BASE
    ----------
    
    
    General Tips:
    
    
    BLOCK and ROLL when confronted with several enemies with ranged attacks. Use
    enemies as shields and use GRAB and then throw to disorient. 
    
    
    AIM troops:
    
    
    Always attack shielded troops FIRST. Where possible throw surrounding crates 
    and containers to stun a shielded trooper before attacking another. Remove
    the shield, then GRAB and throw if other foes are present. 
    
    Avoid allowing 4 + troops adopt a pattern of constant blasting.
    
    
    Attack Bots:
    
    
    Always GRAB and break as this is faster than MELEE. Try and use as cover.
    
    
    Super Soldiers:
    
    
    Ranged attacks or a Stun combination are ideal to avoid their grab-and-throw 
    attack.
    
    
    Missions:
    
    
    
    ELEKTRA
    -------
    
    
    Class : C
    
    
    
    Recommended Costume:
    
    
    Ultimate
    --------
    
    - Energy Per Kill
    
    - Sai Damage
    
    - Defense
    
    
    
    
    Best Item:		
    
    
    DARK ELF ARMOUR (when surrounded)
    
    
    SPIDER'S BITE (general MELEE)
    
    
    HEART OF MEPHISTO (vs. Bullseye)
    
    
    
    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Maintain FOCUSED CHI and then use NERVE STRIKE and follow with repeated 
    SAI STAB and general MELEE to build the Extreme attack.
    
    
    Boss (Bullseye):
    
    
    Use the Extreme attack if possible. Stay as CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to Bullseye
    to prevent RANGED attacks and use FOCUSED CHI and DEATH'S TOUCH, followed
    by MELEE. 
    
    It is possible to corner Bullseye and force him to only use MELEE. If Bullseye 
    achieves some distance, study the attack pattern and move in between
    RANGED attacks.
    
    
    
    ------------------------------
    
    
    
    MURDERWORLD
    -----------
    
    
    General Tips:
    
    
    Clowns:
    
    
    The most damaging foes in the level, with a very strong physical and ranged 
    offensive. Ranged attacks are always best, followed by GRAB, throw and then 
    physical attacks while they are down. AVOID the acid attacks with BLOCK and 
    ROLL, which will always consist of a chest squirt followed by a hand-thrown 
    missile. 
    
    
    Murderbots:
    
    
    Only a real threat if present in numbers. BLOCK their machine gun attacks and
    wait for them to self-destruct (also blocking at this point).
    
    
    Androids:
    
    
    They have weak attacks and can be dealt with very quickly after use of GRAB and 
    throw by physical attacks or a charged energy attack.
    
    
    The Bumper Car Stage:
    
    
    ALWAYS equip the HEART OF MEPHISTO to maintain HEALTH and avoid acid attacks.
    
    
    
    Missions:
    
    
    
    BLACK PANTHER
    -------------
    
    
    
    Class : A
    
    
    
    Recommended Costume:
    
    
    Modern
    ------
    
    - Reflect Damage
    
    - Maximum Energy
    
    - Defense
    
    
    
    Best Item:		
    
    
    DARK ELF ARMOUR (when surrounded)
    
    
    GRAPPLING SPEED (for GRAB)
    
    			
    SPIDER'S BITE (for general combat)		
    
    
    
    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Maintain STEALTH and use CRIPPLING BLOW followed by GRAB and throw on 
    enemies. Occasional use of ENERGY DAGGERS can quickly deal with 
    Murderbots.
    
    
    Boss (Dark Captain America):
    
    
    Use the Extreme attack and then maintain STEALTH. Attack from behind with
    CRIPPLING BLOW and ENERGY DAGGERS then move and repeat.
    
    Remember to watch the trajectory of Dark Captain America's shield and
    block if needed.
    
    
    
    DEADPOOL
    --------

    DARK ELF ARMOUR (when surrounded)

    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Maintain distance from enemies and use DUAL SHOT. Use BATTLE CRY
    and move in to collect POWER orbs from defeated enemies and follow 
    with BLADE CYCLONE. 
    
    BE SURE TO KEEP MOVING AND TRY AND CIRCLE ENEMIES FOR MAXIMUM EFFECT.
    
    Use GRAB and toss with MELEE to build the Extreme attack.
    enemies.
    
