Is there something wrong with my Wii, or my GC disc?

I keep trying to play Sonic Adventure DX, but I keep getting an error message telling me to look in the gamecube manual for more info. (It literally just says that. No other information at all, really.)

Buuuuuut, seeing as how I no longer have that old manual, and the fact that I'm using a Wii, which could be a different case then what the game is telling me to look for...

What's the problem here? I can't even get past the character select screen without seeing this. The disc is in very good condition, so I also doubt it's just that, and if that were the problem, I'd likely be just getting the "disc could not be read" error, but I'm not...

PS: The game was working fine until about a week after I started playing.

Hmm... It seems to be working fine now... which is wierd, since it was doing it repeatedly last time I tried. I wonder what that was...
