Question from money113
How do you do a Sliding Morter thing with Snake?
You Know, the one that Snake Users always do on Wi-Fi, Where he does Morter halfway across the sceen. How do you do it?
It is indeed his Usmash, but I'm talking about something else. Not a sliding Usmash. In this case he slides across Final Destination and knocks you away.

What you're asking is the DACUS, the above answers are only for a hyphen-smash, which all characters have.
To do the DACUS (Dash Attack Cancelled Up Smash) the timing is a little strict, but it's pretty easy with Snake. (For future reference, characters that can DACUS are Wolf, Jigglypuff, Shiek, Link, Snake, Wario and I believe that's it)
To do this, you must be dashing. So start your dash and press C-stick DOWN, then immediately after your dash attack starts (you must initiate the dash attack before anything can happen) you press up on the directional stick and Z.
This should reproduce the sliding mortar upsmash.

That's his Up Smash, right? If so, here's what I think it is. If not, ignore this. What it is, which you can do with all characters, you start running, then charge your Up Smash in mid-run, the momentum will carry you a little bit while you charge up the smash.
Shradow115 is right, but the timing to start the Up Smash is tricky. Basically you stop running long enough to initiate an Up Smash but short enough to let the momentum of the running continue. This will use his Mortar from a distance.
Tap to the side to initiate a run then quickly release and Tap Up+A to "Slide Mortar." The longer the charge (hold A) on the smash, the further it goes (the mortar moves as if Snake was still moving from the run). Cheap and difficult, but it pays off.
You do a running attack then hit c stick up as fast as possible. the running attack has to hit your opponent in order to work
As you are running, hit down on the c-stick and perform you upwards smash attack simultaneously. This should perform the mortar slide.
