Terminology

  • Ougi = Ultimate Justu
  • KnJ = Kawarimi no Jutsu (Substitution)
  • M = Melee Button
  • R = Ranged Button
  • Throw/Grab = Guard+M
  • Chakra Shuriken = Chakra Loaded Ranged Attack
  • Mash = Pressing a button rapidly.
  • Turbo = Turbo Controller. A type of controller that allows the user to mash a button at an inhuman speed.
  • Spamming = Using a move repetively.
  • Rushing/Rushdown = Refers to playing in a aggressive style that includes Chakra Dashing and using Dash jutsu a lot.
  • Turtling = Refers to playing in a conservative style that is almost exclusively defensive.

Tips

  1. Switch your support and guard buttons. No matter what way you do it, mash or no mash, having guard as L1/R1 makes substituting much easier.
  2. Don't abuse your chakra dash unless you're trying to do a specific gimmick. It might work at low level play and on the CPU but as you progress through the ranks, chakra dashing is a high risk, low reward action. Emphasis on high risk if you're facing Shikamaru or any person with a non-projectile ougi. Many characters have ninja movement (press X twice) that are safer means of movement such as Minato's teleport or Orochimaru's slither.
  3. Watch your enemy's chakra. The chakra levels of your enemy can tell a lot.
    1. If it's always at full then the opposing player is probably a newbie or a jutsu spammer.
    2. If it's restored just back at the amount needed for an Ougi then the opponent might be fishing for it.
    3. If it's low then your enemy is probably someone who likes to play rushdown. This means the enemy is ruthless but as a payoff, extremely vulnerable because no chakra means no substitution which is tantamount to melee abuse.
  4. Keep your chakra up. The more chakra you have the more you can substitute and thusly the safer you are.
  5. Don't charge chakra unnecessarily. There are many situations where it can be unsafe (ex. charging while on top the enemy) or unwise (ex. enemy is vulnerable).
  6. Most ultimate jutsu can intercept rushdown players as well as some grabs so instead of blocking, use it!
  7. Instead of trying to KnJ every attack in a melee combo, just wait and time it for one. Doing the former will more often than not fail, it's better to take a few hits and succeed at KnJ than take a risk and perhaps fail to KnJ at all.
  8. Block Team Ultimates. Team Ultimates have a huge radius and amazing tracking which means it's impossible to dodge unless you're battling on a large map like Site of Planetary Devastation and you're on other sides of the map.
  9. When there are Chakra Balls on the field, charge, even if you don't have to. Chakra Balls accelerate charging speed a lot. Additionally, if you seize them before the enemy you can prevent them from getting a steady footing on the flow of battle.
  10. Shuriken can be used to interrupt certain jutsu or even certain combos too which can shut down characters that depend on spamming jutsu.
  11. Capitalize on enemies that are knocked down. This can include, but not limited to, two things:
    1. Knocked down characters don't have many options compared to standing characters. Many times, those enemies will try to use a dash jutsu to knock you away from them which is largely punishable.
    2. You can throw shuriken or projectile battle items at fallen enemies to add additional damage.
  12. Blocking in the air is often safer than on the ground.
  13. Use a tilt to interrupt a combo as you're blocking melee. Fast tilts (ex. Ino, Killer Bee) can interrupt characters even while you're blocking.
  14. Pick the character you like the most. You'll have much more motivation to get better with said character and despite the fact that some characters are rated higher than others, it's always possible to make a bad character into a good one.

Requests

  • 04 - Hide-And-Seek Match: Head to the area with the Leaf Village Cafeteria. He's near the save point.
  • 05 - Hide-And-Seek Revenge: You'll find Konohamaru in the same area as the Item Shop just to the right (your right) of Tenten. Sai's in plain view near the Leaf Village Cafeteria. Shino on the other hand is hiding behind the left gate door of the Hidden Leaf Village.
  • 15 - Make Out Code: You'll need to visit all of these locations in order:
  1. The Hokage's Mansion's Roof. Check the Lower Right Pillar.
  2. The area with the Amaguriama. It's right near the left counter.
  3. Entrance to the message station.
  4. Training Field.
  • 21 - Hunt for Favorite Pen: Head towards the Training Field. You should find an area with a bunch of openly investigable spots--search all of them. The last spot will be the pen. For the subsequent option, pick any and then pick "Take to the Item Shop". Head over there and you'll be asked to find materials to fix the pen. To find the Well-Made Pen Shaft, go to the Message Station. You'll find the Well-Made Pen Nib right next to Sai. Head back to the Item Shop to finish up the request.
  • 24 - Promised Flower: Midori is in the path to the Uchiha Hideout.
  • 25 - Karenbara: Go to the area right before the Northern Hideout to find the Karenbara.
  • 26 - Ten Trials: To unlock, finish the cursed doll quest. After that, remove Tsunade from your party then go back to where the cursed doll master was and talk to Gen there. To beat all the trails easily, I recommend using Sai and spamming his ougi. You can exit and enter out of the area to unlock the subsequent trials.