    DOUBLE JUMP to teleport if becoming overwhelmed.
    
    
    NOTE!
    
    Bumper Car Stage - when equipped with the DARK ELF ARMOUR, Deadpool
    is capable of holding off the Clowns and Murderbots and destroying
    the obstacle on foot.
    
    
    Boss (Dark Spider-Man):
    
    
    Use a combination of BLADE CYCLONE and then teleport away and follow
    up with DUAL SHOT. GRENADE TOSS is also effective.

    Suggested Tactics:
    
    
    Equip ASGARD ARMOUR and stop outside every room and WITHOUT entering 
    constantly use LIGHTNING STRIKE on foes. Only enter once as many foes 
    as possible have been defeated. 
    
    When fighting Clowns at close range, equip DARK ELF ARMOUR and attack
    once they are stunned. 
    
    Also use WHIRLWIND ARMOUR and ROLL to dodge acid attacks. 
    
    Use of GRAB can also prevent Clown attacks.
    
    When in the bumper car stage, maintain WHIRLWIND ARMOUR and 
    AVOID the acid spills. 
    
    
    Boss (Hussar):
    
    
    Use the Extreme attack and then equip the HEART OF MEPHISTO. Continually 
    cast LIGHTNING STRIKE to maintain Storm until she can force an Orb drop. 
    
    If pushed, equip DEATHBIRD'S FEATHER and use FLIGHT to maintain distance
    from Hussar until healed enough to resume combat.
    
    Once Hussar is reduced a low level of Health, equipping ASGARD ARMOUR 
    will yield an almost instant win. 
    
    
    
    ------------------------------
    
    
    
    MEPHISTO'S REALM
    ----------------
    
    
    
    General Tips:
    
    
    Arguably the most difficult realm as many of the C - Class have their
    Simulation based here. The key to success is to attack, fall back and lead
    foes after the character, and then attack again. 
    
    
    
    Mephisto's Pet:
    
    The most dangerous foes in the level, as they possess ranged attacks that 
    can be very damaging. Use cover as much as is possible. Defeating these enemies 
    is always the FIRST priority.
    
    
    Demon Leapers:
    
    Easily avoided, but must be monitored at all times. Avoid being surrounded
    and try and use a ranged attack.
    
    
    Damned Souls:
    
    
    Problematic as they will try and grapple, which takes time, during which the
    character is susceptible to other attacks. Use GRAB and thorw, then follow with
    ranged attacks. Attacking Souls while they are down can build momentum for the
    Extreme attack.
    
    
    Fire Giants:
    
    
    The Fire Giants wield a giant sword that is invaluable. Characters should 
    ALWAYS steal the Sword (face the Giant and press SQUARE, then play the 
    mini-button game) and then use it against all foes. The first two Fire Giants 
    will respawn every minute, and constant re-use of their weapons is recommended. 
    
    A suggested strategy is to move the character forward to the first Fire Giant, 
    steal the Sword and then backtrack and defeat Mephisto's Pets FIRST.
    
    The character should ALWAYS take a Fire Giant's sword into the battle with the 
    Boss.
    
    
    NOTE!	Be sure to break the pots to the sides of areas for HEALTH + POWER Orbs,
    	but ONLY when needed.

    the pillars can be used as cover. Use FLASH BOMB to stun  foes and use
    a combination of SPIKE OF DESTRUCTION and MELEE to build momentum for an 
    Extreme attack.
    
    Repeatedly move forward and draw enemies back to enclosed areas.
    
    Steal a Fire Giant's sword and attack the Giant and other enemies with it 
    for a fast win.
    
    
    Boss (Dark Spider-Man):
    
    
    Equip HEART OF MEPHISTO. Ensure that Blade has a Fire Giant's sword at full 
    strength - drop the sword and use BLOOD OF THE WARRIOR, then pick it back up 
    and confront Dark Spider-Man. Once the dialogue is finished back away and let
    Dark Spider-Man attack Storm. As soon as this happens, attack until the sword 
    is destroyed.
    
    FORCE Dark Spider-Man to stay on the stairs, as this neutralises his "super
    punch". 
    
    Use the Extreme attack then maintain BLOOD OF THE WARRIOR and use a charged 
    SPIKE OF DESTRUCTION between attacks. The constant HEALTH received via the 
    HEART OF MEPHISTO will sustain Blade until reducing Dark Spider-Man's 
    health enough for an Orb drop.
    
