Hex Workshop and use it to open any SD3 ZST files you may have.

INTRODUCTION by Dan Orner (http://start.at/centerworld/)

It's time to relearn some grade 2 math. 8-)

Every number system, for every type of math, everywhere, must be based on a base
number. Our number system (the Roman system) is set on a base 10. This means that
every place digit can have 10 possible numbers set to it (0-9). Because of that,
every extra place digit multiplies the total number by 10. The number 10 is 10 times
the worth of the number 1, because the 1 has moved one place to the left. The
number 11 is ten times the number 1 plus the original 1. The number 15 is 10 times
the number 1 plus 5. 1560 is 10 times itself three times, plus 10 squared times 5,
plus 10 times 6, plus 0. (1E3 +5E2 +6E1 +0, where E means "X10 to the power of").
*^_^* Don't worry about that last example too much; you won't really be using it. Sorry
if it confused you!

Some people are familiar with binary, which is set on a base 2. Hexadecimal is yet
another number system, with a base of 16. The 16 possible numbers are 0-9, followed
by A-F. Therefore, the number 0 would still be 0, 8 would still be 8, but the number
A would be 10. The HD number 10, therefore, would really be 16, because each place digit
multiplies the total by 16, not 10. The HD number 2F would be 47.

For conventional sake, every hexadecimal digit you'll work with in Hex Workshop has
two places, from 00 to FF (0-256). In other words, you can't just insert a number of B.
It must be 0B.

HOW DO I USE THE HEX WORKSHOP?

When you open the ZST file, you'll see a total of 10 columns. The first column has 8
hex digits, meaning it can hold a total of 65,536. However, the last hex digit in
this column is always 0. Why? Because the numbers 0 through F are represented by the
next 8 columns. The first two digits in the second column represent the 0, the second
two digits represent the 1, etc up to F. So if you want to edit place # 1FA0D, you
would go to the column 1FA00, then put the cursor in front of the second set of
digits in the seventh number column (not counting the 1FA00 column) and then input
your changes. In other words, the first, long column is the header column, the next
8 columns are the data columns (the ones you'll change) and don't worry about the
last column. It's a bit confusing because the headings are in hex, the columns are
categorized by hex, and you'll be entering hex numbers in the columns as well; that's
three different hexes to worry about. Just split it up: Look at the header ([1FA0]D) and
go to it, then look at the last digit (1FA0[D]) and go to that, then enter the input the
guide tells you (20 etc). Well, have fun! --Dan Orner

NOTE: With HP and MP modifiers, the game will not accept any values
that do not correspond to the character's Level. For example,
Duran's HP total is 88 at Level 1, and if you change it, the
computer will stay at 88. Input the Experience Modifier in-
stead, and by Level 99, every character will have an HP total
of 999 and an MP total of 99. Also, inputting a higher value
than 32 ("20" in hexadecimal) for any of the character attri-
butes will cause the game to freeze.

Character #1 Offsets:
