Review by AegisDawn

"A solid and fun game that will keep any gamer's attention."

This game is possibly my favorite on the PSP, I've beaten every part and did an entire Solo Ramza Save, which was a fun experience. The game is great in all levels, and I'll tell you why.

GAMEPLAY:

The gameplay is like every strategy game, with a few additions. You play through the game with a huge cast of characters, but only so many to choose in every stage. You use a turn-based system, with extra abilities such as summons, different types of area attacks, and even attacks that target an enemy or enemies based on their level, height, experience, etc. It isn't really a fast paced game, but it does require you to think, so don't go into the game expecting to be able to just use your strongest guys to take all the hits as well as deal them all. It won't work.

Gameplay Score: 5/5. It is a nice system, with no flaws whatsoever.

GRAPHICS:

The graphics don't make the game, although they don't hurt here. The nice 3D environment and characters is a nice touch and makes each map navigable.

Graphics Score: 5/5. Not much to say here. They are good, clean graphics that you'll be surprised came from a handheld.

SOUND:

The voice overs are fantastic. I love the entire game, but the cut scenes where the characters spoke were wonderful. I was surprised that my PSP could shoot out such flawless sound that isn't impossible to hear. Also, sound effects during battles could have been better, but it isn't anything to get fussy about.

Sound Score: 4.5/5. Good quality sound and voice overs, although sound effects in battles could have been better.

REPLAY VALUE:

Like I said in the beginning, I've beaten this game twice, unlocking everything both times. There are plenty of things to unlock after the game, and another level at the end which will have you playing for hours because of it's difficulty. I could play this game yet again, and I probably would if I ever had the time.

Replay Value Score: 5/5. Plenty of things to do afterwards, although online play would have been nice. You'll have over 80 hours docked on your save files if you did as much as I did, without rushing through.

DIFFICULTY:

(Not providing a description. 1 being easy, 15 being impossible to beat.)

Game Average Difficulty: 9.8

Overall:

10/10. Just a perfect game, there is nothing more they could have done to improve the game's fun factor, except add online play, but again, nothing to get fussy about. My advice: rent the game to see if it's for you, I'd tell you it is in a heartbeat, but I'll let you decide on your own.
