How do I find the ape in forest of spirits?

Can someone please tell me how to find the ape who stole the candle stick in the forest of spirits? I looked all over that damn forest, and I still can't find the dumb thing!!!! Can someone please help me out with this? Thanks

Find the elf who says "it's where the ape lives" it's somewhere in the middle of the map. in that area build up ice blocks and use them to leap to the upper branches. the ape is on the highest branch
