Bugs Bunny: Rabbit Rampage
Review by ZeldaGuy
"The Waskilly Wabbit Stars in an Enjoyable Game."
To be perfectly honest, I wasn't expecting a good game at first with Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage. I gave it a rent to see if it was anything like the Looney Tunes show. To my pleasure, this is actually one of the premier platform games available on the Super Nintendo. It provides everything to deliver a solid platformer, and is above average on all accounts. When you take a look at this game, don't automatically think ''kid shows, I'm not interested.'' If you think that, than you will be missing out on one of the most fun games around. Don't let the childish looks fool you, this is a game for all ages to enjoy. Read on to see why Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage is worth playing today.
Graphics:10/10
Absolutely astounding graphics reside in this game. In some occasions, I could go as far as saying the graphics are better in the game than the actual show itself. You have whole cartoon feel all around you in this game. Actual characters from the Looney Tunes show make cameos throughout the game looking no different that their image on the popular show. The backgrounds are beautiful, the scenery is colorful, and it is sheer graphic masterpiece. Anyone who is a fan of the show or not will be very pleased at the games presentation. It's something to Looney Tunes fans will enjoy more than anyone.
Sound:9/10
The sound is also a very solid attribute to this game. Most of the music represents the atmosphere Bugs Bunny is in at that time. Western music for the saloon level, a Mexican type beat for the bull fight all fits in well in their respected levels. It's a beautiful fit and brings more life to the beautiful scenery. Even Bugs dishes out some familiar catch phrases such as ''What's up Doc?'' and others throughout the game. I think including his voice gave even more dominance to this games overall picture. You can also hear other voices of the Looney Tunes cast when listening very closely to your surroundings.
Gameplay:9/10
Another great part of this game is the gameplay. You control Bugs Bunny who is running around levels being drawn around him. The levels are full of danger in which Bugs must be careful. Many villains from the Looney Tunes show wait at the end of each level for a fun boss fight usually. The variety of this game is very strong. You go from a snow filled level, to a saloon, to a bull fight, and even in a Grimms Fairy Tale of Hanzel and Gretal. You will keep on playing just to see where you will end up next. Seeing cameos from your favorite characters is always fun too. Bugs has many hard obstacles in front of him such as enemies, cliffs, and hard to reach places. Your health meter is represented by a carrot which is also a very nice addition. I would have liked to have a little bit more control over Bugs, who can be somewhat hard to control sometimes. I have ran off cliffs by accident before which can be frustrating. The gameplay is very clever and addictive, and it something to look forward to each time through the game.
Story:7/10
Bugs Bunny has been drawn up, and is being placed in these different levels in which the illustrator in constructing. These levels contain many dangers in which Bugs must overcome to complete the level. The game has many different stages in it, so you get a feel for almost a different show each time. The sly, and clever things you must do in this game get more interesting with each turn. It's really fun, and you need to experience it for yourself.
Challenge:9/10
This game is a very tricky one indeed. People expecting a kiddy, breeze over game will be surprised on how difficult this game actually is. Many of the obstacles can be hard to get by, and your carrot meter can be taken down very quickly. A lot of the boss fights are extreme challenges too. Each one takes a lot of strategy, and hard work to overcome. The game itself is pretty long too. Considering you have no way to save it, you have to go through the game in one sit down. That can be a very hard thing to do with the challenge this game provides. The fun factor though, cancels out the challenge making it a very enjoyable experience.
Replay:10/10
You are guaranteed to come back more and more from this game. I never get sick of any levels in this game because they still seem fresh each time through. Seeing Looney Tunes characters in each level is fun, and is enough to get you to play through it again. I personally enjoy the boss fights because it has you pitted up against Looney Tune villains. Some of these include Elmer Fudd, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin Martian, and even the Tazmanian Devil. The game to me is an enjoyable experience each time through, and I think you will feel the same way.
Buy/Rent:Buy
This game is defiantly worth a purchase. It offers everything that anyone could possibly want in a video game. No matter how old this game could get, I think you could get enjoyment out of this game every time you start it up in your Super Nintendo console. To me, it brings back fond memories of the Looney Tunes show, and great times I had playing this game in the past. Defiantly pick this game up if you see it because it is one stellar title.
Overall:9/10
As you can see, I really enjoyed this game. Astounding graphics, solid sound, a awesome gameplay, and lots of replay make this game one to own on the Super Nintendo. Anyone from the ages of 5-80 could enjoy this game if they gave it a chance. It's not just for kids, or fans of the show. Anyone could make Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage fun for them. It's an absolute masterpiece that everyone should at least play at some point in their lives. Do yourself a favor, and play Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage. You would have to be one waskilly person not to.
