"A GTA worth the collection"

Introduction: The latest installment has got fans of the Grand Theft Auto series on their toes with the much anticipated release. Thought to be one of the best selling games to date, Grand Theft Auto: IV did live up to its expectations and the hype despite being delayed in October.

Story 8/10: The game sets you as Niko Bellic, an immigrant of Europe fresh of the boat. You arrive to America's Liberty City only to discover that your cousin, Roman, is not living the high life that he has told the family back home. He turns out to be a scrub of the city; owing money to various gang bosses. Throughout the course of the game, you will find yourself a "hired gun" trying to scrape together money for your American high life and helping out your cousin. You also enjoy insane driving, firefights, theft, and other essentials that make Grand Theft Auto, well Grand Theft Auto!

Graphics/Sound 8/10: Graphics are a controversy between players. Sure, some say it lives up to the next-gen but others are not satisfied. When looking off into the distance, buildings and roads begin to look "flat" but this is a small setback to most. As you hit pedestrians (on accident of course) damage on your car will appear realistically (i.e, a smashed headlight, broken windshield, etc.) and the blood will show in appropriate places where the pedestrian was hit. Sounds have been revamped since its previous installments, pedestrians now talk on cell phones and respond as you bump into them, they also drink coffee, carry groceries, and read newspapers. The radio in the game is somewhat lacking, however. A player can go through a whole game play session and hear every song.

Playtime/Replayability 9/10: The story can range anywhere from 10-30 hours, that is if you do nothing but the story. The game's story will be enough to satisfy players for awhile, there is no need to rush through the story, what is a Grand Theft Auto with free roaming? And of course, with the free roam, comes the real replayability. Players can spend hours on end destroying Liberty City to their liking. A new feature of multiplayer has been added to this new installment. Players can now team up with up to 16 players online ane share the havoc with their buddies, or compete against each other in various adversarial modes to tear each other apart.

Final Recommendations: I would definitely recommend the game, rent first to get a taste and go for the buy. There is no way you could go wrong with this game.
