"The Ultimate Zelda series from the world's best designer, Shigeru Miyamoto!"
Shigeru Miyamoto has done it once again! Presenting to you is the greatest
action-RPG ever made for the Super Nintendo. Zelda has always been my favourite
action-RPG series at all times and it has proven to live up to its honourable
Zelda:A Link to the Past was made in 1992. The story is pretty much like its predeccessor. You wake up, realising that Princess Zelda is in danger and that an evil wizard is planning to annhilate the world. You begin your quest to save the Princess Zelda in the land of Hyrule, collect three pendants to get the legendary Master Sword.
When i first played the game, i was completely stunned! The graphics had improved tenfold over the original and the levels in the outdoors are extremely huge. Talk over countless exploration! Talk about interaction with the enviroments. Graphics are asolutely gorgeous and spectacular. Talk about the forest maze, rain...! Man, it's so awesome!
Gameplay is what Zelda:A Link to the Past shines. With plenty of exploration, you will find yourself often entangled in a situation which you need to stretch your head and solve the puzzles. Survive and solve mind-blending puzzles using the various tools you have gathered.
Control are really good and i don't have any problem with it. The game gets even cooler when you have gained the ability to dash.
Music and sound are truly awesome. Some of the tunes are really good, though isn't the quality of Final Fantasy series. Considering it's an action-RPG and they don't have any Nobuo, i will say it's great. The sound is definitely good. Talk about the sound effects when rain falls, the clanking of the sword, lighting the torches and so on.
Zelda:A Link to the Past will take you at least 20 hours to complete. Talk about the awesome replay value. Even if you have completed it once, you will find yourself in a dilemnia situation like me, playing it over and over again. Part III of Zelda series is clearly the best SNES action-RPG.
Zelda has revolutionised the action-RPG series, setting a new fundamental. [Remember the PlayStation's Alundra?]
Story : 8.0/10.0
Music : 9.0/10.0
[I still give it a 10 though the overall score don't add up to be.]
