"A great games for batman fans and just about everyone else"
In Batman Arkham Asylum batman has many problems to deal with. All of his problems start when The Joker made a plan. His plan was to have Batman bring him to the Asylum and then break free. After he is free, he releases all of his goons that were imprisoned at the asylum. Batman is the only hope that the asylum and Gotham City have before The Joker takes total control.
In this story you must play as batman and stop several of his enemies. Some of these enemies include Poison Ivy, The Joker, Harley Quin, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, the Riddler and Bane. They added a new story about jokers plan to take over Gotham. The game has a perfect atmosphere that fits with the comics. This has a pretty dark and twisted atmosphere. The story in this game is great if you are a Batman fan.
Game Play: 9/10
The game play in this game is very great. Sometimes you have direct encounters with the enemies but other times you use stealth tactics to take out the enemies without being seen. For the direct encounters you usually face thugs with baseball bats, cattle prods, knifes or their bare hands for weapons. When you fight these thugs you try to build up a combo. A combo stops when an enemy hits you. Every time you finish of a whole pack of thugs you always get an awesome moment where batman slowly K.Os the last enemy in slow motion. For the stealth encounters Batman uses his special array of gadgets to slowly knock out his enemies 1 by 1. Some of the weapons/gadgets include sonic, remote control, triple, double and regular batarangs, bat claws, explosive gel and a grapple gun. You use these weapons in a variety of ways to defeat your foes. Another cool way to defeat the foes is to attack them silently from behind. The farther you get into the game, the more difficult stealth parts get. In the game you can unlock upgrades. You can choose from more durable and damage proof suits, new gadgets/weapons, improved versions of the gadgets you start off with and better combo powers. The game also has something called Challenge maps where you try to get 3 stars (the highest ranking for challenge mode) and to place high in the leader boards. These challenge modes have combo challenges and time challenges. For the combo challenges you try to rack up the highest combo so you can get more points. For the Time challenges you compete for the lowest time. To earn stars on the Time challenges you must follow instructions on the order that you defeat your enemies, the certain gadgets you use, and what certain tactics you use. There is also one other feature that is called the Riddlers Challenge. The challenge is a set of a lot of riddles that batman must solve to stop The Riddler from committing a crime in Gotham. The game play in this game has a lot to offer.
The Graphics in this game are very good. The character models are very good. Arkham Asylum feels real. The graphics make the whole atmosphere of the game a lot better. These are not the best graphics but they are still very good.
The one thing that makes the sounds of this game so great is the voice acting. The voice acting was done by some of Batman's past voice actors and everything sounds great. Joker is always making broadcasts to the guards and to Batman. Most of these broadcasts are hilarious and will make you laugh every time you hear them. The music in the game is pretty good but, what makes the sounds so great is the voice acting. This game has great audio.