Exchanging Letters

While you're in post game, you can unlock the letter exchanging system by going to the Message Station and doing Request #14. To view these events you must max out each one of the participant's hearts. Characters

Note this: when I give so-and-so a rating it's an evaluation of the metagame of the characters and an analysis of their traits, objectively. Skills and preference often trump all; highly skilled players can make many lowly rated characters very good (ex. Karin, Temari, Orochimaru). By the same token, very inexperienced players can make many highly rated characters become horrible (ex. Itachi, Minato).

Awakening

Transformation. A severely toned down version of Naruto's (SM/H) awakening.

Support

[1/5] A mid distance dash support and slow start up. Very slow moving to boot.

Overall Rating

[4/5] Naruto's base combo is pretty fast and hard to KnJ. His tilt is essentially a ranged combo but has the severe disadvantage of being obvious. Rasengan is a good attack to cancel a combo with. All of his jutsus are dash attacks and have less tracking and more startup than his Sage Mode/Hokage counterpart.

Tactics

  • 50-hit combo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2cJFEPmhqs
  • Forget using his air combo near an area boundary because it will often miss due to his hitbox conflicting with the boundary.

Character Associations

  • Support is similar to Jiraiya's and Minato's.
  • "Weaker" version of Naruto (SM/H).
  • Recommended support(s): Attack type supports
  • Any Konoha 11 -- Leaf Peers

Battle Items

  • ^: Journal (Attack Up)
  • V: Attack Up Tablet
  • <: Defense Down Tag
  • >: Bomb Ball

Awakening

Transformation. Chakra Gun Volley is hands down the best projectile attack. Speed, tracking, amount, chip damage--it carries all of these traits in spades. His ground combo can't be countered easily as Naruto lifts himself into the air while doing it so it's pretty safe. There's one payoff for this trait and it's that in the case he guard breaks the enemy during it, it will miss.

Support

[3/5] Superbly fast, inferior tracking compared to other dash supports. It isn't very special at all, heck, it's pretty much a [1/5] but the Double Fuma Shuriken Naruto has make him a very valuable support should you use him as a Balanced type.

Overall Rating

[5/5] A faster, stronger Naruto with a nearly-instant Rasengan with little cool down. This character has one of the best chakra shuriken in the game because of it's superior tracking over all projectiles and it's high priority. SM/H Naruto has an inferior set of battle items though. There's no difference between Sage Mode and Hokage Costume aside from looks.

Tactics

  • When a good chip support is hacking away at the enemy defense, use Sage Art: Frog Call at the same time to break down their guard.

Character Associations

  • Support is similar to Jiraiya's and Minato's.
  • "Stronger" version of Naruto (NTR/RS).
  • A good support when paired up with Konan's.
  • Recommended support(s): Konan (balanced) and/or one attack type.

  • Ougi: Kirin or Chidori True Spear

Battle Items

  • ^: Cursed Mark (Attack Up)
  • V: Movement Up Tablet
  • <: Movement Down Tag
  • >: Kunai Rain

Awakening

Transformation. He gains a projectile which is a superior version of Kakazu's normal. It's a chakra shuriken so it's extremely extremely cost efficient so there's no reason it shouldn't be used. Black Chidori can be great but hard to hit with if the user is far away or if the opponent is diligent.

Support

[4/5] Giant projectile only slightly weaker than his brother's

Overall Rating

[5/5 (Kirin), 4/5 (CTS)] Sasuke's one of the fastest characters and some of his combos are hard to punish. Even if they are KnJ'd they're hard to cut without a long distance move because he moves a good distance horizontally. His ranged moves on the other hand are extremely dangerous because while a flurry of projectiles is great pressure, he's really vulnerable to dash jutsu. All of his jutsu are superb, his normal has a giant area of effect and his hold normal nearly never misses if the enemy is in optimal range. Tilt is pretty useless because of it's range and recovery time. Kirin grinds at the enemy defense and hits three times--vastly superior to CTS and Akatsuki Sasuke.

