Welcome to my first FAQ/Walkthrough! This is a guide to the game Super Monkey
Ball: Banana Blitz for the Nintendo Wii. It was developed and published by
Sega. Please note that this guide is unofficial and is not affiliated with
Nintendo or Sega.

CHANGELOG:

Version 0.1 - Initial release. Guide completed through Monkey Island.
Internal release only - not posted on GameFAQs.

Version 0.3 - First public release. Guide completed through Smooth Sherbet.

|                    |   Tilt Function: The most important control of
|                    |                  Super Monkey Ball. Tilt the 
|                    |                  controller forwards and
|                    |                  backwards to tilt the level
|                    |                  on-screen. This will allow you
|                    |                  to roll the monkey ball around in
|                    |                  the level. To turn, tilt it side-
|                    |                  ways in a twisting motion. (Think
|                    |                  turning a key.)

The objective of the game is to manuever the "monkey ball" to the goal hoop
in each level. To do this, rather than moving the monkey, you tilt the level.
Previous games accomplished this with the analog stick, but this game rather
actually tilts the level to the tilt of your Wii remote.

STAGE 1

Just roll forward to the goal. Simple.

STAGE 2

Travel down the winding bridge to the goal. There is a spot where you can fall
down a bit, but you don't have to jump it, it's just a ledge.

STAGE 3

Roll forward, and jump over the ledge to get to the goal.

STAGE 4

Jump onto the center platform and roll into the goal.

BONUS STAGE

Just roll around the open arena getting as many bananas as you can before
time runs out. No signifigant hazards here.

STAGE 5

Roll forward, but be careful as too much recklessness over the small hills can
fly you off the course. Roll over the bridge at the end to the goal.

STAGE 6

Roll down the first hill bridge, but don't go too fast that you fly off the
side. Turn 90 degrees to the left, and repeat, although this hill is longer.
Another danger is crashing into the posts on those sides- they give a
surprisingly forceful crash.

STAGE 7

Roll around the straightforward winding path. Be careful at the bridge
section in the middle, as there are no railings, and a gap you will have
to jump over.

STAGE 8

Roll around the straightforward path. There will be birds that flap their
wings to create wind gusts, so when you roll past them, tilt the controller
to the side in the direction of the bird, to counteract the force of the
wind.

BOSS

This boss' weak spot is quite obviously the plusing glowy lump on his head.
The bird has two methods of attacking you, and both leave him open for attack.
The first is to attempt to peck you. This is very easy to avoid, though- just
roll out of the way. Chances are he won't even come CLOSE to hitting you.
If he misses, he'll lodge his beak in the ground, making it the opportune time
to jump on his head. The other method of attack is to start gusting wind at
you, like the smaller birds from Stage 8. If this happens, IMMEDIATELY roll
full-tilt towards the bird. He'll eventually get out of breath and falter,
so while he's catching his breath, jump on his head. 4 hits and he's down
for the count.

STAGE 1

Follow the path, as usual. There's a big section in the middle with two
platforms sliding from side-to-side. Time your jump on the first platform, jump
to the stable middle platform, onto the next sliding one, and onto the stable
path again. This can be tricky for new-comers.

STAGE 2

Normal Path: When the path splits, turn left. Then, just follow the boring
zig-zag around to the goal. Make sure to jump over the low fences at the end.

Extra Path: This is tricky. When the path splits, go straight and then left.
Roll down the path and gather speed, jump on top of the small stump (NOT a ramp
as it looks) and then quickly jump again to land on the other side of the
fence. Once you're there, collect your reward, gather a bit of speed, and jump
back to the main zig-zag and complete the stage as normal.

STAGE 3

As always, follow the path. When you get to a small ledge, jump on it. You're
then going to have to quickly jump over a spinning obstacle. (Do so.) You will
pass right under the second one. Don't make the mistake of rushing right for
the goal, as the final stretch to the goal hoop contains a hidden-from-view
bottomless pit, and a bunch of dimples in the path to try to throw you off the
course.

STAGE 4

You will go through a series of circular structures. Each circular "island"
contains a spinner on it that pushes you around in one of two directions. Some
push you in an intuitive direction (pushing you through the shorter route) and
some push you in a counter-intuitive direction (all the way around). Note that
intuitive is not necessarily easier. You will have to time your jumps
carefully. Be extra-careful on this one-- I died a few times just gathering
information on each spinner.

Spinner 1: Relatively slow, one panel, counter-intuitive.

