Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra
Review by Dark Jedi Knight
"This Game is Just Sad"
Might and Magic 3: Isle of Terra is just another example of why PC ports should NEVER be done... EVER!
Story 1/10-
Well, the game really has almost no story at all. The whole idea of this game is to activate some time machine so you can save some king in Might and Magic 4. Unfortunately, you are never really told this, and must just walk around the game until you figure this out, which will take you a very, very long time...
Graphics 3/10-
The graphics are pretty bad. I guess the PC made them work, but they sure as heck suck on SNES. Everything is so blocky, plus because of slow down, the graphics get even more ''messed up.''
Sound 1/10-
Sound, what sound? There are about three sound effects in the game. There is ''bump'' which you hear when you: walk, and hit monsters. There is ''urgh'' which you hear when you get hit. The there is ''click'' which you hear when you do anything else. Oh, wait, one more. The ''bling'' when night and day come.
Music 1/10-
The only reason I gave this a one is because there actually is music. It gets so repetitive though, since each town has pretty much the same music. Then there is the in battle music, which consist of about three notes. Need I say more?
Gameplay 1/10-
You basically just walk around killing stuff (or getting killed). You can get in some major exploring, but that usually results in death (because you are too weak to fight just about everything). You can equip your characters with weapons and armor, another slow process. The worst thing of all though are the menus. Every time you click on an icon, you must wait for the screen to fade out, then fade back in, a 5 second process. Since you must click at least three icons to equip something, good luck not falling asleep. There are many more annoying and confusing things, too many to describe...
Difficulty- Impossible
This game is way too hard. Not only are almost every single monster capable of killing all of your party members, navigation almost makes it impossible to find your way ANYWHERE.
Control 5/10-
The controls are fairly simple, although they are annoying.
If You Liked This Game:
-Might and Magic 2 (much better than M&M 3)
-Eye of the Beholder (much better than M&M 3)
Need help?
Yes, you do if you like this game.
Overall 1/10-
The facts speak for themselves. Oh, and whatever you do, DON'T BUY THIS GAME, a mistake I unfortunately made!
