"A Must-Play For Fans of the Genre"
The controversial game series has come out with their latest installment, and a lot of hype has come with it. This is one game that fully lives up to the hype and then some.
Graphics: With the varying opinions about the game, most of them agree on the graphics. Outstanding. Any fan of GTA would be surprised with the graphics. The city is incredibly detailed, with absolutely no pop-up which was common in previous installments. The vehicles are incredibly detailed, with varying models, that are close to their real life equivalents but with visible differences. Character models are fine, but not the best, and the environment is flawless. The damaged car model has also become more realistic, with caved in engines, and sometimes, damages that can severally impair a car's performance, making it impossible to drive.
A superb 9.6/10
Gameplay: The legendary GTA gameplay returns, with violence and all. Shooting has been polished and has gotten a little easier with a brand new easy-to-manage cover system, simply press R2. Driving has gotten a little more complicated, with reworked controls at the beginning, but can be turned back to the classic layout. Driving around the city is incredibly fun, no matter how you drive, due to its realism. Despite all of these realistic changes that were made, Rockstar still made it possible to cause chaotic scenes. You can also befriend a limited number of employers, and date girlfriends through missions or dating sites. Having mentioned dating sites, Rockstar introduced an entirely new internet part of the gameplay, which is well done with over 100 websites to visit.
A well earned 10/10
Sound & Soundtrack: The guns and explosions sound great. Plus, there's nothing like the sound of hearing your high-powered sports car roar down a crowded street street. The city is complete with ambient sounds, and the chatter of pedestrians of phones, or just talking to a group of friends. When listening to music, the format has not changed, you listen to 18 or so radio stations complete with DJs and hilarious commercials. The music is well selected, with so many stations, there is a lot variety with a couple of stations that really fit the mood of whatever you are doing, a smaller amount of off-beat stations, which is not a bad thing, and three or so talk shows.
An excellent 9.7/10
Difficulty: Might be found as slightly easier than previous GTAs, it still has its challenging moments, and a storyline that is littered with choices to make. Some proving more important than others. Nothing that really detracts from or adds to the score here.
A game with incredible things to say about it, and a complete lack of significant things to complain about, this game is a must-play for fans of the genre, and should be explored by all gamers. Buy it if you haven't already.
