                                INTRODUCTION
                               --------------
Finally King Of Fighters 97 is out in Singapore on 21/7/1997 , this is
their fourth carnation of the KOF series . The game just gets better 
and better , this time round it has more stories , more characters and
more new moves . This is one of SNK best fighting game concept yet ...
however some of the characters from KOF 96 have been taken out eg. 
Mature , Vice , Kasumi Todo , 96 boss team and Goenitz . However Billy
Kane from KOF 95 has made his way back to 97 but whether he is as good
as in 95 only time can tell . The rest of the teams are almost the same
except with a additional of a few new ones , like the KOF 97 Special
Team with Blue Mary , Ryuji Yamazaki and Billy Kane in it and Last but 
not least is The New Faces Team consisting of new characters like Chris
, Nanakase Yashiro and Shermie . This time there are also Solo Entrees.
Iori Yagami and Kyo's Disciple Shingo Yabuki are taking part as Solo 
Competitors . In order to spice up the game a little SNK introduced a 
new system to the game and that is the Advance Mode And Extra Mode ...
along with a few new and damagin DMs for some characters ... ALL i can 
say is that this is one of the best KOF series YET !!

                                 GAME SYSTEM
                               ---------------
 =============
  OBJECTIVES
 =============
 After inserting your token into the arcade machine and pressed the 
 start button you will be entittled to the character selecting screen .
 You will be asked to choose which mode you want to play , Advance Mode 
 or Extra Mode , read further to know more about the modes , then
 select 3 team members , if you chose to team edit you will not have 
 any endings when you defeated the last boss . There are two colours in
 each mode , you can choose the different colours by pressing A or D .
 If you hold the C button after selecting  your first character you
 will know about the relation between them . Eg. whether they will pass
 on their Power to the next character in the Advance Mode or whether 
 they will Assist attack . After the character selecting screen you 
 will be entitled to the screen asking you which character you want him
 /her to go first . Then the battle begins , you must try to kill your
 enemy's/cpu's teamate as many as possible , after winning every round
 your character's life will increase until your character is defeated .
 The game will be over when all 3 of the characters you selected are
 defeated . The same thing applies for the versus game .

 ASSIST ATTACK
 =============
 There are 3 different assist attack possibilities depending on the
 relationship between the helped and the helped one . The possibilities are
 as follows : 

 Often : The fighting character is helped inder the condition that ;
      1. There are a team mate who haven't been defeated yet .
      2. The fighting character is dizzy or being held .
      3. The team mate is in the screen .

 Normal : The possibility that the fighting character can be helped is
          when the condition are met in #1 and #2 
      4. ( Adding The Condition From Above ) The energy gauge of the 
         fighting one is less than his opponent .

 ADVANCE MODE 
 ============
 Adavance mode is actually the KOF 96 playstyle except that it has a 
 few new improvements. Here are the list of commands and options found
 in the Advance mode .

 @ Power Gauge Charge up when attack or hit
 @ Power Gauge can charge up to 3 meters , each crystal represents each

 @ Hop Backwards  : Bk,Bk
 @ Small Jump     : Tap diagonaly up or back 
 @ Medium Jump    : Rush then jump up or digaonal up 
 @ High Jump      : Tap down or diagonaly down then up or diagonaly up
 @ Roll           : Forward AB
 @ Roll Backwards : AB      
 @ Guard Cancel 1 : When you have a crystal , block and press AB

 Extra Mode is the combination of KOF 94 , 95 gameplay system , Players
 using this mode can dodge but cannot break normal slams , so here are

 During the last tournament , something unexplained happened and the 
 tournament was forced to be postphoned . However , it was still very
 successful . There were rumours that they were the acts of terrorists
 but it was calm down by a mysterious man . What was the aim and who 
 the mysterious man was , was unknown ... under a mysterious atmosphere 
 , it was all taken care of ... as the year 1997 approaches , other big
 companies and empires decided to oraganise this year's tournament ...
 and same as always , contestants from all over the world are allowed to
 take part in it and SO LET THE FIGHT BEGINS !!!

 who passed by him was the one who raided the dojo . Few days later ,

 a day of training discussed with Kensou and Chin on joining this year's
 KOF because she recieved a letter from a fan : " Hello Athena San , I am
 a fan of yours during the KOF 96 live tour . However I became sick and 
 was sent to the hospital , I am having a phobia of going outdoor . I have 
 not been to school then , a few months later , I saw a girl of my age 
 fighting in a tournament on TV . Later i learned that she was you ,Athena
 san . Your fight with perseverence and it gave me the courage , you 
 inspired me . I went to school again and worked hard in the Autmn Exam 
 and i finally graduated . Thank You very much , Athena San , you have giv
 en me the courage to move on . I wished you all the best . Therefore ,
 Athena decided to enter KOF 97 so as not to disappoint her fans !

 fighters ... Meanwhile at King's restaurant , King and Elizabeth are 
 watching the interview on TV . Suddenly Sally enter the restaurant and 
 passed a letter from Mai Shiranui to King . There was a ticket to Japan
 attached to the letter . Few days later King arrived in Japan to meet 
 Mai in a cafe , however King was actually thinking of not entering the 
 KOF 97 tournament because they werent ablt to locate Todo Kasumi and 
 Yuri Sakazaki are already representing the Sakazaki's Dojo and hence 
 King ask Mai why she had given her the air ticket to Japan but Mai ask
 the same question too , just then Chizuru appeared and explained that 
 she had sent them the letters using each other's name . She had prepare
 an air ticket for King's brother , Jan , too . Chizuru joined Mai and 
 King to enter Kof 97 .

 Billy Kane Vs Computer's Ralf . There is this strange bug when you are 
 using Billy Kane against Ralf , do a standing C and hit the computer or
 make the computer block it , after getting hit or blocked the attack 
 the comeputer will automaticaly do a Ralf Kick , I try it at my arcade
 and the CPU level is 4 , I think it is a strange bug but it works all
 the time ^_^ .

 Go to Kyo Kusanagi at the character selecting screen and Hold start and
 then press either A or D .

 I am not really sure about this rumour , I heard it from my friend , 
 some people from Japan claimed that you can use Orochi Leona and 
 Orochi Iori and the code for them was released but when i tried it ,
 it didnt work and we ask them why and they told us the timing must be
 very precise . Here is the code , go to Leona press start 5 times and
 press either A or D , Orochi Iori's code is go to Kyo press start and
 wait for 3 secs then go to Athena and press start for 2 secs and then
 go to Iori and Hold start and press either A or D , so far i have 
 tried it once but it didnt work . ( CONFIRMED )