Spinner 2: Same speed as spinner 1, two panels, counter-intuitive.

Spinner 3: Faster than spinners 1 and 2, two panels, intuitive. This one is the
worst of the bunch, as the exit of this spinner only has a railing on one side,
and the spinner tends to smack you against said railing, and you'll fall off
due to the rebound. Also, there's a small pit right before Spinner 4, so be
careful.

Spinner 4: Back to normal speed, one panel, counter-intuitive.

Just guide yourself around the track, getting bananas.

STAGE 5

Normal Path: Since I always say "follow the path", I'm just going to stop
saying that for now. This level's gimmick is two areas with bars that flow
repeatedly towards you. You'll need to jump over them as they come head-on at
you as you head down the path. The second area has pits interspersed through
it. At the end of the second area is the goal.

Extra Path: Right before you turn right to go to the first gimmick, there
is a small path with a bunch of bananas floating above it. IF you decide to
take it, you can get 60 bananas. However, the small path is a very, VERY
thin set of stairs. Creep carefully and slowly to the bottom. Once you've
gotten all the bananas, jump into the goal.

STAGE 6

Follow the long, winding path. Take care to not fall off, as there isn't much
railing to be found. In the center, time your roll to land on the twisting
(not fully rotating) bridge (and off it). Also, be careful for the few
speed-bumps at the end.

STAGE 7

This level splits and rejoins a bunch, but the path is correct as long as the
way you're going is downhill. Near the end, the path stops splitting and
you come to face a tipping platform, some cumbersome speed bumps and then
two tipping platforms in a row, with the goal tipping WITH the second of the
two.

----------------------

STAGE 8

Follow the winding path around. The platforms with bananas on them that have
rings around them are not required. Get to the end and you get a ring platform
with the goal hoop in the middle. The "ring platforms" I speak of are like
this: there is one central (stable) platform, and then many ring-like platforms
around it that move semi-independently, although not entirely independently
(they "ripple" in a wave-like fashion). Jump around on them into the goal hoop.

BOSS

The boss of Jumble Jungle is a weird lion-warrior type thing. In order to hit
him, jump on top of the missiles he shoots at you. There is also a small
platform chain around the arena with bananas (and lots of them). Occasionally,
he'll send out a bunch at once- just jump into the air and stay as still as
possible and you'll repeatedly jump on all of them. 6 hits and he's out.

STAGE 1

Jump onto and over the bridge to the middle platform. Now, it's time to get
acquainted with my friends, the bumpers. You'll be seeing A LOT more of these
through the game. (Hint: you don't like them.) Just head on down to the goal
and make sure that the spinning bumpers around it don't knock you off.

STAGE 2

Normal Path: Self-explanatory. Just guide the monkey down the chute to the
goal.

Extra Path: FULL SPEED AHEAD! Right after the bridge in the path, fly off the
side of the chute and attempt to land on the platform behind the goal for
bananas.

STAGE 3

Just jump up the platforms and hop through the ring in the center.

STAGE 4

Very similar layout to stage 2-4 (the spinner level) but with rotating
bumpers instead of spinners, and no railings except for on the last platform
before the goal. Just keep a steady hand and avoid the bumpers however you can
without falling off. In addition, keep a sharp eye out for pits in the bridges-
the last two bridges have a missing panel.

BONUS STAGE

Drop down and roll around the bowl-like area getting as many bananas as you
can before time runs out.

STAGE 5

The path you're on has NO RAILINGS, WALLS, OR BUMPS OF ANY KIND, so be
careful. Jump over the spinning obstacles- they're very similar to the ones in
stage 2-3, but lower and faster. There's another bridge with a hole in it, and
a goal hoop you need to jump into at the end.

STAGE 6

Roll down the hilly slope, avoiding trees. A simple one, for a change. Avoid
up/down moving obstacle bar at the end.

STAGE 7

Roll forward, avoiding the boulders (are they boulders?) rolling towards you.
Then, roll down the bridge (don't hit those posts!) and jump over the gap to
the goal.

STAGE 8

Kinda like the chute in stage 3-2, but less forgiving. Bigger bankings, less
wall, two gaps to jump, and worst of all, stricter time limit (making you have
to go fast and therefore more likely to slip up).

BOSS

Make your way up to the boss, avoiding boulders and bumpers. Once you're in the
boss' little circle, avoid his tornado spin. Once he's dizzy, bash his
oversized belly button. 3 hits will do the trick.