    
    
    DR. STRANGE

    Boss (Baron Mordo):
    
    
    Ensure that Dr. Strange has a Fire Giant's sword at full strength. Once the 
    dialogue is finished back away and let Mordo attack Clea. As soon as this 
    happens, attack until the sword is destroyed.
    
    Use the Extreme attack if built up, and then MOVE AWAY from Mordo and attack
    with BLACK MAGIC. By keeping away from Mordo. Dr. Strange avoid his Freeze
    attack. The cue for the attack will be when Mordo stops and concentrates.
    
    
    
    GHOST RIDER

    Once the Sword is destroyed, MAINTAIN distance from Mordo to neutralise his
    Freeze attack and then pepper with RAVAGING FLAME.

    ground-based foes such as Demon Leapers and Damned Souls.
    
    Steal a Fire Giant's sword and attack the Giant with it for a fast win.
    
    If surrounded, equip DARK ELF ARMOUR and block, and once foes are stunned
    equip ATTUMA'S WRATH and use BLIZZARD followed by MELEE.
    
    
    Boss (Mysterio):
    
    
    Equip HEART OF MEPHISTO. Ensure that Iceman has a Fire Giant's sword at full 
    strength - drop the sword and use FRIGID AURA, then pick it back up and 
    confront Mysterio. Stay as CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to Mysterio and keep attacking
    until the sword is destroyed.
    
    Use the Extreme attack and then maintain FRIGID AURA, then switch BOOST skills 
    to FROST BITE, and continue MELEE attacks. The constant HEALTH received via the 
    HEART OF MEPHISTO will sustain Iceman until reducing Mysterio's health enough 
    for an Orb drop.

    ------
    
    
    General Tips:
    
    
    Foes on this level will constantly respawn, and as such a strong RADIAL attack
    is ideal.
    
    
    Clay Guardians & Loki Trolls:
    
    
    Both possess strong physical attacks.  DO NOT allow the character(s) to be 
    surrounded - constantly use a RADIAL attack, with light use of MELEE to build 
    momentum for the Extreme attack. Continue to collect Blue Orbs to maintain
    POWER and therefore RADIAL attacks.

    wooden pens. Achieve distance and then land and use repeatedly use HAMMER 
    TOSS.
    
    Use FLIGHT where needed to avoid Kurse (it is possible to fly back to the
    start of the level, where other foes have stopped respawning) and rebuild
    ENERGY and repeat until forcing an Orb drop.

    SKRULL WORLD
    ------------
    
    
    A relatively easy level as foes are sparse compared to other levels. 
    Characters can use the tactic of attacking, falling back and then 
    counter-attacking if necessary.
    
    
    Commandos:
    
    
    ROLL to dodge their blasts and use GRAB and then repeated MELEE. 
    
    
    Skrull Deviants:
    
    
    Very damaging MELEE attacks. Weaken with ranged attacks and then steal a 
    Deviant's Battle Axe. The Battle Axe can defeat foes in 3 quick strokes. 
    Steal and use whenever possible.
    
    
    Galactus Punishers:
    
    
    Use ranged attacks and AVOID their RADIAL attack by blocking. This attack 
    can be detected by watching the animation (they will ALWAYS leap and raise 
    both arms first). Once weakened GRAB and finish with MELEE.
    
    
    NOTE!	
    
    If becoming overwhelmed on the ramparts, it is possible to GRAB and
    throw enemies off.
    
    
    NOTE!	
    
    Both the HUMAN TORCH and MS. MARVEL can use FLIGHT and then a

    - RADIAL (Keeps sudden rushes at bay)

    Example: Daredevil's EXTENSIVE STRIKE, Thor's HAMMER TOSS

    It is possible to just alternate between SLOW TIME and a RADIAL attack 
    for most of the mission, as energy orbs will constantly drop and allow 
    ongoing use of abilities.
    
    
    Try and perform some MELEE to build the EXTREME attacks, which should be 
    saved for the Boss.
    
    
    Boss fights should always begin with SLOW TIME, and then ROTATE through 
    each characters' best attacks. Constantly rotation prevents the Boss from 
    focusing on just one character.
