Question from tleith
Just bought a new Sanyo 720P LCD HDTV. Why is it that the HD option is ghosted in the Screen Resolution section of the System Settings?
Do I have progressive scan available? I know Metroid Prime 3 utilizes this

Well, it seems that your talking about the 480P option (480P isn't HD though). Your TV is fine, you just need to purchase component cables so that you can display 480P. The cables that you are using right now are probably composite which is 480i.

If you get the composite cables then yes you will have progressive scan available to you. If 480P is grayed out right now without the component cables then as soon as you hook up the new cables 480P should be selectable. There are other games as well that use progressive scan, every nintendo developed game should have it as well as some high quality third party titles.
Get the component cables. It will only bring your Wii up to 480p but with Wii and Gamecube games on an HDTV it makes a world of differences for most games.
