    Basic Mining Methods by Rlaien

Updated: 02/18/14 | Search This Guide

Below are various basic methods of mining with simplistic cross-section diagrams. The purpose of this guide is to teach and label basic methods and provide inspiration for the player's own mining plans. Should the diagrams not appear correctly as intended, copy and paste into a text editor such as Notepad, and apply formatting as follows: font should be a monospace font such as Courier New and small enough to fit on your screen, yet large enough to see, and word-wrap should be off. Should you have problems with your text editor, please consult any available manuals.

A note to players: always remember to plan your excavations properly and be prepared to change plans should circumstances mandate such change.

    Strip Mining v1

Ideal for attempting to maintain landscape; more accurate filling than v2.

This method involves mining straight down, then outside, then placing waste at bottom of original shaft.
