Once you get all the items and 23rd secret room, Watch the demo of the
game:I have just noticed something new!!
I've watched the Demo of SOM and it cycled through the demo 2 times,
THERE ARE 2 more secret rooms!!!!!!
One with the Sorceress in the City of despair jungle with mushrooms in
the background. I know I have not been there yet!
2nd, Two flying red dragons with Tel Avin and green dude boss that
saves ya comes off these dragons and fights the Demo CPU characters!!
Could this be what we all are missing???

Secret Rooms Locations:

(1) Lv 2: Walk up on jagged cliff leading to house, near start of
    the stage.

(2) Lv 5A: Walk up on jagged cliff leading to house (looks the same
    as on level 2), near start of the stage.
(3) Lv 5A: In first room #2 (above) walk through doorway.
(4) Lv 5A: At the end of the level, walk up (gap in fences).  Can
    be entered while fighting the ogres.

(5) Lv 5B: At very beginning of stage walk down, off of cliff where
    you start (enter this one after rooms #6-8 to find all rooms).
(6) Lv 5B: Near the start, jump down to a lower cliff.  Walk into
    the low cave entrance found there.
(7) Lv 5B: Above #6, push the large rock aside to reveal the entrance.
(8) Lv 5B: Further to the right, a visible entrance in a large plant.
(9) Lv 5B: After going through #5, or jumping down from ledge with
    #6, a glowing cave entrance.

(10)Lv 8B: If you go to Gnome Village, doorway to the pub.
(11)Lv 8B: In Gnome Village, doorway to item shop (must 1st visit
pub).

(12)Lv 9: While falling, land of second ledge (far left).  When asked
    questions, answer No, No, Yes.  You may now proceed to the right
    to enter the secret room with a red dragon.

(13)Lv10-1: Step on pressure plate to open doorway to room (leftmost).
(14)Lv10-1: Move armor onto one pressure plate, stand on the other,
    or have 2-players stand on each, to open doorway to room(middle).
(15)Lv10-1: Step on pressure plate to open doorway to room (leftmost).
(16)Lv10-1: In room #14, move two armors onto two plates, stand on the
    third, or have 2-players stand, plus one armor on each plate, to
    open doorway to room (leftmost).
(17)Lv10-1: In room #14, move two armors onto two plates, and have
    2 players stand on other two plates (cannot enter with only
    1-player--in 1P game, start a second player and control both),
    to open doorway to room (middle).
(18)Lv10-1: Same method as #16 (right most).

(19)Lv10-2: After killing Tel'Arin, enter visible doorway at start of
    second part of the stage.
(20)Lv10-2: After coming back out of #19, continue to right.  Walk
    up, into a window to enter.

(21)Lv10-4: After spiral tower-climbing section, a room will be
    visible, blocked by fire.  Walk all the way to the right of
    the stage, but don't exit (stop when screen won't scroll).
    When you return, the entrance will be clear.
(22)Lv10-4: To the right of #21, a room will be blocked by
    elecricity.  Same method to enter as #21.
(23)Lv10-4: To the right of #22, an outlined wall section is
    covered by flames, and guarded by gargoyles.  Walk above
    the flames, and press up to enter.

Okay, that's all of them.  Although it may be that the gnome stage
doorways don't count, and landing on all three ledges on stage 9
while falling counts instead (I really don't know for sure).  To get
to the ledges, while falling on stage 9, press left immediately to
get to the first.  Press left again when you continue falling to
get to the second.  Press right when you continue falling to get
to the third (and you cannot get to the third if you fight the
red dragon).

As per request by some via e-mail, here's where to find some of
the more obscure items.  Just for the record, I know that some
of these items can be found in other places, I just didn't go
through the trouble of listing every location for every item.

2-handed sword (1st row, item 4):  Can be bought at Gnome Village,
  by clicking on sword hanging on wall (keep clicking until you
  hear a sound, then it appears in the menu--costs 6k!).  It can
  also be found in the secret room in the window of stage 10-2, if
  the Fighter opens the chest blocked by flames.

Cursed Sword #1 (1st row, item 5): Found on first ledge while
  falling in stage 9.

Cursed Sword #2 (1st row, item 6): Found in a secret room in Lv5-B.

Dragon Slayer (2nd row, item 4): Must fight the red dragon in Lv 9.
  While fighting, it may drop a horn.  Pick up the horn, then when
  you visit a shop, click on the storekeeper until s/he gives you
  the sword (make sure you have a free inventory slot.  Will only
  be made for characters who can use swords).

Holy Avenger (2nd row, item 5): Must find Cursed Sword #2, then have
  the Cleric repeatedly attempt to pick it up.  After several tries,
  it will lose the curse.

Sword of Legend (2nd row, item 6): Must find Cursed Sword #1, then
  swing it repeatedly to uncurse it.  There are some tricks to
  avoid damage, but none of them work really effectively.  Just
  take your lumps and accept it (it's free play, so no biggie).

Battle Axe: Found in the 4 pressure plate door in 10-1 or window
  room in 10-2 if chest is opened by the Dwarf.

War Hammer: Buy in Gnome Village (costs 2500), or find it in
  window room in 10-2 if chest is opened by the Cleric.

Morning Star: Can be bought at Gnome Village by same method as
  above (costs 8k!).  Can also be found in 4 pressure plate door
  in 10-1 if chest is opened by the Cleric.

Staff of Striking (2nd staff listed): Same location as Staff of
  Elements, if chest is opened by the Cleric.  Dragon Horn
  becomes this if traded by Cleric.

Staff of Elements (3rd staff listed): Can be found on third ledge
  on stage 9 while falling if chest is opened by the Magic-User.

Staff of the Magi (1st in next row of staffs): Can be found in 4
  P-plate door in 10-1 if chest is opened by the MU.  The Dragon
  Horn will become this for the MU as well.

Staff of Wizardry (2nd in next row of staffs): Found in the
  window room in 10-2 if chest is opened by the MU.

Shield of Protection (2nd to last shield): Cleric can find on
  Lv 5B chest, or anyone can find in a chest in secret room
  on Lv10-4 (behind flames and gargoyles).

***Dragon Shield (last shield listed): Fight the black dragon in
  Lv 8A.  While fighting, it may drop some scales.  Pick them
  up, then visit a shopkeeper and click on him/her until you
  hear a sound.  Only shield-using characters will get this.

Battle Helm (1st hat listed): Play as Fighter or Dwarf, found
  in various chests, or enter your name as a single character
  in the 3rd column (or two from the 2nd, or may add any number
  of characters from the 1st column as well).

****Wizard's Hat (2nd hat listed): Same as above, play as M-U.

Thief's Hood (3rd hat listed): Same as above, play as Thief.

Circlet (4th hat listed): Same as above, play as Elf, or
  steal from Shadow Elves with Thief.

Cleric's Hat (5th hat listed): Same as above, play as Cleric.

Tiara (6th hat listed): The only place I remember finding this
  is by stealing from an ogre (to steal, repeatedly run into the
  creature with the Thief).

Boots of Levitation (Last boots listed): Fight the Beholder on
  Lv 5B.  He may drop an eye, which can be traded at a store for
  these boots.

Cloak of Displacement: Fight the Displacer Beast in stage 7.
  While fighting, it may drop a piece of hide.  Give to a
  shopkeeper to get the cloak.

Owlbear Egg (Gold): Steal from an owlbear with the Thief (run
  into it and it will drop something eventually).
