Burnout Legends
Review by JoeDaShow_v5
"What A Rush!"
Introduction : The Burnout series has always been a very fun racing series but it wasn't until Burnout 3 that it realized its full potential. It was everything a racing game should be. It was like a huge rush of adrenaline, the speed, the sounds, and of course the crashes. I was very excited when I heard that Burnout Legends was coming to the PSP, hearing things that it's just as fun and exciting as the console version. And they were right. This game is the best portable racing game I have EVER played, and I've played my share of portables.
Gameplay : The gameplay in Burnout Legends is simply a blast. As soon as you pick it up, it's like you are sucked into another world of racing madness. You will find yourself hooked to this game and you will not want to put it down. The difficulty of this game is challenging but not extremely challenging. One annoying thing about the gameplay is the Rubberband AI, but I'll let it slide. The controls in this game are also done well and I couldn't be more comfortable with them.
Graphics/Sound : The graphics in this game are very nice. The cars are detailed very well for a portable, the stages are designed very well, and the speed is simply ASTONISHING. It looks almost identical to the console version, well maybe not exactly, but very close to it.
The sound in this game is great. You actually feel you are in the middle of a real race. The sounds of the cars whizzing by, the crash sounds, and everything else sounds very real to life. The soundtrack is decent, not the best, just decent. One drawback in this game is that Stryker, the DJ from Burnout 3, is not in the game.
Replay Value: : The replay value in this game is very good. I found myself playing this nonstop. The story mode keeps you busy for a long while and it doesn't get boring. You will get frustrated from Burning Laps though, as some are very very difficult.
Final Recommendation: : If you are a big fan of the Burnout series as I am, and you've always wanted to play it wherever you go, this is your type of game. This is easily the best racer on the PSP and I guess you can say the best portable racer I have ever played. This game is definitely worth a buy, and I'm glad I did.
