How do you change your "Avatar" on the King of the Hill mode online?

You know, the little guy you play as (which is usually Scoprion) as an audience member before you fight or after you lose a fight.

How do you change him into another character like Cyrax or Smoke and so on?

Once you go to the Main Menu screen of the online menu, at the very bottom of the menu, there is a selection titled "Change Your King Of The Hill Avatar" and there will be most of the MK9 characters available for selection.
