"A fun but frustrating game."

This game is clearly one of the better Mario games out there, there's so many places you can explore and there's always something to do. If this game hadn't been so frustrating, it might have just gotten a near perfect score. I'd have to say that I do like this game, though, and it was very enjoyable.

Gameplay 7/10
The gameplay is good, it's fun taking down enemies and trying to beat bosses. The controls are very hard and annoying to use, though, so that takes off from the experience by a lot. It's still very fun in its own right and you will like the gameplay for the most part. The controls are what brings it down, though.

Graphics 10/10
The graphics are some of the best that the Wii offers, and no, they're not as good as Final Fantasy XII, but they're still probably the best of Wii. Everything has a clear, crisp, and detailed image and they're actually detailed, a first for a Mario game. So, the graphics are the best of the series and most likely the best of the Wii console right now.

Story 5/10
Mario games tend to have a mediocre-bad story, this game is no different. The story is based on saving Princess Peach again, and you're trying to collect stars and travel to the place that Princess Peach is in. They really recycle the same old story over and over again, don't they? Oh well, at least the story isn't bad, just mediocre.

Sound 9/10
The music is good, you'll hear some nice tunes and they fit well with the place you're in. The sound effects are always in sync with the music as well, lots of places to explore combined with a nice musical score really makes this game enjoyable. You probably won't remember most of the songs you hear, though.

Replay value 10/10
You'll be spending 100+ hours because of the places you can explore and collecting all the stars in this game. This game has some of the best replay value for a Mario game and for a Nintendo console. The best part is, you'll be enjoying every bit of it.

Overall 8.2/10
This game is easily one of the better Mario games out there, there's so much things to do and you'll be enjoying all of it, it's easily worth the $50 that it costs. One thing though, don't rent it, it won't be worth it. For people who haven't played Mario games before, you should try it, you'll probably enjoy it a lot.
