Why is it that my prince of persia forgotten sands won't work??

Why is it that my prince of persia forgotten sands won't work even if my custom firmware is GEN-D3

You need to upgrade the PSP software to 6.20.

You need to download the patched version of the game

No need to patch the game, you just need additional files from the seplugin folder to make it work, look for it. google is your friend
