"Eidos seriously messed this game up."

Well this has got to be the worst game in the series. I’ve never played the Playstations version before but if it were this bad the series would have been gone forever. The game has no high points besides maybe the music and sound in this game. The graphics on this game are terible most of the things of choppy and all messed up. The only decent looking thing on the game is the rocks they seem to be in great detail. The levels are detailed and some of them look good. The games control is the worst, I hate it. Most of the jumping you do is quite stressful to you have to press the jump button then use the d-pad in the direction you want to go. The sound and music in this game is the only good part. Most of the sounds in this game are very detailed and sound great and the music in good to. The story is: Lara Croft, daughter or Lord Henshinghly Croft, was raised to be an aristocrat from birth. After attending finishing school at the age of 21, Lara’s marriage into wealth had seemed assured, but on her way home from a skiing trip her chartered plane had crashed deep in the hear of the Himalayas. The only survivor, Lara learned how to depend on her wits to stay alive in hostile conditions a world away from her sheltered upbringing. 2 weeks later when she walked into the villiage of Tokakeribly her experiences had had a profound effect on her. Unable to to stant the claustrophobic suffocating atmosphere of upp-class British societ, she realized that she was only truly alive when she was travelling alone. Over the 8 following years she acquired an intimate knowledge of ancient civilizations across the globe. Her family soon disowned their prodigal daughter, and she turned to writing to fun her trips. Famed for discovering several ancient sites of profound archaeological interest she made a name for herself by publishing travel books and detailed journals of her exploits. THE END. Well the story doesn’t seem to be the greatest and seems a little weak. Also I don’t see how the game deserves these:

GAMEPLAY **6**

The games control is very difficult and I hate it a lot. You have to walk forward and by pressing the d-pad up and then to move side to side you also have to press the d-pad to the left or right depending on this direction. Moving Lara is pretty tough and will take quite some time to learn. Jumping isn’t any easier to do. You have to press the jump button and then use the d-pad in the direction you want to go which sometimes makes you mess up majorily and can cost you a lot of lives. Theres a lot of jumps in this game and if you don’t know how to jump very good chances are you won’t make it and you could fall into a pit with wolfs, bears, and so on. Using your gun is the only simple thing. The game has auto lock so that’s simple. To get your gun out you press the C button and to fire it you press the B button. Swimming in this game is pretty simple to and provides no challenge.

SOUND / MUSIC **9**

The games sounds are very detailed from the sounds of bat, bears, wolves, aligators, raptors, and so on. its all there and it sounds great. The games sound is crisp clear and is easy to hear. The music in this game is good and sounds good. Some of the music may be spooky while other times it’s happy music (Mostly Spooky). This is one of the best parts of the game. The music and sounds are in great detail and sound great.

GAPHICS / LEVEL DESIGN **7**

Well the graphics in this game are far from good. Most of the objects are choppy and flash in and out. The graphics seem to lack in this game and need great improvement. The rocks in this game though go into great detail and look great. Lara is terrible looking shes kinda all boxy and messed up especially if you get a close up on her. The levels are neat looing but still are choppy. The levels are very detailed and are full of stuff. The levels are neat looking and to get through some of them may take some thought. They are really neat because if you don’t make a jump you’ll fall into a pit or something like that with wild animals in it which are really neat.

REPLAYABILITY **8**

The game may have 15 levels but most of them are very simple to beat. The game is easy and doesn’t take very long to beat. The game needs a 2 player mode where 2 people can play through the game with more enemies. The game has plenty of levels but most of them are easy to beat as long as you know what your doing. The game needs some work in this part of the game but overall doesn’t do to bad.

CHALLENGE **Medium**

The game isn’t really that hard the only thing you need is some good skills. Theres all kinds of puzzles to find out. The games controll along provides most of the challenge and it will probably take you some time to learn and master the control. The game is full of different enemies but theres hardly any anywhere you go. The game is challenging is some departments but in others the game seems to easy.

BUY OR RENT

Well I would suggest neither but it might be a good weekend title to rent. The game has its share of problems probably more that it needs. Read the review you decide.
