"The makers of Oblivion prove that a game can be so much more"

Wading through the radiation filled wasteland with nothing but a machine gun and my trusty dog I came to a realization: This is my world. Any choice I make, everywhere I turn is a decision to last me the rest of my lifetime. Staring out at the desolate wasteland that is post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. left me feeling like there was something more. Fighting of Ghouls in an rat infested sewer left me feeling dirty, so I went for a swim. Slaughtering a whole town of people left me feeling guilty, so I saved some helpless citizens from the towering onslaught of a major bomb catastrophe.
All these choices combine to make Fallout 3 an experience you will likely never forget.

Game play- 10/10

Geese, where to start? There is so much involved in this game, a simple paragraph will not do it justice, but I will try my best. You are a waste-lander, roaming the desolate and radiation filled catastrophe that is post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. The controls are tight, the battle system is excellent, providing you with the all new V.A.T.S. system. An enhanced battle tactic that will allow you to stop time to target specific body parts on an enemy. You are provided with a wide range of armor and weapons and tons of stats to upgrade and polish to your liking. The games exudes depth and before long you will lose yourself in the masterpiece that is Fallout 3. You will visit exciting (if not depressing) vista's, trek through endless sewers and explore vast landscape.

Story- 10/10

What could be greater than creating your own story? That in fact is what Fallout 3 excels at. Whether you want to be good or bad, or somewhere in between Fallout 3 has a place for you. To the many decisions you will make along your journey, and the grand finale at the end that decides your fate. Fallout 3 is a masterpiece, that lets you tell the story yourself. That is it's greatest achievement by far.

Sound- 10/10

The sound is exceptionally good, with a wide array of noises to fill the void while traveling. Great music will begin when a certain battle ensues, and the voice acting for such a wide range of characters will have you shaking your head in disbelief. The guns sound top notch, and even the many creatures you will encounter are filled with their own personal noises and grunts. Great sound, to an otherwise great game.

Overall- 10/10

A game that achieves such a compelling and grand storytelling atmosphere along with excellent game play and unique battle system is destined to be among the greatest games of all time. To the lowly vault 101, to where you start your life as an adult in the unforgiving wasteland, you shape your own future in this grand RPG. Fallout 3 not only achieves greatness through character development and detrimental dialog, but it also creates something far more: A world to call your own