Character Associations

  • Support is similar to Itachi's. Slower start up but faster moving.
  • "Weaker" version of Sasuke (Taka).
  • Recommended support(s) (for Kirin): Chiyo, Hidan, and/or Karin
  • Any Konoha 11 -- Leaf Peers

    • <+M/>+M, M, M: Moonlight
    • V+M, M, M, M: Chidori: Chakra Blade

Ranged

  • Shuriken: Shuriken
  • Chakra Shuriken: Chakra Shuriken (Lightning Sword Transformation)

Jutsu

  • Normal: Chidori
  • Hold Normal: Chidori Blade
  • Ougi: Amaterasu

Battle Items

  • ^: Akatsuki Robe (Defense Up)
  • V: Movement Up Tablet
  • <: Movement Down Tag
  • >: Kunai Rain

Awakening

Chidori changes into Amaterasu. Amaterasu will follow and catch up to the enemy no matter how far they are. Sasuke can launch multiple ones like his brother but not in rapid succession.

Support

[5/5] A great dash support. Unlike other ones that have their merits in speed, Sasuke's specialty is great tracking.

Overall Rating

[4/5] Taka Sasuke otherwise known as Akatsuki Sasuke. His melee and ranged combos isn't much of a change from his Kirin/CTS self but he has a vastly superior tilt than before. His throw and normals are arguably better.

Character Associations

  • Support is similar to Killer Bee's.
  • "Stronger" version of Sasuke (CTS/Kirin).
  • Any Konoha 11 -- Leaf Peers
  • Orochimaru / Kabuto / Sasuke / Karin / Jugo / Suigetsu -- Orochimaru's Gang

  • Throw: Windmill Throw

Ranged

  • Shuriken: Shuriken
  • Chakra Shuriken: Chakra Shuriken

Jutsu

  • Normal: Cherry Blossom Clash
  • Midair Normal: Cherry Blossom Clash (Air)
  • Ougi: Full Blossom: Cherry Blossom Clash

Battle Items

  • ^: Popsicle (Remove Negative Status Effects)
  • V: Power Mochi (Guard Break Up)
  • <: Defense Down Tag
  • >: Paper Bomb

Awakening

Attack Boost. Much higher attack boost than everyone else. It takes down half of the total life bar with just a single melee combo!

Support

[4/5] Pretty much impossible to escape if you're in range (which is pretty short) but if not, it's useless. Throws the enemy into the air, allowing for extended combos.

Overall Rating

[3/5] A lot of people like to undermine Sakura because of her status in the show but in NSUNS2, she's a hidden gem. Sakura's a character whose fighting style focuses on providing a relentless assault. The majority of her moveset is centered around keeping on the enemy's tail such as Cherry Blossom Clash catching jumping enemies or her tilt catching running foes. Her Ougi is unusual as a dash move because unlike orthodox variations, it can't intercept rushers and is extremely situational. The aerial Cherry Blossom Clash is faster and has better range. She would no doubt be a [5/5] it weren't for the fact that using shurikens against her shuts Cherry Blossom Clash so quickly if the player doesn't use good timing.

Tactics

  • Her jutsu work extremely well at ripping through people spamming projectiles. Cherry Blossom Clash is useful at close range and Full Blossom: Cherry Blossom Clash is the second coming of Rolling Thunder--it can attack people well across the entire map!
  • Learn to press the melee button just as Charging Straight is about to end to maximize pressure and damage. If the enemy is blocking it then you'll have to press the melee button before you slide off the enemy because it'll be unsafe.
  • Even though it doesn't look like it, Charging Straight is a bit of a surprise move like Guy's and Killer Bee's normal. Use it to catch people off guard but sparingly.

Character Associations

  • Similar to Tsunade.
  • A good support when paired up with Tsunade's.
  • Any Konoha 11 -- Leaf Peers
  • Any Konoha 11 Except Naruto and Neji -- Leaf Chunin
  • Naruto / Sakura / Kakashi / Taka Sasuke / Sasuke -- Team Seven
  • Naruto / Sakura / Sai / Yamato -- New Team Kakashi
  • Sakura / Tsunade -- Monster Strength
  • Sakura / Ino -- Rivals In Love
  • Sakura / Ino / Karin -- Aiming For Sasuke
  • Sakura / Chiyo -- Powerful Tag Team

Battle Items

  • ^: Ink (Attack Up)
  • V: Defense Up Tablet
  • <: Movement Down Tag
  • >: Kunai Rain

Awakening

Attack Boost.

