"Mario takes a trip to the stars"
.Mario takes his new installment to the stars, in Super Mario Galaxy. Mario is on a quest to collect stars in order to get to the center of the universe to save Peach from the likes of Bowser.
Graphics: The graphics in this game are absolutely phenomenal. Mario and Bowser look so great. The look like they belong on the 360 or PS3. Other characters, such as Peach, Rosalinda, and Bowser Jr. look nice as well. The environments look awesome too. You may spend a few minutes staring in awe at the wonderful graphics in this game.
Controls: If you ever played Super Mario 64, the controls are basically the same. Running with the control stick feels very fluent. the jumping motions are smooth as well. In this game, however, you can shake the Wii remote to make Mario do a spin move. This is an extremely vital part of the game. Spinning into enemies can stun them or sometimes destroy them. Spinning mid jump also increases your jump length as well. Long jumping is also back. This is performed by holding down the Z button and pressing the jump button.
Game Play: The game play is flawless. Sometimes you may find yourself running around planets for fun, instead of performing the objectives. Speaking of that, there are 6 different stars you can get in each Galaxy. 3 Normal stars, 1 hidden star, and 2 comet stars. The normal stars are fairly straight forward. They usually consist of running on a set path avoiding enemies and obstacles to get the star. 1 hidden star requires that you search around for an extra warp or sling star to get you where you need to go. The 2 comet stars require a "prankster comet" to be over the galaxy. The comets will make a specific mission harder, by doing a variety of things. One will make all the enemies faster, while one will make it so you only have 1 health to get through the entre level.
Story: The story puts you in the shoes of Mario. Once again, Peach gets captured by Bowser (getting a bit old hasn't it?). This time, you are rescued by Princess Rosalinda. Aboard her observatory, she tells you that you must collect "grand stars" to power up the ship, and fly to the center of the universe, where you will recue Peach. Also, from the observatory, you can visit other galaxies and collect stars from the.
This is a must buy game. The Game play is nearly flawless. It looks amazing, and the story is phenomenal. Wii owner should run to their local game store to pick up this masterpiece.
