Is this a port or remake?

Is this a port or remake of the recent NSMB games for the wii and 3ds?

Did they just add wiiU functionality to it?

or is this a completely fresh entry into the franchise?

Its a new game (new maps, baby yoshi that dont grow, new outfits). but it plays exactly like the previous 2