Support

[1/5] Decent tracking but low damage.

Overall Rating

[4/5] You can't help but wonder why Sai is a melee-type in this game. It can easily be said that his projectiles are much more prominent than his melee attacks. His chakra Shuriken rival's Gaara's and his normal jutsu has high priority due to it being a series of three projectiles. His ougi has one of the largest radiuses of all dash jutsu and his throw is great albeit has a bit of a start up time. "Melee" combos are too long and easy to KnJ but have a large damage output.

Tactics

  • Sai is extremely compatible with Attack types because his throw can catch on knockback and launch them away--making a near-infinite combo.

Character Associations

  • Similar to Gaara.
  • Recommended support(s): Any Attack type supports (see Tactics).
  • Naruto / Sakura / Sai / Yamato -- New Team Kakashi
  • Sai / Taka Sasuke / Sasuke -- All Boys
  • Yamato / Kakashi / Naruto -- New Jutsu Development Team

    • V+M, M, M: Lightning Bl.: Flying Electricity
  • M, M, M, M, M in midair: Sparrow Drop
  • Tilt+M, M, M, M: Leg Sweep
  • Throw: Corner Slash

Ranged

  • Shuriken: Shuriken
  • Chakra Shuriken: Chakra Senbon

Jutsu

  • Normal: Lightning Blade
  • Hold Normal: Lightning Beast Running Jutsu
  • Ougi: Kamui

Battle Items

  • ^: Make Out Paradise (Chakra)
  • V: Movement Up Tablet
  • <: Attack Down Tag
  • >: Kunai Rain

Awakening

Attack Boost.

Support

[1/5] Even slower than Naruto's (NTR/RS) support

Overall Rating

[4/5] He has a wide variety of jutsu for any situation and breaks guards easily when played right. All of his jutsu are pretty fast and his ougi can hit often when used in certain situations. Kakashi's combos are easy to KnJ and his throw might possibly be one of the worst in the game simply because of it's horrid range.

Tactics

  • Lightning Blade should be used for knockback, to chase enemies, or to maximize damage like after a KnJ.
  • Lightning Beast Running Jutsu should be used at long distances for chip and pressure.
  • Kamui is a perfect tool to counter projectile spammers (especially the fireball users). It can also catch people who are caught in supports (see Recommended Supports).

Character Associations

  • Recommended support(s): Temari, Shikamaru (balanced), Konan, Chiyo, Hidan, and/or Karin
  • Naruto / Sakura / Kakashi / Taka Sasuke / Sasuke -- Team Seven
  • Neji / Asuma / Kakashi / Yamato / Guy -- Leaf Jonin
  • Kakashi / Minato -- Kanabi Bridge Engineers

    • ^+M, M, M, M: Shadow Stitching Jutsu: Knight
    • <+M/>+M, M, M: Shadow Stitching Jutsu: Rook

  • Throw: Shadow Stitching Jutsu Promotion

Ranged

  • Shuriken: Shuriken
  • Chakra Shuriken: Paper Bomb

Jutsu

  • Normal: Shadow Stitching Jutsu
  • Ougi: Shadow Pull Jutsu

Battle Items

  • ^: Crushed Root (Chakra)
  • V: Defense Up Tablet
  • <: Movement Down Tag
  • >: Kunai Rain

Awakening

Shadow Stitching Jutsu changes into Shadow Pinning Jutsu. Tilt does more hits. Shadow Pinning Jutsu comes out a lot faster than it's counterpart not to mention it has a better horizontal and vertical hitbox.

Support

[5/5] Shikamaru's support has a huge hitbox, chips well, and stalls the enemy but it doesn't mean anything because if the enemy is too far or too close, the move will end up not connecting correctly. The sole reason that Shikamaru is such a great support is that his Chakra Shuriken during Support Drive (if he is used as a Balanced type support) is exactly the same as his playable version: the best.

Overall Rating

[5/5] Shikamaru is pretty good technical character especially with each one of his moves having a specific role. Calculating players will enjoy using all of his varied tools according to the situation. His disadvantages lie in his longwinded melee combos and his unsafe jutsus. This isn't usually a problem as long as the player isn't throwing out random moves.

Tactics

  • Tags are easy for initiating knock back so be sure to always have at least one attack support.
  • Shadow Stitching Jutsu is a great tool to break guards. It can also be mixed into his melee combos to make them shorter.
  • If you don't have enough chakra for your Ougi and the enemy is charging at you, Shadow Stitching Jutsu is an acceptable alternative.
  • All of Shikamaru's attacks can strike people on knock back. Take advantage of this fact.

