"Corporal Flag-dude And The Slightly Vigilant Guys"
Captain America is a Fighting game developed by Realtime Associates. I don't like side scrolling fighting games, it's probably my least favorite genre, (even worse than Sports), however there is a certain kind of games that are even worse: licensed titles! Captain America is both a typical street brawler AND a licensed game so its no surprise that its one of the worst games I've ever played
Captain America and his still-in-the-closet homosexual friends, (hey, its not my fault they dress that way!), have to stop the evil plans of Russia err I mean Red Skull. The end
Replay Value: 0/10
Oh. My. God. I always hated most side-scrolling beat em up games and each time I would start playing a title I haven't played before I would hated it even more. It has been a long time since I've played a game so bad and let me explain why. Captain America is your typical Final Fight-type game where all you do is fighting the same freaking enemies over and over with the same freaking moves. There's little strategy involved and the game is extremely repetitive. However Captain America is even worse! Why? Because it's broken! Final Fight was boring but at least it was playable, with ok controls and the right challenge. Captain America has extremely unresponsive controls, extremely slow characters, hard to hit enemies and insane challenge but not because the game is actually hard but because, like I said it's broken. You can choose between Captain America, Iron Man and two other superheroes that I don't know off, (and I don't care about), and frankly they don't make the game any better. The only thing that can save the game a bit is the 2-player mode, which makes the game a taaaaaaaaad better
First the good: Everything in the game, especially the main heroes look like they're supposed to aaaaaand that's it! You see graphics in videogames aren't just about portraying things correctly but making things a bit more exciting and in Captain America everything looks so damn boring. The few enemies that you'll see have boring design and lack variety since we only have a couple ones. The main heroes look a bit better but like the enemies, their animation is so stiff and lifeless that it actually gets bad. Finally the various locales look quite boring and unoriginal with very dull colors used. Now about the Audio portion of the game: The music is just boring and unremarkable. The sound effects on the other hand are atrocious!!! My ears still bleed from the pain sound of Captain America!
-Extremely boring and repetitive
-Bad controls and hit detection
-Boring Graphics & Music. Irritating Sound Effects
Ninja Warriors (SNES)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time (SNES)
Simply avoid the game even if you are a fan of the genre or the comic book
