"Better watch the movies instead"
Rocky Balboa a.k.a. the Italian Stallion is selected to fight Apollo Creed for the Heavyweight Championship of the World. Now you must guide Rocky into being the greatest boxer ever! But is it that great of a game?
Well, there is no story in this game. Just fighting pretty much. But for those who do not know the story, well, watch the movie. First you fight Apollo Creed. If you defeat Creed, you go up against Clubber Lang(Mr.T in the movie). If you make it past him you rumble with Ivan Drago. There is only one rematch if you lose but you continue if you win. This game receives a 10 out of 10 for story. I'm a big Rocky fan.
For a Sega Master System, the control was pretty good. The fights were a tough, but it was fun to play. Before each fight there is a training round. For Apollo you must hit the punching bag 60 times to qualify and improve your strength. There are no rating so this doesn't help the situation much. For Lang you must hit the speed bag at a certain rate to qualify to improve your punching speed. For Drago you must hit Mickey's hands to improve your punching accuracy. This game receives a 8 out of 10 for gameplay because it is pretty fun.
This has to be one of the hardest games ever. Without cheats this will be very difficult to win the bout with whomever you are fighting. You may be able to beat Apollo and thats it. Keep training. You're gonna need it. This game receives a 10 out of 10 for difficulty.
I was utterly impressed by these graphics. This is a Master System game that looks like SNES really. The fights are pretty good and fun. This would be probably the only positive part of the game. This game receives a 8 out of 10 for graphics.
The sound is average for this game. It is not to shabby, but not too great in this area. The company could've done better here. This game receives a 5 out of 10 for sound.
*Sigh* if you ever beat the game you probably wouldn't want to play it again because it just isn't worth playing again. Unless you have lots of times on your hands because if you're not playing anything else you could play this once and not lose much time. This is one of the shortest games ever! If you're a Rocky fan than you might want to play it again a few times...maybe. This game receives a 1 out of 10 for replayability.
Buy or Rent?
I strongly suggest if you are a able to rent this, go ahead. If you are able to buy it for the same price as renting it, you can do that too. Do not buy this game for over $5-$10 for anyone, Rocky fans and regular gamers.