Character Associations

  • Recommended support(s): Ino+Choji (at least 1 attack) or Tenten+Tobi (at least 1 attack)
  • Any Konoha 11 -- Leaf Peers
  • Any Konoha 11 Except Naruto and Neji -- Leaf Chunin
  • Shikamaru / Asuma -- Inherited Will
  • Shikamaru / Ino / Choji / Asuma -- Team Asuma
  • Shikamaru / Ino / Choji -- Ino - Shika - Cho
  • Shikamaru / Temari -- Chunin Exam Supervisors

Melee Combo

  • M, M:

[5/5] Large radius, fast moving, great pressure. Aerial version doesn't travel far but comes out extremely fast and initiates knockback immediately. The start up time actually adds to his already great pressure.

Overall Rating

[4/5] He's pretty slow but he has a good tilt that does great chip damage. His combos are extremely good because not only are they short, they have many grappling parts to it in which you can't KnJ at all. Both of jutsu have lots of invincibility frames at the end which make them extremely safe to use. Normal is a fast dash attack that starts at the beginning like Kabuto's (see Support for aerial version). Ougi is one of the worst protective ougis though.

Support

[4/5] Comes out pretty fast and has high chip damage. Virtually zero tracking though but it doesn't really matter due to it's speed. She can poison enemies when she's a Balanced Support which is nice for extra pressure.

Overall Rating

[3/5] Fast projectile jutsu that can push otherwise persistent enemies off her. Ougi functions as a dodge and can henceforth counter everything but projectile jutsu. Has the ability to poison opponents which is great psychological pressure. Melee combos are swift and hard to KnJ for some. Her throw has it's pros and cons--on one hand it has great range, goes through puppet defenses and comes out pretty fast but it has the most cool down time out of all throws. She generally fails hard against rushdown opponents if she can't use Detonating Flower fast enough which usually depletes her chakra very fast.

Support

[2/5] Only good if it hits--if that makes any sense. Short range, large radius.

Overall Rating

[3/5] Asuma has one of the best tilts--fast, short, and large chip damage. His combos are hard to KnJ for non-mashers but easy for mashers which is probably his greatest flaw. His ougi has a slow start up so it's hard to use. His throw is a little below average and his chakra shuriken is pretty fast.

Tactics

  • Use, Flying Swallow: Trunk Slash at your own risk; in certain unforeseen circumstances, it will not connect.

Teleportation. This is where he shines. Teleportation allows him to get behind enemies he usually can't what with his very short range style.

Support

[1/5] It's so hard to land this that it's virtually useless.

Overall Rating

[1/5] He hits hard and all of his moves are hard to KnJ (with the exception of the last hit of his air combo) but are incredibly long which makes the previous statement pointless. Using his jutsus alone is both dangerous and impractical. Despite looks, his throw is easily interrupted because it's not truly invulnerable at all.

Chakra Drain. While in his awakening, he becomes a master of guard breaking especially with the fact that he inhibits KnJ, disarms spammers and makes the enemy waste time charging back up their chakra.

Support

[4/5] One of the best defense supports, horrible if used otherwise. Hugest horizontal diameter out of all the defense supports.

Overall Rating

[3/5] His normal is great for breaking guards but sadly easy to KnJ at the end. He's fast, but overall he has an extremely short reach which makes it hard to even attack enemies in the first place.

Tactics

[3/5] It can punish rushing enemies and inhibit movement up close but is not very useful at long distances.

Overall Rating

[3/5] A projectile character that throws out a great number of fast projectiles. Chakra Shuriken isn't as good as the other projectile characters. The best way to describe the bulk of her characteristics is that she can be incredibly useless or incredibly useful depending on how you use her throw, ougi, jutsu, et cetera.

Support

[4/5] Unlike most supports, his support version of his attack is actually worser than his normal version but still awesome nonetheless. A great support if used sparringly because while it comes out fast and unexpectedly, using it too much will pretty much flash some lights.

Overall Rating

[4/5] He's similar to Lee however overall has a melee game that is harder to KnJ which is a massive improvement. Dynamic Entry is in fact one of the fastest dash moves which lets Guy punish with ease. His throw and battle items are inferior to his pupil's however.

Support

[5/5] Has the largest attack radius than any of the dash supports and fast to boot. It has a larger hitbox than it looks so it can sometimes catch enemies in the air.

