INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to my Equipment FAQ for Eternal Sonata(PS3)! This guide shows the
attack/defensive power, in-game description, location, and any additional
effect of every single weapon, armor, and accessory in the game. Hopefully,
this will prove useful to anyone looking to collect every item in the game.

questions or suggestions regarding this FAQ, or anything I might have missed.
Also, note that I'm not including EZI items in this FAQ. They are just gimmick
items with negative effects, and are only meant for collector's purposes.
Refer to a Score Piece guide for locations of them.
I've also included a Side Quest section at the end, as there have been many
questions on the board regarding the Dolce fights and such.

Dolce

The Dolce fights are mostly optional, but they yield great rewards. Here is how
to access each fight.
1. Pirate Ship Dolce- Story prompted; you can't miss this one.
2. Wah Lava Cave- Near the end of the dungeon(Middle 3), you'll see a dragon-
type enemy facing a large flower in the lava. Defeat the enemy to reveal an X
on the ground. Dolce will appear if you touch the X.
3. Baroque- As Beat, examine the 6 pillars in the Mandolin Church Catacombs:
South Section(the order that you read them doesn't matter). When you return to
Baroque, head to the bar and go down into the basement. Tell the man there that
"Her skin is starting to sag" to initiate the 3rd fight. This will be the last
fight if you're on normal mode.
4. Woodblock Groves- The 4th and last fight is only available on Encore mode.
Once you gain access to the teleporter in Baroque in Chapter 6 and can travel
the world freely, head to the Groves(South Center). There will be a device on
the side of the road where you can enter a password. Enter "3-2-1-4" to fight
Dolce, and finally gain access to her treasure.

Trade Quest

The trade quest involves trading a series of items over the course of the game.
The 1st part is optional, and only results in a mediocre accessory. The 2nd
part is only available on Encore mode(and requires access to the teleporter
in Baroque), and results in one of the best accessories in the game. You must
trade the items as soon as possible, as many of the NPCs involved in the
quest will disappear if you advance too far in the story.
Part 1:
1. Trade the Rat Tail you recieved from Bread Gang to one of the children in
the Ritardando Sewers for a Stick.
2. Trade the Stick to a man in Ritardando for Dentures.
3. Trade the Dentures to the old man in Agogo Forest for Green Paint.
4. Trade the Green Paint to the painter in Agogo Forest for Long Johns.
5. Trade the Long Johns to the goat herder on the Chorus Plains for
Goat's Milk.
6. Trade the Goat's Milk to a man in Hanon Hills for a Piggy Bank.
7. Trade the Piggy Bank to a boy in Forte for Speed Shoes.
8. Trade the Speed Shoes to a man in Hanon Hills for a Fruit Basket.
9. Use the Fruit Basket to help a man catch his mouse in the Cantabile Inn
for the Winder.
10. Trade the Winder to the onion monster in the Woodblock Groves for an
Empty Vase.
11. Use the Empty Vase to splash water on the fish monster in Adagio Swamp
for a Power Ring.
12. As Beat, talk to a kid in Ritardando to discover that one of the children
in the sewers is very sick. Trade the Power Ring to the woman in the house
across from the item shop for Cold Medicine.
13. Trade the Cold Medicine to the sick child in the sewers for a Spell Book.
14. Trade the Spell Book to the researcher in Baroque Castle for the Aria
Temple Key.
Note: Step 14 is story prompted and must be done to advance the plot. If you
didn't keep up with the Trade Quest, or opted to hold onto the Power Ring
(recommended), you can find a Spell Book in the Celeste Forest.
Part 2:
1. Talk to the Former Developer in Ritardando(in the cave near the beach).
2. Talk to the Former Servant in Baroque(near Lonesome Loco).
3. Defeat Rondo in Aria Temple to obtain the Heart Pendant.
4. Watch the scene with Chord in the locked room in Fort Fermata to recieve
a Pot.
5. Trade the Pot to a woman in Tenuto for Goat Stew.
6. Trade the Goat Stew to the goat herder on the Chorus Plains for a Coupon.
7. Trade the Coupon to the merchant in Hanon Hills for Honey.
8. Give the Honey to the researcher in Baroque Castle. He'll ask you for
some Agogo Droppings.
9. Trade 20 different pictures to the boy in Agogo Village for Agogo
Droppings.
10. Take the Agogo Droppings to the researcher, and spend the night at the inn.
11. Talk to the researcher again to get the Odd Candy.
12. Trade the Odd Candy to the merchant in Hanon Hills for a Glass Ball.
13. Talk to the priest in Baroque, who tells you to take the Glass Ball
to Aria Temple.
14. Examine the area where you fought Rondo in Aria Temple. The Glass Ball
will change into an Orb.
15. Place the Orb into the pedestal at the top of the Xylophone Tower to
reveal a chest containing the Lion's Chime.

Optional dungeons

Mysterious Unison:
After obtaining the Hero's Crest from the 2nd to last boss, head back to the
Noise Dunes. Go either left or right 3 times in a row to reach a giant gate.
The Hero's Crest will open the door. Along with the vast amount of equipment,
you can also unlock Party Level 6 here, and if you complete the whole dungeon,
you can take Claves with you anywhere. On Encore mode, since the Hero's Crest
carries over, you can complete the MU before ever entering the Double Reed
Tower.
Church of EZI:
To access this dungeon, play Score Piece 6 with Twilight Juju on the Chorus
Plains to get the EZI Free Pass. Then, head to the Sharp Mts, and head left.
You'll come to a glowing door, which can be opened with the Pass. The CoE
can only be accessed on Encore mode, once you have access to the teleporter
in Baroque. However, due to the high degree of difficulty, I recommend
completing the Double Reed Tower and the Mysterious Unison first.

Other quests

These three short side events require access to the teleporter in Baroque, and
therefore are only available on Encore mode.
Etude:
Head to Andante and enter one of the houses. There will be some dialogue
between Jazz and other members of Andante. There is no reward for this event.
Solfege:
Head to Tenuto and talk to Polka's mom for some extra dialogue.
Tracer:
Head to the south-most house in Baroque and talk to the woman there, to learn
that her husband is missing in the Sharp Mts. Head to the 2nd Point, and
follow the right fork to find the man being attacked by a giant rat. After
defeating it, take the man home, where you'll be rewarded with Score Piece 31.
On a 3rd playthrough(or any after), you will be rewarded with the Peace
Earring instead.
