although you can access him in other versions via hacks, he controls nothing
like his original form covered in this faq.

Noob Saibot emerges from the darkest region of reality - a region known as
the Netherealm. He belongs to a group called the Brothers of the Shadow, and
worships an evil and mysterious fallen Elder God. His mission is to spy on
the events taking place in the battle between the realms and report back to
    his enigmatic leaders.
At first a passive observer, Noob Saibot would soon receive orders to side
with the evil Emperor Shao Kahn. Saibot's leaders in the Netherrealm want
him to join Kahn's battle to gain his trust and to gain entrance into the
    Earth Realm.
When Kahn drops his guard, Noob Saibot is ordered to attack. With both the
Earth Realm and the Outworld's Emperor defeated, the fallen Elder God known
as Shinnok can take both realms and gain the power he needs to strike back
at the Elder God who banished him into the Netherrealm.
                                      . . .
Noob Saibot was first introduced as a playable character in the Genesis port
of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. And although he first appeared in Mortal Kombat
2 by doing certain tasks he wasn't playable without using a cheating device.
For some strange reasons Noob was taken out of the Arcade and Sega Saturn
ports as a playable character but could still be challenged via other methods.
Many consider playing as Noob unfair due to his famous Shadowball attack
that makes you invincible for a few seconds enough to score two uppercuts.
The attack got nerfed in Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Even without the Shadowball
attack, Noob is very fast and responsive with his combos and other moves that
can be used at both short and mid-range.
His Genesis / SNES versions win pose is similar to scorpion but controls
undependably while in Sega Saturn and Arcade versions he is basically Kano.
    '-- Moves --------------------------------------------------------------------'
Noob has three but powerful moves that can be used at all ranges. His quick
combos are a good way to go with some of his the moves as well.
    Shadowball D, F, LP
    Shadow Toss F, F, HP
    Teleport Slam D, U
Here are the explanations and strategies for each move:
    Shadowball D, F, LP
The most controversial move in Mortal Kombat history. Upon performing the
move, Noob will fire a shadow ball that will disable your opponent attacks
for a few second making you invincible. The effect last long enough for you
to perform two uppercuts but can be blocked normally. Should you attempt to
use the move again while in effect, the scenario will be reversed and you
will be open for attacks while your opponent enjoys the invincibility for a
few seconds, kinda like using Subzero's freeze attack twice.
If you're having trouble catching your opponent as he will most likely
bounce around, try running toward him and quick combo. You can throw him
as well provided you got close. You can wait for him to jump toward you
and uppercut, the possibilities are endless. Just make sure to memorize
and get the feel of this move's active timing.
    Shadow Toss F, F, HP
Best used from far away, after a successful Shadowball. Once your opponent
is in the air, uppercut him as he lands. Another strategy is to jump forward
while kicking as your opponent will suspect your move and will try dodging
    it by jumping toward you.
The move can easily be blocked so don't over do it, instead, wait for your
opponent to be open as he lands from a jump or in any other situation. Using
it in closeups can be dangerous but rewarding as you opponent will have little
chance to react but will most likely be locking regardless.
    Teleport Slam D, U
A tricky move that requires timings and luck. Doing it will open you for an
easy attack f your opponent blocks or simply moves away. The best use for
this kind of move is to execute it as you opponent is landing or uses his
special move such as freeze attack. Use it once or twice but no more as your
opponent will start to pay attention and predict it.
Using it at close range combat is nor recommended as your opponent will punch,
    kick or even block easily.
    '-- Combos -------------------------------------------------------------------'
4 Hit Combo HP, HP, LP, HK
4 Hit Combo LK, LK, LK, LK
4 Hit Combo HP, HP, D + LP, LK
    Strategie on using combos:
While all combos cause a good amount of damage, I personally recommend doing
the LK combo for two reasons, being easy to pull and fast. Super effective
against an opponent who is under the effect of a shadow ball. Run toward your
opponent and combo kick him into the corner. Attempt again as soon as he gets
You can also cancel your combo and instead hit throw as another finish.
Pulling a combo on a near opponent can be a little challenging as he will
most likely be blocking so hit throw instead.
    '-- Fatalities ---------------------------------------------------------------'
Noob Saibot fatalities differ from version to version, For example, some
of the fatalities can only be used in Mortal Kombat Trilogy and not the
Genesis version. Animality loose a round. Pulling off fatalities require
you to know the correct range to execute them at as well so make sure of
your position as you attempt each fatality.
Close Stand close to your opponent, don't leave any space in between.
Sweep About 4-6 steps away from your opponent.
Far Stand far away from your opponent.
Mercy To perform it you will need lose one round. at the finish him
scene hold R, D, D, let go of R. This will Enable your opponent
to fight again with one hit left on his/her health.
Fatality: B, B, F, F, HK (Sweep) -MK Trilogy only-
    Fatality 2: Hold BLK, D, D, U, R (Close) -MK Trilogy only-
Animality: B, F, B, F, HK (Close) -MK Trilogy only-
Friendship: F, F, B, HP -MK Trilogy only-
Babality: F, F, F, LP -MK Trilogy only-
Stage Fatality: F, D, F, BLK (Close) -MK Trilogy only-
Brutality: HP, LK, LP, BLK, LK, HK, HP, LP, BLK, LK, HK
*To perform Friendships and babalitys you should not block during
     the winning round.
      FAQS \
Q: What versions can I use this faq with?
A: While this FAQ was written for the Sega Genesis version, you can use
the same tactics on SNES and even Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
                                      . . .
Q: What about Sega Saturn and Arcade ports?
A: While Noob Saibot can be fought in both mentioned versions and even
unlocked using a hacking device, he controls like Kano thus making
the tactics in this FAQs useless.
                                      . . .
    Q: I can't pull any fatality?!
A: The fatalities are only available in Mortal Kombat Trilogy. The Sega
Genesis version of Noob Saibot can only use brutality although the CPU
       can use stage fatality.