Overall Rating

[5/5] His dash moves have blurring speed and some of the safest recoveries in the entire game. They also have a much larger attack area than any other dash moves especially in the case that Kiba and Akamaru are separated because they will both attack from two fronts. His combos are, not to mention, quite unorthodox enough to flay off KnJs.

Awakening

Chakra Drain. Vastly superior to the other awakenings of other ranged characters.

Support

[5/5] Slow moving projectile means that the enemy will probably forget about it after it's launched. It'll hit at the most unexpected times and create great pressure if the opponent happens to see it anyway. It's one of the most powerful supports in the game, hits a lot, and does great chip damage. It would be a crying shame if he were not used as a Balanced Support.

Overall Rating

[4/5] Even though Shino's a projectile fighter, his ranged combos don't reach as far as the others. His projectiles are pretty slow too which is a double edged sword. On one hand, they come out deceptively (especially because they're black) and they add amazing pressure but on the other hand, they're really easy to dodge if used defensively or passively. Unlike all of the other projectile characters (and even most of the melee characters), he has probably the fastest and shortest melee in the game which means he can dish out great damage safely if needed. His grab is also supremely swift compared to other characters. One of his undeniable glaring flaws is his large jutsu start ups. His normal, while awesome for pressure, has this trait and his ougi can't intercept rushers like other ougis unless you time it meticulously.

Tactics

  • Make no mistake; he is not like the other projectile fighters. If you're close, don't run away so you can do your projectile combos. Get all up in the opponent's face with his lightning fast melee, especially taking advantage of his aerial moves.
  • Make sure his normal is always out to create pressure.
  • A time when you can send out Hidden Jutsu: Beetle Sphere safely is immediately after you have knocked down the enemy and you are standing on top of him/her. Another is to send out a support to buy you time.
  • His throw can intercept chakra dashers albeit with strict timing.

Character Associations

  • Similar to Tenten, Temari, and Deidara.

Awakening

Transformation. Only serves to inhibit Gaara. His melee is even slower and more predictable making it nearly impossible to hit anyone.

Support

[4/5] A very good support that can be used subtly to sneak in a hit like Shino's. His rocket-like Chakra Shuriken when he is used as a Balanced Support are devastating.

Overall Rating

[1/5] A character meant to be played defensively. Because of this, he has more guard levels than other characters and he has the worst ninja movement in the game (excluding chakra dash) but his chakra shuriken is godly: fast with a lot of tracking which is probably his only real redeeming quality. His jutsu and combos are slow.

Tactics

  • While his Awakening actually makes him worse, it's actually a huge advantage if the opponent activates a large transformation awakening (ex. Deidara's). They have huge hitboxes which make Gaara's melee much more effective.
  • His throw can catch dashers like protective Ougis. The advantage is that his throw is safer, longer than most, and doesn't cost any Chakra. The disadvantage is that it can't intercept dash jutsu.

Awakening

Transformation. Gains attacks that have the best tracking in the game, capable of making 360s multiple times.

Support

[1/5] It launches enemies up but it has horrible tracking.

Overall Rating

[2/5] It's very hard to play her if the opponent isn't on the extreme ends of the spectrum: ruthless or conserved. Her projectiles don't reach as far as they should and they're quite weak not to mention obvious. Additionally her Chakra Shuriken and Jutsu leave her pretty vulnerable. She launches more projectiles at once than other characters so she can provide rushdown in the case she's in range. Melee and throw are atrociously horrible but that's fine as her ranged attacks are great up close.

[1/5] Good for punishing side steppers and can poison enemies but otherwise useless. Lack of variable uses, lack of range, lack of subtleness. He's pretty great as a Defense type support though because his two puppets provide even more layers of defense.

Overall Rating

[2/5] Predictable attacks as well as very position dependant attacks (relative to the user) make him a very odd puppet master (arguably the worst). At least he IS one, that is, he has safer attacks than most and he has a good throw.

Character Associations

  • Similar to Sasori and Chiyo.
  • Support is similar to Tenten's and Tobi's. All of them inhibit movement.

  • Recommended support(s): Neji, Hinata, and/or Pain
  • Gaara / Kankuro / Temari -- The Sand Siblings
  • Sasori / Kankuro / Chiyo -- Puppet Masters

Awakening

Transformation.

Mark Sauls: "I think Chiyo's Awakening is one of the (if not THE) best in the game. Her jutsu in Awakening is sooo cheap, combined with her difficult to substitute melee moves; I hardly ever lose a match if I get off her Awakening with a decent amount of health left."
